Though Murderland part 1:h8 was published in 2008, I sent a review copy to Jason Pettus of the Chicago Center for Literature and Photography in 2009 and I am proud to announce I made it onto his list of the Year's Best Experimental Fiction here:
http://www.cclapcenter.com/2010/01/the_year_in_books_2009_best_ex.html
Sarah Jahier of horror review blog Fatally Yours had good things to say about it here:
http://www.fatally-yours.com/horror-literature/book-review-murderland-part-1-h8-by-garrett-cook/
Withersin reviewed it very positively here:
http://www.withersin.com/review_murderland.htm
And our very own Neverending and Chronogrl gave it 5 stars on the Amazon page here:
http://www.amazon.com/Murderland-Part-I-Garrett-Cook/dp/1439200815/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265588889&sr=1-1
Getting on the CCLAP list made me very proud of the privilege to reach the people I've reached thus far with my work. To everyone on HDC who's read the book and supported the work, thanks, guys!
My other non Murderland book Archelon Ranch has been getting good reviews from Small Press Reviews:
http://smallpressreviews.wordpress.com/2009/11/26/archelon-ranch/
Publisher and editor of The Horror Fiction Review Nick Cato's blog Antibacterial Pope:
http://nickcato.blogspot.com/2010/02/bizarre-even-for-bizarro.html
I feel good today. I love my wonderful (if not lucrative) job.

Well done Mr Faustus!
Keen to check it out but haven't run into a copy over here.

My other book Archelon Ranch is published by Australians so should be more attainable. It's on Amazon UK.

Cool. Which one do you like better?

I like Archelon Ranch better because it's the weirder, more personal and more aberrant of the two. It contains dinosaurs, zombies and the survivors of a dollar store hot sauce war.

Congratulations man.
Good for you Bro.
I just started reading Murderland...and I'm enjoying it :D

Hearty Congrats, Doc! A party is in order!
Now you can officially go ahead and write something on killer cabbages and platypus kings, and the audiences will lap it up eagerly.

Excellent work, Doc - hell of a good book. I wish I had your talent.

Doc- do you have any copies of Archelon Ranch on hand so I can give all the money to you, or should I get it from Amazon?

Awesome stuff, Doc.
Now all you need is a film adaptation and you'll be rolling in it.

I'm happy to hear that. Some people I've heard from can't take the style, which is more character driven than readerly.

I am proud and sad to announce that I do not have a single spare copy of ANYTHING I've written. Between the various packages like the Horror Mall auction house two pack with a preorder and the Funclub packages, I moved about forty books. But, actually getting Archelon Ranch off Amazon will up the rank, so it will be pretty helpful.

Well done now hopefully you can get paid and laid.
The latter more than the former. The trick is to find a social climber instead of a gold digger.

Done! Though you might want to know the link to Amazon from your blog is a bad link. I had to go to the publisher and click on Amazon from there.

Buying Docs work from Amazon helps us both. Drive his rank and my stock!

Yah, but Amazon can't put Doc's autograph on the book. That's what I was hoping for, to match my set of autographed Murderland volumes.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be back in Portland in the Fall anyway, if a deal I'm working on at present that is too early in for me to divulge the details of works out, it will be to stay.

Excellent point. When authors have empty sample cases, Amazon is the place to go. My ranks do suck and don't represent the number of copies that have actually been sold.

That's AWESOME, Doc! You definitely deserve the praise.
Also - It was cool to open The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction and see you pic in it getting a reward. I thought to myself, "I kinda know someone famous."
I still need to pick up the second Murderland installment and Archelon Ranch.

Great! I think you'll really like this one. Also, Legumeman has a good editor that actually sends me documents with corrections on them.

Also, speaking of the Magazine of Bizarro Fiction, you can download it and three other Bizarro books for free here:

You should check out Zerostrata, Nova. If you're one of those people that can read off your screen, it's seventy someodd pages and available for free with all the others. It's a work of incredibly positive energy and strange humor that will keep you high for awhile after reading it.

I'll use it as a desk for that school girl I kidnapped out of the bookstore because she said Twilight was the greatest work of vampire literature ever.
