Opening credits. The camera then fades into the night sky, above the clouds. The camera shoots down through the clouds with bolts of lightning flashing past.
It's out of the clouds now and it's raining. It carries on decending until it reaches an Island, close to the mainland. There is a castle on top of a large hill in the centre of the island. The camera goes down to a path leading up to the castle with rain pouring on it. Suddenly, a horse galloping comes into view with somebody riding it.

Fade to a dimly lit room within the castle. A man is sitting on a throne in there. He has black hair and is dressed entirely in black. Two wolves are chained to his throne. Several feet in front of him is a nervous looking, young priest. The man in black talks.

The Return: Is he coming or not?

Despare: Yes sire. He will arrive tonight.

Cut to a shot of the man on the horse walking up to the castle gates. Cut back to the room.

The Return: If he doesn't turn up -

Despare: He will.

Cut back to the knight. He's wearing a full face helmet. He's walking through the castle.

The Return: How can you be sure he'll turn up. You don't even know his name.

Despare: Sire! I told you, he has a name.

The doors to the room slam open and the knight walks in.

Despare: V.

V takes off his helmet.

The Return: Ah, finally. I would advise you not to keep me waiting again.

V: And why's that?

The Return takes a small whistle from his side. He blows into it and though they can hear no sound, the chained dogs begin barking angrily and saliva drips from their mouths. Outside the window there is a loud roar and flames shoot up past the gap.

V: Shall we get down to business?

The Return: Yes. I assume you know the threat.

V: I was informed, however, are you sure about this? It seems less of a threat and more of an annoyance. Surely you could just have one of your er...pets do it.

The Return: No. This is much more difficult than that. You see...

The camera is on Despare. He is Looking down at the ground at holding his forehead. A loud beating is playing and the sound of talking is muffled. Quiet screams and cries for help are heard. The muffled sound of the room gets louder.

The Return: Priest. Priest. PRIEST.

Despare snaps back in.

Despare: Sorry Sire.

The Return: The Sword.

Despare: Ah yes.

He pulls out a piece of tattered paper and hands it to V. It has the word "Geddy" on it.

V: Geddy?

Despare: Take that piece of paper to the local blacksmith. His shop is opposite my church. It has the royal mark on it. He will know what to do.

V: I shall leave in the morning. Firstly-

The Return: You are quite mistaken. You will leave right now.

V: I work under my terms. Understand?

The Return: Let me show you something...

He rings a small bell next to him. Within seconds a young female enters the room. She is dressed as a maid.

Maid: Yes Sire?

The Return: Stand in the corner so my dogs can maul you.

V: What? No. Don't do it!

She ignores V and stands in the corner. The Return smiles.

The Return: This is what I call power. Even though this young girl knows she will be eaten alive and has never met me in person, she does as I say for fear.

V: Wait. Quick! Run! Get out of here! Don't let him do this!

She begins sobbing quietly. Tears run down her cheek. She can't be more than 15. The Return laughs to himself.

The Return: Now with this kind of power, I can do almost anything.

V: You still needed to get me in to get rid of your problem.

The Return: Yes, that particular problem is difficult. But with my pets here, getting rid of you would not be a problem. So I suggest you work on my terms.

V: Yes...Sire.

The Return laughs again and undoes his wolves chains. They sit there, quietly growling. Saliva dripping.

V: What?! I thought we came to an agreement! Let her go! I said I'd work on your terms!

The Return: Yes, you did. And you will. But I said this girl would suffer because of your defiance. And just because you've gone back on yourself, that does not mean I have to.

He brings the whistle up to his lips and blows into it. The dogs run to the girl. The camera shoots to Despare. He's looking the other way and the camera is zoomed right into his face. His eyes are closed and he has his hands over his ears. He can still hear the muffled sounds of the girl screaming as she is ripped apart by the dogs. The Return can be heard laughing while V shouts for him to stop. The beating starts again inside Despares head. It gets louder and louder and the picture fades. The end credits role with the beating still playing.

Opening credits roll. Fade into a shot of the town. It's the same night and the rain is pouring heavily.

V: Won't this stuff let up?

Despare: What? Oh. The rain. Er...no.

V: Great. I moved into a rain forest without the forest.

Despare: Ha. Yes. Well, I must go home. I've got to do the service tomorrow.

V: You don't sound too excited.

Despare: Yes well. I'm just tired.

He waves a hand in V's direction and walks to the church.

V: Wait! What do I do now?

Despare: Go to the blacksmith's.

V: At half bloody three in the morning?

Despare ignores him and rushes off to his house next to the church. V turns to face the Blacksmiths. It looks tatty and small. He walks up to it. One of the windows is smashed. He knocks on the door. Some rumbling is heard and then the door opens. A bald man with a bushy beard and no eyes appears at the door.

V: My god. I've wandered into a childs fairytale.

Fade to a shot of the castle. The Return is in the same place. The remains of the girl are being eaten by the two dogs. The Return gets up and goes over to a cabinet. Be pulls a key from his pocket and opens it up. Inside is a slab of Rock with the letter "D" on it. He puts his hand to the concrete and feels a surge of energy. Suddenly the piece of rock begins glowing. There is a burst of light and a screeching sound. Then all goes still. The Return goes back to his seat and begins scratching his chin and smiling. He looks across at the two dogs. They've finished the girl.

The Return: Chucker, Ferret. You two are hungry today.

He reaches across and rings the bell. A young boy walks in.

Boy: Yes sire?

The Return: Would you stand in the corner for me?

Zoom out with the sounds of the boy being ripped apart and The Return laughing. In the night sky a dragon appears, flying towards the castle with a man dressed in silver, spiked metal riding it. It screeches and the screen goes black.

Opening credits role. Fade into a shot of V's face. His eyes are closed and he appears to be asleep. The camera slowly zooms into his face until suddenly his eyes open wide. He gasps and looks around him. He's in a large room filled with weapons. The man with no eyes is sitting down, hammering at a sword on an anvil.

V: Ahem.

The man turns to look at him. He smiles widely. His sockets appear to have been empty for quite some time.

Man: AH! Good to see you're awake.

V: Well, you can hardly call it seeing me awake.

The man laughs loudly.

Man: Gorephobia's the name. I'm the local Blacksmith.

V: I gathered.

Gorephobia: Cheer up m'friend. It's a sunny day!

V: Erm, not to sound rude. But what the hell am I doing in this place? And I swear, when I was outside, this looked small.

Gorephobia: Ah, well that's because that bit is my 'ouse. The door leads to a hallway. The shop here is in the back. Built it myself.

V: That's nice. But er...what happened last night? I don't remember anything.

Gorephobia taps his nose and winks.

V: OH GOD! I've become the bride of Frankenstein.

Gorephobia: HAHAHAHA! No m'friend. You fainted as soon as you got to the door. I carried you out the back and let you lie here.

V is looking a bit disgusted. The smile fades from Gorephobia's face.

Gorephobia: No need to give me that look m'friend.

V: Now that was weird. How the hell did you see my face.

