what one of the TOP horror movies SHOULD be re-made? i know that all the ones we truly love are probably on the way to being re-made because hollywood is idea bankrupt right now BUT what movie seemed to have a good idea to start but because of budget or bad acting or whatever could use an update?

i say phantasm.

I think Day Of The Dead would be a good re-make if they used the original script

"The Fog" could benefit from some of the advancements in the visual department, as long as they keep the atmosphere of the original.

I'd remake Shivers, by Cronenberg.

hmmm I think they should leave all those movies alone and get some new ideas, remakes are just a marketing ploy because the famous name guarentees you a certain amount of box office even if the film sucks! Plus alot of those movies are products of there time only realy working in the format of the decade they where realesed!
Remakes work best if the original is not a classic and there for can be improved upon i.e Oceans 11(I know its not horror just an example)

How ever much older horrors long forgotten 40's 50's stuff could do with a remake!

I think the legend of the 7 golden vampires (golden harvest/hammer joint production) would lend it self to a fantastic remake as the original was not made to its *full potential, as long as a hong kong team did it and not a U.S. one!

*dont get me wrong its still a cool film Peter Cushing is the don!!!

I think the remake would not capture the same atmosphere as the first one.

I would like to see a remake of this as well. I don't think it would be scarrier, because there will probably be a good deal of CGI involved:rolleyes: instead of doing it the old way, which is the best way.

But, it would be interesting to see who they would cast as Regan. I think the little girl who was in all of the Pepsi commercials would be a good choice. LOL

sff...what does that stand for?
anyway, YOU must be on crack. there is good acting and then there's reggie. hey! i'm not saying it was the cast..phantasm is a great idea BUT it could use an update. that's just my opinion. don c'monmylastnameiswaaytoocomplicatedtospellcorrectl y kinda sucks and i think maybe carpenter could do a better job at the direction.

DO YOU really agree that cgi is better than good old "at least it looks real" make up? i HATE cgi!!!

Pet Cemetary.

Everyone loves pets, and redoing the movie would make it hella scarrier.

I just think some movies have an atmosphere that it would be impossible to rebuild. Hell, it's not all about having better technical conditions, you know? Phantasm is a good example of movie which, at least in my humble opinion, shouldn't be remade... And I do think the same applies to The Exorcist. As an example... They tried to "adapt" Carrie for the 90's with The Rage and... Well, see what they've done!

Anyway, I do think some movies could, and even should be remade... Movies in the cases of which some bettered effects might help with the mood... Don't know... Pet Semetary, perhaps?

I think the fog could be remade decently, Prince of darkness could REALLY benifit from a remake, as well as a rewrite:p

They could remake and/or update Fright Night...or even just another sequel would be cool...
Anyone heard anything about "the lost GIRLS"?? I'm wondering (assuming it's actually gonna happen) if that'll be more of a remake, or a new story....IF...

Poltergeist...I'm torn though I love the original the way it is, but I think it would be awsome to see what they could do to that movie with todays special effects.
