May 21st I'm making a controversial move to promote my book, to encourage ethical debate and to get people to think about our relationship to crime and violence in this society, I'm throwing a virtual birthday party on Facebook for Jeffrey Dahmer. This will come complete with free fiction, discussion groups and more. The event is of an ironic and blackhumored nature and will be hosted by my Murderland alterego Ian Sterling. I'd like to get the word out more about this book and take some time to think about the American conscience and the nature of celebrity.
Join me here and explore life in a world surprisingly unlike our own for a day as well as how this world is moving in that direction:

Awesome man. I wonder if you'll cop a lot of shit for doing this? I'll pass on the link to a few people I know who will be interested.

I've had a couple of people miss the point. But if you at least read the REVIEWS of the Murderland books, they should see the intent, but I'd be lying if I didn't think there was something shocking about this. I want people to be shocked and I want them to think.

So is there going to be a live stream and/or live chat? How is this "working" exactly? (you young kids and your newfangled bookface...)

Ian and I will be present all day with discussion groups open. Facebook discussions and threads can move really fast, speedy to the point at which it's close to chat. Ian will hopefully be doing some interviews with any horror and Bizarro personalities that want to talk about projects, horror and murder in society. I'm hoping to get my Amazon rank under 10,000 on this day, so tell friends that are interested about the book and the event if you feel so inclined. It will be a chance to show how like our world the Murderland world is as well as getting glimpses into it. MissMacabre did some Reap pinup art that I can't wait to see and there should be more fun stuff.

I think this is absolutely disgusting, vile, and offensive.
When exactly is this and where?
