I have haunted the BB scene for many a year now in all my favorite pleasures:
Guitars, Music,Cinema, Audiophile ( No not ped-file you wiseass), and now Horror Films. I have been unfairly banned: on many of these forums because I speak my minds worth and a few crotchity doosh-bags complain to the webmaster that I am out of line. Well, I know for a fact that most folks on those forums missed my inputs and wanted me back. I make every attempt to be fair minded, non judgmental,and open to all. I never flamed,trolled or consciously hurt anyone's feelings. After all, it's just fun to learn what so many others know and share, that I don't know.
Sorry for the smileys but I like them now and then..........

I hope some of the aforementioned great posters return so that we all may learn from their posts; espescially us new members.

I have been righteously banned for calling the owner of a particular guitar site a "lame,predjudiced, F**k-Off" and he deserved it.
I hate when forums become like little dictatorshits, and us posters are nothing but peasants; everyone has the right to free speech, except on some forums run by no-humor tyrants.

Hi All!

I'm back. Apparently my last post was 01-03-08. Almost 3 years ago,...sad. If anyone's interested, my disappearance is completely down to World of Warcraft followed by having kids.

I hope to join back in where I left off ie. irrelevant points, recommendations for bad movies and stupid questions that are bound to infuriate (but not intentionally).

FYI I didn't turn my back on my horror roots whilst I was away. I have continued to add to my classic/gothic horror literature collection and to my Italian horror collection (mostly Argento related autographs and original artwork). Been reading a lot of Poe, Lovecraft, Lord Dunsany (well I am Irish), Blackwood etc.:cool:

I think people are too critical of movies nowadays. Sure there arent that many excellent horror movies anymore but there are still a lot of good ones and i think if more people just sat back and enjoyed them instead of picking them apart and hoping for the classics and great horror age that there used to be, there would be a much better appreciation for horror. I'm not saying that's what you do or anybody else does, its just how i feel people look at horror movies lately.

Thats not what i said. What i said was stop finding faults in good movies. Stop expecting every single horror movie to be an amazing film and just enjoy it. Not everything can be excellent but that doesnt mean that everything needs to be horrible either.

I understand this too but if your in the situation where would have paid for the movie, why not sit there and watch it as opposed to losing your money? (If no refund is available), assuming that you don't blindly buy a movie that you know nothing about.

You are really not understanding me. I am not saying that you should like bad movies just because it's horror and you should force yourself to like it being a fan. What i am saying is, stop finding reasons to hate good movies. If you don't like any of them thats fine but that's just your opinion just like this is mine. If you hate all of them, then that's you. If i like all of them, which i dont, then that's me. But not everyone is going to find them all bad. I'm sure there are some i like that others dont and there are some i dont like that others do.

The current state of Horror is not so bad that every single person is going to hate them all. There are a lot of bad ones but its just my opinion that people are finding faults in horror movies that are good or just okay simply because they're not up to par with how amazing horror movies used to be. So what if the current state isnt as good, as fans we should stick by the genre and hope for it to get better and enjoy the few that we can find good but don't force yourself to like it and just as you shouldnt find faults in good or mediocre films, don't make excuses for bad ones.

All im saying is that they're not as bad as everyone's making it out to seem and people need to stop being so critical. This is just my opinion by the way and shouldnt be taken as truth or collected agreement on the current state of horror movies. It's just my opinion but hey maybe i'm just easy to please. Maybe they are all horrible, what do i know?

You're going to be disappointed a lot with that kind of attitude. Not everything can be phenomenal. You can't have great movies without the average ones. If every movie was amazing, then they would just become average because there would be nothing to compare it to but that doesnt mean those average movies should be hated. It is possible to enjoy a movie that doesnt blow you away. You just enjoy it on a different level. But hey if that's the way you are, that's fine and no one is going to change that or should even try to. For your sake i hope horror movies can become incredible once again.

It's amazing how forum-ing went out of fashion so quickly.

Members prefer to lurk on Facebook doing nothing, than come here and post something in a thread topic of interest. I tried posting updates on new competitions and compilation 100s on the Official HDC Facebook Group, yet got no replies even there.

The HDC Facebook Group is pretty much defunct as well.

Overall, the interest in all things horror might still be there, but the interest in horror dot com has certainly flatlined. I keep getting the feeling that this place is running on fumes now. Unless something really dramatic happens, it will be almost impossible to pull HDC out of this current rut.

I miss my friends & cousins...specially who are living abroad as we finally got a regular common place to communicate at any time we want. Though I may have turned out the loser but after that experience of getting my account disabled without any particular reason I'm not using FB anymore. One of my friends (Tanvir) even later opened another account for me to start over again but I refused to return back at FB.

Sometimes I wish I could sue FB!:rolleyes:

As for the Facebook group, I've never had notifications from it. Hopefully the new format for groups will solve that, but if I'd had noties I would have commented on things more!

We have lost a LOT of regulars, but not permanently. It's more a case of infrequent appearances.
