I like all of Stephen King's movies but my favorite so far is THE SHINING. Being isolated all winter long will play with ones mind.

Before somebody else calls you loudly on this, I will. Dude, use the search function. You will find that there are sometimes existing threads on a topic that are not on the first page or the 12th for that matter. Searching will find the thread.

Of the ones I have seen, I would have to say 'Pet Cemetary' I saw it when I was a kid. The only part that really scared me was the flashback scene when the Wife was taking care of her dying aunt/sister or whatever.

It is my favorite. It can't touch the book by any means, but the pure creepiness of Tim Curry as Pennywise is awesome.

I would have to say Misery because Kathy Bates is so incredibly frightening and comforting in it.

Pretty creepy.

My favorite is definitely 'IT", scared the hell out of me as a kid, but there are many other great films too.

If youve read his horror most of his movies dont come close to the book. The biggest example would be the Shining. That being said id say Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile.

Dear sir,I agree with you and I have read many of his books including the Shining and I know the glaring differences from the book to the film. But I am only speaking of the movie and I was thoroughly entertained by it.Yes I am aware to the question to this thread but the Shining remains on my list.Dont hold a grudge against me kind sir,I am just stating my opinion.

The Mist (b/w)

I'm keen to check that out. Is the story any different?

No, but the entire story simply feels different in the black and white style. The story really comes to life and the CG blends far better. I missed the theatrical on this one and when I heard that Darabont not only intended for the film to be b/w, but offered a b/w version on the DVD I bought it immediately and watched the b/w version before seeing the color version.

It is fantastic.

The version over here was just the colour one. I can definitely see it working really well in B&W, might have to import the set with both versions.

If so it has to be The Running Man. Otherwise It or The Shining

Number 1 is definitely Pet Sematary. The Shining and Carrie are great too, of course. I can never get myself to sit through It. No movie needs to be 192 minutes.