Gorephobia: I..er. I didn't

V slowly leans forward and throws a punch towards Gore's face. He brushes it aside.

V: HA! You can see. Now tell me how or I'll tell everyone you can see.

Gorephobia: Okay. But don't let the king know.

V: Who says I know the king?

He produces the sheet of paper with the word "Geddy" on it.

Gorephobia: You had this in your hand when you came last night.

He looks a bit sadder.

Gorephobia: It can only mean one thing. Anyway. Where were we. Ah yes! My seeing. Look here.

He points to a small amulet round his neck. There is a blue Jewel inside. A tiny black dot is whizzing around. It stops when it is pointing at V's face.

Gorephobia: The local nutcase gave it to me a week before I lost my last eye. He sees himself as a bit of a fortune teller. Maybe he is. I don't know. He told me to wear it and soon enough it would work. I had no idea what he meant.

V: But then you lost your eye and it started working. I've heard of them before. My mother used to read me a story about the blind hero. I thought they were make believe....oh, and can I ask. How does a man manage to "lose" both eyes?

Gorephobia: Ah. Well. I never was that good of a blacksmith. Bad hand eye coordination. I swung a hammer back into one. That was when I made my first sword. I lost the other one about five years ago when I was running with a knife. there's a reason mothers stop kids doing that...
Anyway, i thought my hand eye coordination was bad then, when your eye is swinging back and forth and you can't judge distance, this happens.

He holds up his hand and all the fingers are broken.

V: Okay, that's all well and good, but what about what I came here for. That Geddy thing.

Gorephobia: Yes. Yes. I knew this day would come. I just hoped I wouldn't be here when it did.

V: But now it is. Geez. Why is everybody so melodramatic?

Gorephobia: Calm down m'friend. All will be revealed

He gets up and goes over to one wall. He takes hammer off it and twists the head off. He holds it upside down and a small key falls out. He walks over to the other wall and pushes a spare anvil to the side with great ease. V notices that even though this man may not be in the greatest shape, he wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of his punch. Under the anvil is a trapdoor. He opens it with the key and walks down. V goes to follow him but befpre he can Gore walks back up. He's holding a chest. He opens it and there is a small piece of square, grey stone in it. He places his hand on the stone and it begins glowing, then it fades. He closes the trap door the places the chest upon it.

V: Will you get on with it?!

Gorephobia: Peace. Give it a second. Oh, and things may heat up.

Suddenly, a small fire appears on the floor, then another across the room. Within a few second the entire room iz ablaze. It appears to be spinning. V tries to run but finds himself frozen to the ground. The flames engulf him. Auddenly they disappear. He and Gorephobia are in the room and there is no fire. However, it has all changed. The room still has all the anvils, the weapons on the walls. Except they are all a grey/ blue rock. Everything. The floor, the ceiling. The window is gone. There is a faint dripping. Everything is freezing. Where the small chest was on the trapdoor, there is now a large chest on a square rock. Gorephobia goes over to it and open it up. He produces a great sword, with barbs all over it. The blade is the only thing in the room that isn't rock. V suddenly notices he's rock! And so is Gorephobia.

The handle of the blade is rock, with amazing designs carved into it, faces, flames, a castle. The castle on the hill. One face stands out above all. V would recognize it anywhere. Everybody knew it. The face of the devil. His horns curling up to the side of the blade.

V: Where are we?

His voice is gruff with his throat of rock.

Gorephobia: We're in the ninth circle of hell. And this sword. This is the sword of Geddy. This is the sword that will change the world. Forever.

Opening credits role. Fade to an external shot of the castle. Cut to The Return, standing in a large room. There are several guards in there too. It's lit by some torches on the walls. The Return is staring at two double doors infront of him. The sound of doors and boots clinking along the stone floor can be heard coming closer. Eventually the door opens.

A man with long white hair, who is only about 25 years old, walks into the room wearing spikes metal armour, with celtic, barbed designs carved into it, and a large chain whip walks in. His eyes are cold. When he opens his mouth, his teeth can be seen to have been filed into points and his tongue cut like a snake. His face is decorated with tatoos of similar designs to those on his armour.

The Return: Greetings, Jeremiah.

Dante: Call me Dante.

His voice is cold and gruff.

The Return: I'm sorry to have called you away from your mission.

Dante: Oh, Don't worry. My Job is done. Neverending started the blaze before we left. London is burning.

The Return: I wish you wouldn't name that beast. They're just dragons.

Dante: They are like me.

The Return: They are tools.

Dante: Shut your mouth you ignorant fool.

The Return: How dare you talk to your king like that? You may currently be ruling my army but it wouldn't take much to make you disappear.

Dante whips the wall with his chain. The stones fly around the room. Several guards chance their stance.

The Return: You'll regret that.

He takes out the whistle and blows into it. The two wolves, Ferret and Chucker, run to his side.

The Return: Understand?

Dante: I think it's you who doesn't understand.

he kneels down and looks at the two dogs. They run to him. He startsstroking them and looks up at The return, smiling maliciously.

The Return: Shall we cut this madness and get down to business.

Dante: I think it would be a good idea.

They walk over to a long table and sit down.

The Return: It's happening.

Dante: What?

The Return: The walls. They're singing again.

Dante: Fuck. What action have you taken so far?

The Return: That fool. The priest. He got word to an up and coming "warrior".

He delivers the word with hate

Dante: And the sword?

The Return: Getting it now. I can feel it. The castle chilled. It feels the connection.

He looks around the blue/ grey stone walls.

Dante: Pray tell, who's the culprit responsible for bringing this about?

The Return: That warlock. The one who lives in the hills. His house is by the entrance to the mouth and so he's been going in. Rounding them up. Giving them hope.

Dante: Shit.

Guard: Stop using that language in the presence of the king.

Dante slowly turns around and glares at the guard. He's young and seems to have suddenly lost the nerve he just got.

Dante: What?

Guard: I sai-I said...To stop using the...the language. Royalty is...here.

He gulps. Dante smiles then whistles. Immediately, the two wolves jump on the guard and begin tearing at him.

The Return: You do not have the authority to do that.

Dante: So. It's happening. You've got the fool to kill that warlock. Why the hell did you call me here?

The Return: They're too powerful by now. It's worse than I thought. I sent a small group of men that way but they couldn't get into the mouth. They've put up the gate. They've done it so quickly I didn't notice.

Dante: You fool. You should have called me sooner.

The Return: SILENCE! After that, V, kills the warlock it will weaken them, but not enough. They will swarm the castle in a mad rush. I need the army ready. It's only a matter of days.

Dante: I understand.

He nods. Nothing is said but Dante gets up and walks to the door.

The Return: Dante!

Dante turns around. The Return is standing up. He's smiling. He blows the whistle and the dogs run to him.

The Return: Hmmm. Let me think. The bitch might be useful so...Ferret. Come here boy.

The wolf plods closer.

Dante: What are you doing?

The Return pulls out a small, jewel encrusted dagger. He smiles as he curls his hand around the dogs neck.

Dante: Don't you dare!

The Return: Ha.

