Definitely, it's fucking incredible. Manages to combine plenty of gore and a kickass plot. I love zombie stories/movies that become more about the people than just pointless headshots (but those are fun too)

I have a friend who has the entire series but is super protective of it and I have to cash to buy it.

Perhaps you should just go to DC++ and download it, just for preview purposes...delete it as you buy them, one by one...that way you can get caught up, further spread the word.
Also - tell your friend the comics collectors boom is over, there's really no point with the whole reading shit once and sealing it up bit if that's what he/she does - comics are made to be enjoyed, by serving their intended purpose.
So if you're getting comic bitched over that, really it's just them being a jerk-ass and not allowing the artists work to become better known.

I like that it's not just isolated in one particular scene and that the ongoing storyline developes through new cast members, and that Kirkman is not afraid to "thin out the herd" every now and then...pretty damn well written, and I for one hope it isn't adapted into any other form, and I'd like RK to just keep focussing on this.

The art is incredible. The concept is GREAT.

But good GOD is it MELODRAMA. It's not a zombie comic, it's a ZOMBIE DRAMA. Seriously. There are points where the writing is just AWFUL.

I recall at one point they ACTUALLY said, "MY GOD, WE ARE THE WALKING DEAD"

Wow. I mean. WOW. I TOTALLY didn't see that metaphor coming. W-O-W.

I thought that the first couple of volumes were fantastic... I just got tired of the Melrose-place-with-zombies thing.

I am checking out this comic. Novababe suggested it to me. I heard they are starting to work on a TV series. It will probably kickass. I'll watch it anyway, because...zombies = I'm on board.

best zombie comic out there to date, really great, can't wait to see the tv series going to have to order AMC channel first but should be good more hope then the Dawn Of The Dead series being any good seeing that ones being made by MTV so it's screwed haha
