April 8, 1990: David Lynch and Mark Frost pretty much changed television production standards forever. Twin Peaks premiered 20 years ago tonight, and our eyes were then opened to what TV could be, but still mostly isn't. For the next year, the world got to know Agent Dale Cooper, Sheriff Harry Truman, the Palmers, the Log Lady, and so many more fascinating characters run around in the brooding, mysterious swallow of Twin Peaks. A show that more than defied genre, it manically swallowed them all, it had us laughing, then shivering, then scratching our heads like no other show past or present.

If anybody here is looking for a refund time splurge, this is an ideal time for the Gold Box. It's well worth shelling out the cash for that much entertainment and special features of that caliber. The SNL stuff on there is a real treat.

Yeah, that set is worth every penny and more.