In a swift movement he brings his arm across the dogs neck. The dog lets out a small yelp and then a trail of red appears on the white fur of the dogs neck. Ferret falls to the floor, dead. Chucker runs over to him and starts sniffing him and patting him with her paw. She lets out some small yelps then looks up and lets out a howl. The Return laughs.

Dante: You'll regret that...

Dante swings around and walks back out the door, whipping at the wall.

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the blacksmiths. The windows are pitch black. Suddenly, flames appear and then, the windows are clear again. Fade to an inside shot. V and Gorephobia are in there. Gorephobia is holding the sword.

V: Do you mind telling me what the hell that was?

Gorephobia: You just said it. Hell.

V: I don't need this. I really don't. This shit is unreal. I'm used to fighting thieves and stuff like that. Now I've got Dragons, an insane king and a no eyes blacksmith taking me to hell and back!

Gorephobia: Calm down-

V: Stop telling me to calm down!

Gorephobia: For Gods sake just sit down and let me explain!

V hesitates, then sits. Gorephobia goes out of the room for a moment, then comes back holding two small bowls.

Gorephobia: Lentil soup. Made it myself. Put it on before you came in.

Most of it is spilled due to Gore's sight problem but V takes it an begins drinking.

V: This is good!

Gorephobia: Thanks. I love making soup. It relaxes me.

V: Damn decent.

Gorephobia: I always wanted to be a cook.

V: Why didn't you?

Gorephobia: My dad. He...This shop has been in my family for five generations. My dad didn't want that to stop so I could do "Womens Work".

V: Well, now he's gone, you-

Gorephobia: Gone? Where's he gone?

V: Oh. He isn't? I assumed he was...you know.

Gorephobia: No. He's pretty old though. Turned 63 last month. Oldest any body's ever got in this town.

V: Where is he?

Gorephobia: He lives upstairs. He mainly just stares at the ceiling in his bed...

The two are silent for a moment.

Gorephobia: Oh yes, the sword!

V: Yeh. And the hell.

Gorephobia: It all starts with the first king. King Geddy.

V: So that's what it means...

Gorephobia: Yeh. The story goes that he was out in the woods one day when he saw a lonely woman. She was sitting on a log. He walked over to her and when she looked up at him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, but she was crying. He asked her why and she spoke in a foreign tongue.

V: Is that...bad?

Gorephobia: No. Not to normal folk anyway. But he was a great Xenophobic. He drew his sword and sliced her three times. She died immediately. Barely an hour later his body was found on the floor by some huntsman in the mark of the fiend.

V: Excuse me?

Gorephobia: The Devil. He was tied to a tree where two branches went off in different directions. He was upside down.

V: An upside down cross...

Gorephobia: He hadn't been a king back then. He was a Duke. Naturally, for his crimes he went to hell.

V: The ninth circle.

Gorephobia: Where it is coldest. But he was so evil, the even the devil himself couldn't take him anymore, so he was spat back out. But not without a souvenir. He grabbed a woman. That woman. The one he had killed. For in hell he found out what she was. She was the Daughter of Satan.

V: Satan had a Daughter?

Gorephobia: This is just the story. She was speaking French. Nobody quite knows why or how. She doesn't have a name. But she has been called many. Manly Papillon. Papillon Noir.

V: That's french?

Gorephobia: Yes. The Black Butterfly. When the two were spat out they took a bit of hell with them. A Mountain of rock, which the two of them changed.

V: The castle.

Gorephobia: Exactly. But afted that, there was so much spare rock. Most of it was dumped in the sea, but Geddy kept one bit.

V: Your bit.

Gorephobia: Yes. He broke it in half. One half he kept and somehow, made it into a key into hell.

V: Your piece.

Gorephobia: Yes. As for the second piece. Well. He and Papillon Noir had children. Many children. Each of them became the creatures.

V: The creatures?

Gorephobia: Yes. Each of them were strange. She had many. Dragons, trolls, ogres, demons, elves, leprechauns. They all work as slaves for Geddy. They each had their own "powers", which the walls of the castle strengthened. Geddy used the other half of the rock to make the sword. The handle is part of hell itself. He crafted it so that if they ever became too powerful, he could use it to banish them back to hell. Nobody knows how he got the sword to work like that.

V: So how did he end up?

Gorephobia: After Papillon Noir had her final child, her most powerful, Geddy got scared. Worried his place on the throne would be in danger. He banished all of his children to the Volcano. He opened up a hole in the side of it, known as the mouth. They were trapped in there by a charm he put on it. Geddy wasn't a practicing warlock, but he knew his stuff. This charm was so powerful that even Papillon couldn't break it. Only one child was left, and he destroyed it the only way he could be sure it would never come back. He threw it into the Volcano.

V: The most powerful one?

Gorephobia: Correct. Poor thing was only a baby. Papillon took her revenge on him. She tore his soul from his body and bound it to the castle walls and cursed the island with famine, plague and storms every night. He was doomed to watch his kingdom suffer and crumble for eternity.

V: And what of the butterfly?

Gorephobia: She descended into hell once more. A new king was elected and he tried his best, but things only got worse and he ended up commiting suicide. Since then there hasn't been much structure. Generally when one king dies another is chosen.

V: People chose The Return?

Gorephobia: No. It was all quite strange. Our last king died shortly after The Return was appointed as his advisor. After he died, The Return announced that the king chose him as his successor. Nobody really argued.

V: Okay, that explains a lot. But how come there are still dragons at the castle if they were banished?

Gorephobia: Ah yes, of course. After Geddy was bound to the walls of the castle, it was discovered he missed a child. An egg. It hatched and served the king as long as he was in control of the castle. It senses it's father, mother and of course, Grandfather-

V: The devil.

Gorephobia: Yes. It sensed them in the walls. Dragons are strange creatures. They do not need intercourse, or even another creature to have childen. Regardless of sex they just lay eggs with babies inside. But each dragon can only lay one egg in it's life.

V: Interesting.

Gorephobia: So now you understand. Only this sword is powerful enough to kill him. This sword has the power of hell behind it and though he is not a child of Geddy, it will still destroy him.

V: So now what? I just go and kill him?

Gorephobia: What? Oh. Erm. I don't know. I only know what you've told me. I suggest you speak to the priest about that. But first, why not settle in. You may be here for a while. I'll behappy to put you up as longas you pay your keep. Meet some of the locals. It's a nice little town.

V: I think I might. But I can't stay here. Not with your father. I'd be in the way. I'll stay at the local inn.

Gorephobia: Okay, it's your choice. It's just down the road.

V: You know what, I've just realized. I have no idea what this town is called.

Gorephobia: Oh. It's an odd name. The Island is called Horror.

V: How nice.

Gorephobia: This town has an even weirder name. It came about after the destruction of Geddy when the town was at it's worst because of Papillons curse. It's called, Hope Death Comes. But most folk round here only use the first letters.

V: Okay. Well, I'm off to explore Hope Death Comes.

Gorephobia: HDC.

