This belongs in books, but nobody goes there but wandering horror authors and I'd like to get everybody's attention for this. My buddies at Eraserhead Press, whose tireless work in building a genre has given my work a chance, who prominently featured my story Mr.Plush, Detective, who have put a roof over my head while I traveled west to Bizarrocon and who are publishing my upcoming book Jimmy Plush, Teddy Bear Detective are doing something awesome and risky for readers and I wanted to share it with HDC, a place full of cool, curious cats who might want to take a walk on the underground wild side. Available for free download are some of Eraserhead Press' boldest, nastiest titles. My friend Cameron's Pythonesque Nazi Exploitation romp Ass Goblins of Auschwitz, which I enjoyed immensely is an unapologetic,. funny, sad and transgressive literary video nasty that is well worth sinking your teeth into, Adam Pepper's Super Fetus which I know nothing about save the title, which should be enough to interest some of you, Carlton Mellick's Bizarro Christmas special Sausagey Santa (which has one of my favorite book covers EVER), and the Orange and Blue Bizarro Starter Kits which are a great way to get introduced to the genre as each one contains work by TEN different authors, including novellas. Be curious, have fun, enjoy something you wouldn't read every day.

And if you dig something, put up an Amazon or Goodreads review. They help a lot. Hell, you can even just tag something Bizarro on its Amazon page and that would be a sufficient thank you for the bold, fun, bounty you've received. Thanks, HDC for supporting my work as you have and hope you take this opportunity to support my friends and colleagues.

The only one of these I haven't read is Super Fetus (downloaded and read Sausagey Santa once I heard it was available) but can tell you all the others are worth checking out. Especially for you, Flayed, Ferox, Zero, Elvis, Chrono, Return, Geddy, Forunato...quite a few of you would dig these. Supporting small presses while getting free gifts is a win win.

I downoaded them all. Lots of hours of interesting reading is coming my way. I haven't read so much in years. :p

In my younger years my dream was to be a writer. I got a few things published in small press magazines, but not much came of it. I suppose the short end of it is I didn't have the motivation to make it.

Reading Doc's books and meeting him has inspired me a bit... today I wrote an opening paragraph of... something.... we'll see what comes of it.

Great! I'm always happy when people are inspired to write again. It's something a lot of people drop or it just goes by the wayside. You've written reviews and stuff here, and they're smart, insightful and witty, so there's no reason you can't write other stuff. Good luck and if you ever need somebody to read something for you or when you're ready to help you find the right markets, I'm here.

I think you will too. There will be stuff that you find more fun than other stuff, but I know things will resonate.

Very cool Doc, I'll check some of that out for sure!

Most of the other sections of this forum are dead because nobody posts there, and nobody posts there because they're dead...

It seems to me the solution to the problem is to actually post there.
