Today is the start of TV Turnoff week, turn off your TV's for a week and show who's really in charge.

No it doesnt hurt anyone. But it does waste HOURS of your day, EVERYDAY. We usually just have it on for background noise, but you wouldnt believe how peacefull is it now that its off, i think im gonna keep it off alot more often.

PLUS, i dont know about you, but ive seen ALMOST EVERYTHING on there like a million times, and reality TV is a fucking joke. NO POINT TO TV TURNOFF WEEK!!? You obviouslly show your ignorance with a statment like that. For your information TV channels make money by selling air time to commericals, and how do they decide what to charge, based on how many viewers a certain show has. So more popular shows therefor are more expensive to buy air time in the middle of. SO in TV Turnoff week you are therefor cutting revenue from the TV channels. Why is this important or significant you ask? Just some information for you, on average by the time a person reaches 18 years old, they are estimated to have scanned over 8 million ads. That alone makes me want to turn off what Corporate america thinks I should spend my hard earned money on, I get a little sick and tired of in the middle of my quality show getting blasted by people telling me to buy their shit. So not only does this solve that problem, but it also hurts the profit margine of the Major Media Corperations (abc,cbs,nbc) and why is this good, because the big three MMC's lobby congress to makes laws in their favor that then give tax breaks and corporate walfare to who you may ask, well take a guess, the MMC's. So not only does Tv turnoff week save your from being a direct statistic of corporate america itself, but also hurts their ability to pass their own laws and control the american citizen. Finnaly Tv turnoffweek is important because Television turns you into a zombie, turn if off for a day and see how much more time you have when its not divided into 2 30 minute segments, see what you can get done, heaven forbid an american citizen get off the couch and perhaps *gasp* EXERCISE, if american's cared for their chelesterol level as much as they care about the local gas prices we would all be a little healthier.

So next time you want to comment about how something IS or ISN'T inherently evil, you may want to get your facts straight little girl.

THERE IS NO GOOD IN CORPERATIONS, you can have eveything a business does and have it not be in a corperation or big business. Chevrolet wasn't always part of GM, it was absoarbed into it. Regular business can do anything a corperation can do, and benefit the customer while doing it, more competeition equates to lower prices and better product. If all are absoarbed into one company there is no reason to lower prices, or improve your product...example.....MICROSOFT...what reason do they have to improve their product...NONE, they can improve it or not and were stuck with it ( at least the vast majority) because there is no readily available alternative. Had Apple become a majoy player in the PC market I can GARUNTEE you that Windows would be 200% better/faster/more effeciant and less taxing to a computer, and bee 100 bucks cheaper at it.

Spike does tho, but he kinda has too, as Vicious is is alter ego and complete equal. You have to admit that the last fight scene was incredible, and completely satisfing. Remember when they both got eachothers weapons and then they stop for a sec. then Spikes like "Julia is dead. Lets end it", and Vicious is like "Alright" (or something not sure what he says) and then they throw eachother their weapons back and keep fighting. FUCKING AWSOME, not to mention spikes death scene, "bang" and the music after that is great, so sad, so fullfilling.

Remember what it says at the end, where it normally says "See you space cowboy", at the last episode it says "Are you gonna carry that weight", fucking hardcore, really makes you think.


We dont have the serious, but we have the Cowboy Bebop The Movie, with Vincent. I was lucky enough to see that in the threaters, i really love that one too. Cowboy Bebop owns.

even now i didnt jump at cowboy bebop. i happened to have it on w hen Edward was playing chess against Hex and she was SO hilarious so since then i've been hooked. i also like big o, and to a lesser extent witch hunter robin. i like bebop especially though just becuase of the zaniness. the other 2 are somewhat to serious for my liking.

the end WAS incredible. but doesnt mean it wasnt INCREDIBL INCREDBILY SAD!! seriously i was about to cry lol. i mean come on, i was WAITING for him and faye to hook up.. GRrrr

anyway. ive never seen evangeleon. and if its not on tv, i probably never WILL lol. we have some random japanese type stores carrying anime, ALL run by white men so u know prices are ^^^^^. i could just go straight to japan but im not sure id get the english versions. yes, the japanese versions are supposed to be more accurate or some shit but i LOVED the voices they chose for big o and bebop and would much rather watch than read.


Word. actually i was really NOT into cowboy bebop when i first started watching it. Everyone was ALL about it, so ofcourse i was skeptical. But the most the more i watched, the more i got into it. The character style, the MUSIC, the whole stylized anime. Not to mention the whole Spike Vs. Vicious thing, yes the end IS incredibly sad, i almost cried as well, lol dont feel bad.


Evengeleon is another level tho. Its not like anything else, its all about being human and psychology and religion and the end of the world. Angels come and attack the earth, 13-14 year olds have to save the world. Man vs. God. Etc. I guess im a bit partial as im REALLY into religion and shit like that, but its more hardcore (psychologically) than any other anime, damn, any other movie EVER.

For Example, one of the girls, Asaka the read head, gets attacked by an angel and it "RAPES HER MIND", it delves into her thoughts and brings up her mothers suicide, her menstration (as she had her first period that week), and other things that make you CRINGE at the sheer hardcoreness of the writes. Its like DAMN!!! All the while it plays Handels "Messiah" in the soundtrack, fucking INSANE:eek: :eek: :eek:

Just download some episodes, as you will NEVER, EVER see this shit on TV lol.

Anyway if you ppl like those charcter things does that mean you like Dragonball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh, Cardcaptors, The thing with that pig girl in it, uhm....., Digimon...., Sakura (or was that the same as cardcaptors???) well yeah i cant think of any more coz there is heaps but do u like these coz...well theyre odd. By the way dont visit dragonballx the website instead of dragonballz i havent personally taken a look (and dont care to) but its not what the lil kiddies are looking for when it comes to dragonballz if u get my drift.....

These are more of an ADULT anime (these being Evangeleon, Cowboy Bebop, and in the vampire thread, VAMPIRE HUNTER D), as opposed to Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and to a lesser extent Dragan Ballz,gt, and various other serious. I mean its not to say these animes dont have their place, as they obviously do due to their popularity, but THESE anime were are discussing are more for an 17+ crowd and tend to deal with more mature subject matter.

We watched reign for a bit here, it was alright. Not to Cowboy Bebop standards or anything, the story line lacked a bit i think. It was alright though, definitly watchable, just couldv'e been better.

We have our computer hooked directly into our TV so whatever we download we can port over to the tv and watch on the big screen, that way its not as gay as watching it on your comp, you should try that, if your comp and vcr/tv are close enough...

hey. i used to LOVE sailor moon. LOL mainly becuase... the main one had cool ass long hair and was a goofball

as for the yu gi oh, dragonball... i have to admit some of the characters (the card things) are interesting but really its a bit childish for me

actually.. they show INuyasha at late hours and personally i find it to be a bit childish. not only does kigomys voice bug the crap out of me but they state the obvious way too often..