Opening credits role. A far shot of the Island. Zoom into the middle of the town. Stalls are being set up. Fruit put out, people talking. Shop door open up. The camera zooms to the church doors. They open up and Despare walks out. He looks serious.

Despare: Morning Pinky.

A young woman turns around to him and smiles. She's standing at a stall full of gems and jewelery.

Pinkfloyd: Morning Despare. Sorry I couldn't come to the service this morning...

Despare: It's okay. I'll do a quick recap on Sunday.

Pinkfloyd: Thanks. Hey, can I interest you in a gem?

Despare: Not at the moment. I'm just off for the weeks provisions. But great to see you.

Pinkfloyd: You too.

He walks on past some more people. It's bustling in the town with people selling silk and silver and much more. He goes up to a shop next to the Blacksmith's. It's a butchers. The man in there had long hair and a beard and is busy chopping meat. He looks up and grunts.

Despare: You can manage more than that can't you?

Massacre Man: Jesus Christ...

Despare: Oi! I thought we spoke about this.

Massacre Man: Sorry Desp. Hey, do you know what the weirdo's been on about?

Despare: No...he looked a bit funny yesterday. Twitching and all. But that's to be expected from him.

Massacre Man: Been preaching the end of the world. Says something about a black abyss swallowing us up from a country down near Germany. Luxem something.

Despare: I'd ignore it. Anyway, just here for the usual.

Massacre Man: Got it right here Desp. And good to see some colour in your cheeks again.

He smiles and nods at Despare. He reaches under the desk for Despare's food when the sausage he was chopping falls on the floor.

Massacre Man: FUCK!

Despare crouches down and sure enough, a few seconds later the sausage flies over his head into the wall. When he looks up Massacre Man is smiling with the bag held out.

Despare: Lay off the Opium hey?

He takes the bag and walks out. He walks into the next shop. It's a bakers. A young man is in there. He's handing out cakes to a large crowd. He looks up and sees Despare.

Alkytrio: Hey! Great service today- People can you stop BITING!

Desapre: Hello Alky. The Usual?

Alkytrio: Honestly, you never go for variety...

He throws a tied up bag over the crowd.

Alkytrio: Gotta deal with these lot now. You still coming around tonight?

Despare: Yes. I'll see you then. Goodbye!

He hurries out. As he's about to walk into the next shop something trips him up. He turns around to see who it was. It's a short person, only about three feet off the ground dressed in a sheet of old cloth. His face is distorted and one of his arms appears to be shorter than the other.

Despare: Oh. Hello Freak. Shame I didn't see you in the service today.

Freak: End of world. It is nigh. Crazy men make. Hadrons!!!

Despare: Poor boy...Listen, I'm going to the grocers. Would you like something?

Freak: eerf serutaerc lacigam!

Despare: Freak. Did you hear me?

A woman walks over.

Monalisa: Honestly Vicar. I think it's great how hard you try with him. But I'm afraid he has to leave.

Despare: What do you mean?

Monalisa: Royal order...He's being put to better use.

Despare: Oh no...you don't mean. Come on. Please!

Monalisa: The king has ordered.

Despare: Wait a moment...

He rummages around in his pocket and pulls out a small bag. He gives it to Mona.

Monalisa: I'm the Town guard. I can't do this. My job will be on the line.

Despare: I'll get him away. just take that and say he was gone.

She nods, then walks away. Despare quickly walks Freak beside the Butchers in a small alley.

Despare: Stay here.

He hurries off into the third shop. It's full of boxes, each one packed to the brim.

Despare: Oh no. Not again!

A man appears from a back room.

Crabapple: Hello chum! Or should I say. Heaveno chum! I made a funny.

Despare: We've been over this. Those jokes aren't cool with me.

Crabapple: Yes cap'n! Say, what can I get you. We've got a lot of variety.

Despare: It's apple week...

Crabapple: Best week of the fortnight! But no. Look. Variety.

He begins jumping around pointing at "different" apples as he goes.

Crabapple: Red ones, Green ones, Golden ones, Big red ones, Small green ones, Red and green ones, mouldy ones, dead ones, half eaten ones. The possibilities are endless.

Despare: Okay. I'll take three red ones and half a dozen Golden ones.

Crabapple: SURE!

He dances around, picking them up and putting them in a brown sack. He hands it to Despare.

Despare: Thankyou. I'm going to pay you as soon as I can.

Crabapple: The dreams have returned...

Despare turns around with a shocked look on his face.

Despare: What did you say?

Crabapples face is serious and his eyes glazed over.

Crabapple: The screaming of the innocent with never go away. No comfort. Your lifes work is ruined for the pain.

Despare: Stop it...

Crabapple's voice is no more than an eerie, monotone whisper now.

Crabapple: Daddy. Daddy. Come back Daddy. Where are you going. No Daddy. No.

Crabapple's eyes widen then shut for a moment. He opens them again then smiles.

Crabapple: How can I help?

Despare ignores him and walks out of the shop. he leans against the wall and breathes heavily. Suddenly he jerks forward and runs around to beside the butchers to the alley. Freak is gone.

Despare: Oh dear...

Fade out. End credits role.

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the castle. Fade to a shot of the front door. Guards are at either side of it. Monalisa walks through the doors. She goes through another door to find Dante standing there, staring her in the face, only inches away.

Monalisa: Woah. Dante. Sir.

She bows.

Dante: Nice to see you here. It's been a long time.

Monalisa: Yes. Too long.

She goes to walk around him.

Dante: What's wrong? Trying to avoid me?

Monalisa: What? No. I just need to see the king.

Dante: And you have no time to have a nice little chat with your old pal Jeremiah Dante?

Monalisa: Look. I'm sorry. But I have work to do. It's not like before. I'm not just some soldier.

Dante: You were never just some soldier! I picked you from that cult for a reason. You have fighting skills like never before.

Monalisa: And I thank you for that. But I-

Dante: Let's not forget how you got this job!

His tone is a harsh whisper.

Dante: The king nearly laughed me out of the castle when I suggested making a female a soldier. And then when I pitched the idea of making you representative of the king. You should have seen the trouble I nearly got in.

Monalisa: Yes. But it was at a price, as I recall. I paid my debt. Now get out of my way.

She pushes him to the side and starts to walk away.

Dante: Speaking of which. How is your son?

She stops.

Dante: Awww. Touched a nerve?

She turns around and walks to him, the slaps him hard across the face.

Dante: Enough. I need to talk to you. Now.

Monalisa: I said, I need to tal-

Dante: It is nearly time.

Monalisa: What?

Dante: After all these years, it will finally happen. It's happening now.

Monalisa: You're sure.

Dante: Yes. Now go, see the king and make things seem normal. For soon, you will finally have what you have dreamt of all these years.

She nods, then turns away, trying to keep the smile off her face. She walks forward through a few more doors then comes to a room with the king and chucker in, as well as several guards. She walks in, bows, then walks forward.

The Return: Ah, look chucker. It's another bitch. Just like you.

Monalisa: Your Highness.

The Return: Did you do what I asked you to?

