Chloë Sevigny's acceptance speech, the rest of the Big Love cast, Michael Haneke's win, Scorsese's regal speech, and Christoph Waltz were the highlights for me.

And I can't believe Breaking Bad wasn't even nominated for anything. Garbage.

The Golden Globes... Hollywood's chance to give themselves a reacharound.

Ricky Gervais was the only reason I turned it on and even he couldn't keep me watching for more than 15 minutes.

someone needs to explain to me why Avatar would win anything other than a special effects related award

Grey Gardens sucked. Watching a caricature of a caricature was sickening.

It could win an award for acting...no wait...no...

I suppose it comes down to the general experience people had. The visuals were so incredible that some people didn't miss the lack of story.

Yeah, most awards ceremonies are fluff and awkward. This one was pretty bad. I like to keep them on in the background and watch when I hear something I like.

I thought Gervais wasn't bad, though.
