Saw this the other day. It's a fantastic play and most likely the scariest you will ever see. I won't go into to many details for fear of ruining the plot but it tells the story of two men. One of them is an older gentleman who has rented out a theater to tell his horrific story from his past. The other is the owner of the hall who helps guide the other man through the story. Together, they act it out from the memoirs.

That's about as much as I can tell you. But everything about this play exudes brilliance. The atmosphere, the acting, the subtle humor, the horrific track. Every single moment will have you on edge and whilst you may well predict when a fright is about to happen it stills shocks you when it does.

Basically, go and see this play. It is utterly magnificent. My best theater experience yet. And a hell of a lot better than any of the crap Hollywood is spewing out these days...

Really? O.O
I read the book a few years ago and thought it was utter non-scary crap. Might have to look into the movie then.

Is this anything to do with the Susan Hill book..

I loved the adaptation that Nigel Kneale for screen - very spooky and atmospheric..reminded me a lot of MR James stuff..

I haven't read the book but the stage experience is fantastically scary. Lots of jumpy moments. There were people crying in the audience. Fully grown adults.

Incredible. I wish I could see it but sadly I won't unless I go abroad for it.

Hope this goes on tour, or opens in Toronto or something. Nothing beats live theatre, and this sounds like a great time.