Monalisa: I did Your Highness.

She pulls out a piece of paper.

Monalisa: I asked around and I found something. He has been spotted several times walking over the hill to the hermit's hut.

She hands him the paper. It says "Gorephobia" on it.

The Return: You mean?

Monalisa: Yes your majesty. He has been providing them with weapons. What would you suggest?

The Return: Kill him.

Monalisa: What?

The Return: End his life. Make an example of him.

Monalisa: Don't you think that's extreme?

The Return: I tell you what to do, you do it. Understand? I want you to drag him from his house, tie him to the tree in the middle of town, beat him to within an inch of his life then set him on fire. Understand?

Monalisa: Yes. Sire.

The Return: Now off with you. I'm going to have a little fun.

She turns around and walks out, two guards following. As she does, a bell rings. A young girl walks past her, into the room. The muffled words "Stand in the corner" then screaming can be heard as monalisa walks away.

Guard 1: What do we do?

Monalisa: Are you deaf? Do as he says. And do it tonight.

The guards walk away through another door. Fade to a shot of Mona entering her house. She sits down in a chair, puts her face in her hands, and begins to cry. A small, white, fluffy dog walks up to her and jumps onto her lap. She begins stroking it.

Monalisa: Soon. Soon I'll have him back. And we'll be a nice happy family. You wait and see. You wait and see...

Opening credits role. Fade into a shot of Gore's Blacksmiths. Gore is sitting at an anvil, hammering at a large battle axe. The Door swings open. V walks in.

Gorephobia: Afternoon friend.

V: Same to you Gore. Honestly, this town is nuttier than a squirrels dream.

Gorephobia: Pardon?

V: Take a look for yourself!

V pulls a sack off his shoulder. He pulls out a piece of meat with loads of gashes in it.

Gorephobia: Tantrum?

V: What?

Gorephobia: The Butcher. He has anger management issues.

V: Damn straight! I sneezed and the guy went mad. Started swinging his knife at the meat. It's a complete mess!

He pulls seven colourful jewels out of the sack.

Gorephobia: That'll be pinky?

V: What? Yeh? I guess. Blonde lady.

Gorephobia: The woman with the stall.

V: I walked past it, she smiles at me, next thing I know I've given her half my money for the stones.

Gorephobia: She has some weird ability to get guys to do things.

V: Hypnotism?

Gorephobia: Nah. She's a woman. We'll do anything for a girl with a pretty face.

V: I'll remember that.

Gorephobia: What else you got in there.

V: Stopped off at one more shop.

He turns the sack upside down and two dozen apples fall out.

Gorephobia: Nice variety. I see you went for big green, small golden and sour red.

V: Figured it'd last me.

V is about to carry on but then he stops.

Gorephobia: What-

V holds up a hand to quiet him. He walks over to the window. Through the darkness he can see several horses, galloping at top speed towards the shop.

Gorephobia: What is that?

V: Looks like some sort of attack force.

Gorephobia: Which way are they heading?

V: This way.

Gorephobia: Oh crap. They're coming for me.

V: What?

Gorephobia: Go out the back, run to the pub!

V: No, I'm staying. To fight if I have to. Why are they coming ayway? What did you do?

Gorephobia: Listen to me. I know you could fight them, but that would just ruin things.

V: Things? What things?

Gorephobia: There's no time! Just go.

V: What about you?

Gorephobia: You won't be seeing me for a while. Just leave. NOW!

V: Good luck.

He goes to pick up the jewels.

Gorephobia: Does no time mean anything to you?

V: It could be the end of the world for all I care, I paid good money for these jewels, I'm keeping them!

He collects them and runs out, taking the sword of Geddy with him. Before he leaves, he takes a last glance back, just in time to see Gorephobia grab a battleaxe. V runs out, then heads along the river a small way, eventualy coming to the local inn named "The Two Witches". He goes to the front, then in the door. It's nearly empty.

V: Hello?

A woman stands up from under the bar. She smiles at him. She has dark hair. She's holding something.

Chronogrl: Hey there. You lookin' for a drink?

V: If you will, and a room.

Chronogrl: Okay, but I have to warn you, things can get pretty roudy in here.

V looks around. Only two people are sitting in there, each drinking from a glass and looking pretty sad.

Chronogrl: Just kiddin! Nah. We got plenty of room.

V: Great. Hook me up would you?

Chronogrl: That depends. What's in it for me?

V: I have some money.

Chronogrl: I wasn't talking about money.

She licks her lips. V raises an eyebrow.

Chronogrl: Just kidding!

A voice sounds from up the stairs.

Voice: WILL YOU STOP KIDDING?

Chronogrl: When you stop laughing!

THe person comes down the steps.

Hammerfan: Sorry about my sister mate. Her and that thing.

V: What thing?

Something crawls around from behind the bar. It is bearing it's sharp teeth and claws, it has no fur and it's eyes are blood red. It's making a sound between a cluck and a gurgle and saliva is dripping from it's mouth.

V: Jesus CHRIST!

Hammerfan: Follow me.

She leads him up the stairs. Chronogrl can be heard from below.

Chronogrl: Who's a good little creature? YOU ARE!

Hammerfan: Yeh, sorry. She experimented with breeding rats, cats and bats. This is what she got. Named it Ripley.

V: What an odd girl. Infact, I get the feeling most of this town is odd.

Hammerfan: You hit the nail on the head there my friend. Here you are.

She stops at a door. V opens it. It's a small room with only a bed and a candle in it.

Hammerfan: We provide breakfast in the mornings. And that'll be 3 pieces.

V hands her three small gold coins.

V: I'll be down in a minute for a drink. Can you make sure nobody comes into this room. At all.

Hammerfan: Sure. Whatever.

She yawns and goes down the stairs. V closes the door, takes the sword from his sack and lays on the bed. He looks out the window. In the distance are some fast moving figures. One looks like a person, the other like a horse. V lays back on the bed and sighs.

V: This is worse than Singapore...

Opening credits role. Fade into the blacksmiths. It's a shot of the back door. V runs out carrying the bag an the sword. Fade to the inside of it. Gore is bustling around. He's got a big sack and is putting thing in it. Food, money, pictures and a few weapons. The sounds of the horses are getting louder and louder. Gore seals up the sack, pushes an anvil infront of the door and then runs out the back. The sound of the front door crashing open sounds. Gore keeps running.

He runs through the small stream running around the back of the shop. Water splashes up the sack.

Gorephobia: Dammit!

He turns round in time to see the back door swing open, then he trips and falls down a slope. The sack falls away from him. Eventually he stops and the ground levels out. His forehead is bleeding. He looks up and sees someone standing atop the hill. He lays down flat.

Guard: He's gone Sir.

Guard 2: He can't have gone far. The anvil was placed by the door. He saw us coming.

Guard: You don't think he's gone out to the mouth?

Guard 2: No. He doesn't hve enough time. And if he tries it, we've got the place surrounded.

Guard: Yes sir. Lets go and search.

Guard 2: Go back to the castle, tell Monlisa I'm setting up a perimetre of the town

Guard: Yes Phantomstranger.

