Friday the 13th sequel to end franchise?

Drag Me to Hell visual effects supervisor Richard Wardlow may be replacing Marcus Nispel at the helm of Platinum Dunes' sequel to their revamp of the Friday the 13th franchise, with a view to ending the franchise forever.

According to film site Pajiba, Nispel's commitments to the Conan the Barbarian movie mean that he will be unable to work on the horror movie in order for it to hit the release date of Friday August 13th 2010 which has been unofficially pencilled in for the new film.

Pajiba also claims that writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift "have been instructed to kill off Jason and end the franchise." This wouldn't be the first time that filmmakers have tried to finish things, with both Part IV and Jason Goes to Hell originally intended as conclusions to the long running saga.

It wont end. Might be gone for a few years but will always comeback in some shape or form.
