Firefox has decided it will not save any bookmarks, any idea why? Any help with a fix?

A baseball bat should do it...
Try getting rid of the Yahoo add on. It was giving me trouble [wouldn't let me "cut & paste"]
Go to "Tools"...click on "Add-ons" and delete the Yahoo toolbar. You can always add it again if it doesn't do the trick.

Organise your bookmarks, make folders etc and delete the (in my experience MANY) bookmarks you're put on at random that you never use.
I had firefox doing the same thing and the only thing I could attribute it to was some kind of capacity issue.
When I performed the aforementioned, it started working again.