Gore curses, then slowly crawls along towards his bag. As he gets to it, some of the metal inside clinks. The guard at the top of the hill goes down to investigate.

Guard: Who goes there?

Gorephobia quickly reaches ino the sack as the guard walks down. The guard is about to call out when Gorephobia throws a small axe. It meets it's target and burrows tself into his brain. The body falls limply to the ground. Gorephobia runs up, picks up the axe and then starts to run away, keeping to the shadows. He gets quite far and but ends up at an open field lit b the moon.

Gorephobia: SHIT!

He takes a few deep breaths then makes a break for it. Within seconds the sound of a horse galloping are heard. He looks back and sees the horse wit it's rider running towards him. He keeps going but stops when he reaches a river. He turns just in time to the rider aim with his bow. He fires and Gore ducks. The arrow misses him by inches.

Rider: STOP! NOW!

Gorephobia: I'm armed!

The horse draws nearer. Gore throws the axe again but this time it misses. The horse runs at him, the rider smiling. Gore turns around and jumps in the river. The water is running fast. He starts getting swept away but is stopped when he collides with a fallen tree, blocking his path. The rider laughs.

Rider: Do you fear death?

Another voice sounds.

Voice: Do you?

A shape appears on the other side of the river. It's cloaked. He lifts his arms. The rider goes to fire his arrow but suddenly the bow breaks in his hands. He tries to turn the horse around but it refuses to move.

Rider: Stop that! I'm telling you! I work for the king!

The shape ignores him and raises it's arms higher. The man floats off of the horse. The shape suddenly opens it's arms wide. The man ripped into two pieces. He then looks at Gorephobia, who then floats from the river.

Gorephobia: Thankyou friend.

Shape: Did you get everything?

Gorephobia: Not everything. I have the rock though. I got that. But I fear it is more complicated then you believe. V, a warrior is in town. He is tasked with killing you Roshiq.

Roshiq: Don't worry about that. I have an ace up my sleave. Now, lets go back to my house. I have new development to tell you of friend.

The two walk away in the dirction Roshiq came. Closing credits role.

Opening credits role. Fade to the castle. It's daytime. A guard is standing in a dimly lit room with the king standing infront of him. Several castle guards are in the room too. The guard in the middle is on his knees.

Guard: Your Majesty, I apologize.

The Return: For what part? Losing that fool or your men running at the sight of the magician.

A guard in the corner of the room speaks up.

Guard 2: Warlock.

The Return: What?

Guard 2: I'm just saying...he. He's a warlock.

He seems to be regretting his comment. The Return stands up. He's wearing back fur and lots of rings.

The Return: In these walls, I demand respect. In my kingdom, I demand respect. Take a look at my kingdom. Now. Go to the window.

The guard tentatively does as he's told.

The Return: What do you see?

Guard 2: The island sir. I see the island.

The Return: Who's Island?

Guard 2: Your Island.

As the guard is looking out, The Return comes up behind him.

The Return: Do you have a family?

Guard 2: Yes. Sir.

The Return: My name isn't sir.

Guard 2: Sorry, your majesty.

The Return: So, your family. Who are they?

Guard 2: My wife, my two children. They live across the hill in Kendrel.

The Return: Good, when did you last see them?

Guard 2: A while ago.

The Return: A while isn't a time.

Guard 2: Sorry sir.

The Return: Not sir.

Guard 2: Pardon?

The Return: I'm not sir.

Guard 2: Sorry king.

The Return: Your Majesty.

Guard: Right.

The Return: Say it.

Guard: Oh yes, Sorry sir. I-

The Return: WHAT?

Guard 2: I'm sorry Your Majesty.

The Return: SO when did you last see them?

Guard 2: Last Christmas. I've been here since.

The Return: Well you'll see them soon.

Guard 2: Am I fired?

The Return: No. But they'll be joining you in due course.

He suddenly pushes the guard forward, out the window. The camera follows him down the castle until he hits a statue, breaking it and dying in the process. In front of the statue, Dante is standing. He looks up and sees the king wave at him. He glares, then turns back in front of him. A group of around 500 men in armor are there.

Dante: Slash!

All the men slash out with their swords.

Dante: Stab!

All the men Stab.

Dante: Duck, slash, jump stab block duck jump.

All the men do this perfectly save one. Dante points to him.

Dante: Brackenridge!

Brackenridge: YES SIR!

Dante: Get out here!

The soldier marches forward, held perfectly. He stands in front of Dante.

Dante: Do as you did before.

He starts doing it, but Dante then starts doing the opposite, as though they were in battle. At first Brackenridge does it right, but then on the block, he messes up and Dante's sword shoots through him, blood spurting.

Dante: That should motivate you. RIGHT?

Army: YES SIR!

Dante: Good!

He continues practising. The camera shoots upwards, going up the tower, also circling in it, getting further away. The angelic sounds of a single voice can be heard loudly. Then, as the camera eventually gets to the point where it's far enough out and above to show the whole town and castle, the singing stops and a lone, womans voice speaks.

Voice: The Walls are Singing.

Opening credits role. Fade into a shot of the Inn. Fade into the downstairs. V is sitting at a table, drinking a mug of ale.

Hammerfan: What's the matter hun?

V: It's been three days and I haven't heard a word from Gorephobia.

Chrono suddenly runs up beside her sister.

Chrono: Isn't that good?

V: What?

Chrono: I thought that would be good news.

Hammerfan: How is not hearing from his friend good news?

Chrono: Oh. You haven't heard from him. Must be dead.

Hammerfan hits her.

Hammerfan: Ignore her. Drink your ale and I'll fetch you some lunch.

Hammerfan walks off.

Chrono: Sorry. I always say the wrong things.

V: It's okay. You're probably right.

V looks out the window towards the field where the fight happened. The camera zooms out of it, speeding across the fields and over the river. Eventually, after going through a small forest it gets to a large hut. The camera stops in front of the door. It opens. Gorephobia walks out, followed by Roshiq.

Gorephobia: How long was I out?

Roshiq: About three days. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's to do with the walls.

Gorephobia: What?

Roshiq: The castle walls. They're singing. It makes some people drowsy.

Gorephobia: How can walls be singing?

Roshiq: I thought you knew the Geddy story.

Gorephobia: I do, but this is new.

Roshiq: I'll explain. You see, As Geddy was imprisoned in the castle walls, his soul remains. And his children, or rather his children's children.

Gorephobia: The descendants of his children. Right.

Roshiq: Well, they're gaining power. He can sense it. He's crying out. It's a warning.

Gorephobia: Yeh, but singing?

Roshiq: Well, he doesn't exactly have a voice. It's almost an echo of him, resonating through the halls.

Gorephobia: That would explain a lot. Did you find the weapons I brought?

Roshiq: Yes.

Gorephobia Sorry I didn't bring more. I was in a hurry.

Roshiq: It's fine. Now they have the design, the elves should be able to reproduce them.

Gorephobia: Where are the creatures?

