I have just completed publishing my first book. "Duncan's Diary, Birth of a Serial Killer". I am interested in getting reviews completed on the book.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can go about the process.
Thanks

One thing you can do is get the book blurbed by your peers. Now, by your peers, I do not mean "harass Dean Koontz" I mean look at people slightly more established than you who seem nice. You might want to join horror writer communities online, get on Goodreads or friend horror writers on Myspace. Next thing you can/should do is check www.ralan.com for horror magazines and blogs. Once more, start small. Richard Chizmer at Cemetery Dance probably does not care about you. He cares about very few of us. This is not a value judgment, but a fact. Why should he? What have most horror writers done that makes them worthy of his precious time? Try the Paying and 4thelove sections. Also, avoid self publishing like the plague. Critics do. In fact, I've had a lot of trouble because my publisher has Booksurge print the books for him (like many small presses have to) so they think I myself have paid Booksurge. Mostly, you're going to have to just befriend some good authors. Reading and purchasing their books is a start.

No problem. We're all in the same boat and the front section of the Writer's Market talks out of its ass completely.
