Seemed like an appropriate day to bring this up.

Some wonderful horror TV shows have come from both sides of the Atlantic:

U.S.A.

The Twilight Zone
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Angel
Masters Of Horror
Night Gallery

U.K.

Hammer House Of Horror
Tales Of The Unexpected
Beasts (thank you Ferox)
Children Of The Stones

I'd love to know more great TV horror (including mini-series) from the past that are worth seeking out, and which are the greatest horror shows? Does the U.S. or the U.K. have the best?

I've never heard of Monsters. Looks interesting.

I never got an opportunity to see Night Stalker or Thriller; guess I'll have to get them on DVD.

Wonderful shows; I like that Tales From The Darkside episode with the sound-sucking vacuum cleaner.

Man From The South is probably my favorite Hitchcock episode (it was also done on Roald Dahl's Tales Of The Unexpected)

Darkroom from the US

...strated watching it over the weekend and it's pretty good.

I've mainly watched US shows so I guess I prefer those. Masters Of Horror being my favorite... what's the show similar to that that was coming out/is out? I think it bombed out anyways.

Not sure which show you're thinking of; there were so many.

Where can you see Darkroom? Is it on Chiller?

I've caught a few British TV horror shows. I really liked Ultraviolet, hated Demons and didn't know what to make of Being Human.

Interesting looking shows; particularly Being Human.

Can a werewolf, vampire, and ghost share an apartment without driving each other crazy?http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Media/Pix/pictures/2008/04/23/BeingHuman460.jpg

The entire Kolchak Night Stalker TV series ( 20 episodes) are available on DVD as well as the two TV movies The Night Stalker/The Night Strangler. They are on a seperate DVD and come as a double feature last time I saw them. The Night Stalker series and TV movies are one of my all time favorites.

Thriller ( from 1961-1963) hosted by Boris Karloff is one of the most elusive series on TV. It does not play that often ( but I don't have a dish with 900 channels either). The mysteries are OK but the supernatural stories like The Incredible Doktor Markeson, The Hungry Glass, The Pidgeons From Hell, God Grant That She Lye Still and The return Of Andrew Bentley are superior. This series is available on DVD from different sources. It is worth the investment believe me.

These are two great series.:)

I've got the Night Stalker sets on my Amazon Wishlist so hopefully I'll get them for my birthday. Thriller comes out on August 31 so I'll have to wait until Christmas for that one.

I have a copy of thriller that is a 8.75 to 9 picture quality.

However, you say it is coming out in December. Is the network reissuing it or who?

Just curious! Since i already have a copy.

Being Human is a really good show, you should try to catch it (somehow!)

Day of the Triffids from the early 80s was a great show too

I think they show Being Human on BBC America sometimes.

I see they released the 1981 Day Of The Triffids mini-series on DVD. On the Amazon Wishlist it goes.:)