Roshiq: In the mouth. They haven't come out for a while. I don't know why. They won't say.

Gorephobia: They won't talk to you? But you're their saviour.

Roshiq: Please. They could look after themselves. I'm a mere human.

Gorephobia: Humans cant's rip people in half with their mind.

Roshiq: That's all it is. My mind. I was born with the ability to tap into our ability. With some training I became. Well, me.

Gorephobia: So you could train me?

Roshiq: I could...

Gorephobia: But?

Roshiq: You don't have the ability. You'd know if you did. It would have ruined your childhood. You would have been feared. Trust me, it isn't fun having this curse.

Gorephobia: We need to talk seriously. What are you going to do about V?

Roshiq: I've not met a warrior I can't kill yet.

Gorephobia: Please don't.

Roshiq: He's going to try and kill me. He must be stopped.

Gorephobia: You don't understand. This one's different. I've seen warriors come and go, they come, have some fun in Hope Death Comes then bog off. But this one. I can just tell.

Roshiq: What? You mean he's a creature?

Gorephobia: No. But. Well. He thinks things through. He works them out, doesn't get scared when he thinks things are out of his league, you know.

Roshiq: And? That only makes me need him dead more. He poses a bigger threat.

Gorephobia: He offered to risk his life to protect mine.

Roshiq: Look-

Suddenly, a small bearded man runs up to them.

Roshiq: What is it Rét?

Rét: We're under attack sir.

Roshiq: How many?

Rét: About fifty soldiers, coming this way. But there's something else.

He's cut short by a sudden roar and a shot of flames shooting high up into the sky from about a mile way.

Roshiq: Dragons...

Roshiq: Rét, run back. Tell the others to get ready.

The little man rushes off at incredible speed. Gore and Roshiq turn again to the approaching attackers. Another jet of flames shoots into the sky, much closer now.

Gorephobia: Where do we go?

Roshiq: We stay here.

Gorephobia: What?

Roshiq: I have a plan.

Gorephobia: Listen, I know your powers are strong against a few humans or animals but this is part of an army with at least one dragon!

Roshiq: Even if it wasn't my magic would be pointless. I haven't meditated today. I have no reserves. I used them to protect the mouth.

Gorephobia: So will the creatures arrive in time to help us?

Roshiq: No chance.

Gorephobia: Then what's your plan?!

Roshiq walks a few feet to the left so he's next to a small evergreen tree.

Gorephobia: What, we hide behind trees? I knew putting my faith in a man who makes clothes was a mistake.

Roshiq: Firstly, they're robes, they help channel my energy. Secondly, I put a cloak on this tree.

Gorephobia: What do you mean?!

The army is now only about a hundred yards away and can be seen through the trees. Suddenly, with a great shock wave traveling through the ground the dragon takes off. It soars high into the air. It flies overhead. Dante isn't flying it, another man dressed in similar armour is. This dragon is green.

Roshiq: Look.

He touches the tree, suddenly the needles on it dissolve and the branches distort, twisting around. It gets much shorter, only coming up to about three feet. The ends of the branches glow a reddish-orange colour. Gore suddenly gasps.

Gorephobia: Is that a-

Roshiq: Yes. I planted it as a boy. This is, as far as I know, the tallest in the world.

Gorephobia: I though they were a myth.

Roshiq shakes his head, turns to the tree and takes out a small hatchet. He cuts off the largest branch. The branch is hollow inside. He turns it up over his mouth, and a glowing orange sap drips into his mouth. He drinks it all down. The army is now much closer. Roshiq looks at the men.

Roshiq: The foolishness of those born from common whores.

He tilts his head up, in the direction of the dragon. He blows out and huge jets of flames fly from his mouth. He lets out a dozen or so, some larger or smaller, with bigger and smaller gaps between each jet. Suddenly, the dragon begins thrashing in the air. It whips it's tail around, smashing the rider to the ground. It swoops down on the army, spouting flames at them. The forest catches, smoke billowing up into the air. Scream and shouts can be heard by Gore and Roshiq. Roshiq strokes his black beard.

Roshiq: Such a shame.

Gorephobia: Please, stop this.

Roshiq: They are the ones who must be stopped my friend.

Gorephobia: Know this. We are not friends. I'm aiding you purely as I know it's right. But you are too...inhuman.

Roshiq: I am the most human of all.

He points towards the flames.

Roshiq: Those people, they live under a master who would gladly kill them all, yet they do not stop him. Many have got the chance, but don't. They are so used to being dictated, they are trained so much, put into the mindset that things are right the way they are. They lost all sense of humanity.

Gorephobia: These men were sent out by a fool. They are doing their job. Fighting a battle that doesn't even need to be fought. They may disagree with what they're doing but they have families. People to support. That is the fact. And now many innocents are dying!

Roshiq: The innocence of fools is not innocence at all. Merely stupidity.

Gorephobia: Just let them flee. They will go back disgraced but alive. Hell, they may decide not to go back! But killing them now doesn't give them a chance to prove themselves truly. So just LET THEM GO!

The two are now very close, glaring at each other. Roshiq nods, walks over to the small tree, cuts off a small branch and drinks down the sap. He spouts the flames into the air. The dragon quickly emerges from the growing smoke and lands in front of the two men. Roshiq runs to the tree, cuts off it's top half so only the hollow truck filled with sap is left. He takes a small, glass flash, covered in metal and dips it into the liquid. He repeats the process with two more flasks, then uses the hatchet to cut a hole in the trunk so that all the liquid spills to the floor. Finally, he reaches down into the trunk and pulls out a small stone like object. He and gore climb onto the dragon which takes off into the air.

Gore looks down at the town. About half a dozen men are running across the fields, away from the town and the fire. All are dressed in singed Armour. Presumably, the rest perished. He looks away and calls across to Roshiq.

Gorephobia: What of the forest?

Roshiq: It will burn. An unfortunate sacrifice.

He hangs his head and begins speaking quietly in what sounds like latin.

Gorephobia: You destroyed your home for this battle...

Roshiq: This is no longer a battle. Today finally showed me that. This is WAR.

Fade to a shot of the bar. He comes down the stairs, dressed smartly. Chronogrl and Hammerfan are there, at the door.

Chronogrl: Come on sleepy head.

Hammerfan: Honestly V, you sleep in longer than Satan's Spawn!

Chrono: She's called Ripley!

Hammerfan: Whatever. Come on, we're already late.

Fade into the church. Everyone is sitting down, in prayer. Despare is at the front.

Despare: Amen.

Crowd: Amen.

Despare: Thankyou all for coming, God bless you.

The people all get up. V walks towards Despare. A tall, middle aged man is already talking to him.

Doc Faustus: So it was God that brought Jesus back from the dead?

Despare: So they say...

Doc Faustus: You don't believe it.

Despare: What? Of course I do. It's just...never mind.

Doc Faustus: So...God approved of Jesus being risen from the dead?

Despare: Certainly.

Doc Faustus: Has anybody else been raised from the dead since?

Despare: Not as of yet.

Doc Faustus: Thankyou.

He walks away. V moved forward.

Despare: Ah, V. How are things coming along? I needed to talk to you.

V: Things haven't progressed...to plan.

Despare: Meaning?

V: Gorephobia was betraying the king and so had to flee. I assume he went to the creatures.

Despare: That is what I meant to talk to you about. I received a message from the castle, requesting you go there before moving any further.

V: That I will.

Despare: What will you do about Gorephobia?

V: What I must. I lost sight of my mission. I am here to do a job and get payed for it.

Despare: Yes, but I thought he was-

V: Friendships never last long in my line of work. I have a job to do...

Despare: Goodbye my friend.

V: Goodbye.

V walks out. Despare walks over to the large bible, closes it, then rests his hands in his face. He closes his eyes. Images of a woman and young girl flash into his mind. First smiling, then screams. The pictures become faded and mix with each other. The woman and child are in a cell, huddled. Despare stands at the cage doors, looking sad. He holds up a key. A picture of a furious Return flashes, Despare is nailed up to a wall, like a cross. The two people are running, the sounds of barking grow louder, then a splat of blood. Despare being taken down and being forced to bow infront of a laughing Return. The images fade out. Despare is crying. He pulls up his sleeve to look at his arms, which have circular scars. He turns to a large wooden cross with Jesus on it.

Despare: What did you ever do to help? You were crucified! YOU SHOULD KNOW MY PAIN! You did nothing. They died. Were they brought back? WERE THEY SAVED? NO! I WORSHIPED YOU MY WHOLE LIFE!

He rushes up to the cross and grabs it. He throws it to the floor. The corss breaks in to. Close up on the sad face of Christ. Fade into a shot of the castle. V is walking through the walls, escorted by a guard. He leads him into a room. Dante is standing up, in his armor but not his helmet. Monalisa is in front of him.

Dante: You had better find out-

He stops, looks up at the guard and glares.

Dante: It's called knocking.

He flicks his wrist and a small knife flies from it. It hits a candle on the wall above the guard. It falls, the flames catching on his clothes, and hot wax burning him.

Monalisa: We'll talk later.

Dante: That we will.

The flaming guard is quickly put out by two people in rags with a bucket, already having known they'd need it near that room. Dante looks at V.

Dante: So you must be V. Please, sit.

Dante walks to a table where he sits, beckoning V to do so. Dante looks at the drenched, burnt guard.

Dante: Close the door and leave us.

The guard doesn't need to be told twice, quickly doing so. Dante looks at V.

Dante: I take it you knew already the task you were taking would be a difficult one.

V: I've killed many before.

Dante: Do they usually have a whole army behind them?

V: That was why I asked for triple.

Dante laughs quietly.

Dante: But things have got harder. For you see, I am the leader of the King's Army. I sent a small team out to test the enemy forces. Things went, to put it simply, disastrous. They had an Embertree.

V: A what?

Dante: It is an incredibly rare tree which is filled with a sap that can, with the right skill, be manipulated into making flames. Using this skill the took control of one of my dragons. We lost all but seven men. And only two returned to the Castle. An unwise move. The dogs were hungry...

V: So now what?

Dante: Your target retreated to within the mouth, where it will be incredibly difficult to reach him. And he has a dragon on his side now.

V: What do you suggest?

Dante: Our most important move is to get the Dragon back.

V: How?

Dante: I have a small amount of Embertree sap. Highly concentrated.

Dante produces a very small vial of the orange liquid. It is barely enough for two mouthfuls.

Dante: I have a man who knows how to use this. You will take him and thirty others. The dragon is no doubt guarding the mouth. Get it back to the castle. Defend against the creatures, kill if you need to.

V: Why aren't you doing this job?

Dante: A good question. I would, but I am desperately needed here to train the men. I want the dragon back by sunset without a scratch on it. There is only one thing in this world I love more than inflicting pain on others, and that is animals. My dragons are very important to me.

V: Yes sir.

V gets up to go.

Dante: One last thing. Just so you see how things stand. Many people in the castle fear The Return, and he fears none. None but me. I could single handedly take over this place. The only reason I don't is because it is a god forsaken kingdom. But your loyalties can only lie with one. Me, or him. He can get you money, power, fame. But what I can get you is beyond basic desires. Choose well. Do not tell me now. Actions speak louder than words my friend. Now go down the hall, to the stairs. Go down to the ground floor. A man dressed in a black robe will be waiting for you. Go with him to find your men.

V: I'll bare that in mind.

V leaves the room. As he does, The Return walks by, escorted by several guards.

The Return: You. Fighter. That dragon that escaped. I need it dead. Do you hear me. It's too much of a threat.

V looks at him for a moment, then back at the door. He nods, then carries on walking. He follows Dante's instructions and finds the man in the black robe. He leads him through the castle to a large piece of conrete, surrounded by water. Several soldiers are there. The man in the robe speaks.

PhantomStranger: What are our orders?

V: We get the Dragon. Alive.

Phantom Stranger: Yes sir. There are your men.

V looks around. They look like strong soliders.

V: Where is the man who can speak flames?

PhantomStranger: Here...BRING HIM OUT!

Several men open up a large double door. It's dark in there. The sounds of chains can be heard, and large footsteps.

V: My God...

The men walk out of the room, the dark shape of a huge man, around ten feet tall, with arms as thick as tree trunks.

PhantomStranger: Here he is...

V: What is he?

PhantomStanger: A monster.

V: Does he have a name?

PhantomStranger: Oh yes.

V: Which is?

PhantomStranger: Say hello to Psycom.

The monster of a man walks ever closer, a psychotic laughter sounds from him. End credits role.

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the castle. Fade into a room where The Return is pacing. Dante is in there, standing in front of the king.

The Return: Do you realize what you may have done?

Dante: Yes. In doing so, I increased our chances of winnin-

The Return: So you don't understand! You fool. That army is getting stronger and stronger day by day. The townsfolk are realizing things aren't quite right. And it doesn't help with the live stock going missing!

Dante: Listen-

The Return: NO! You listen. I have had enough of you constantly going against my wishes. You may be strong, but I am still in charge. I have an army behind me.

Dante: With all due respect, they are behind me. I train them, my men would do anything for me.

The Return: Would they? Are you sure? Let's see.

Dante: What do you mean?

The Return: Guard, go and get five soldiers here. Quickly!

The guard runs off.

The Return: As you may or may not have known, my dear dog Chucker was pregnant with her deceased partners children. Two days ago, she gave birth. Six, perfectly healthy pups.

Dante: Sir, I swear-

The Return: Ah, here are my soldiers. Line up!

Five soldiers come into the room. They line up. The Return walks over to the corner, bends down and rises, carrying a small puppy with it's eyes closed.

Dante: Do not make the same mistake as you did last time.

The Return: I have a pup here. His name is Dante. I will place him on this table.

He does so.

The Return: I want each of you to try to kill this Pup. Whoever does it shall be rewarded greatly. Those who don't will be killed.

Dante: Men, don't you dare.

The Return: What can you offer them not to? If you have something better for them, please offer it.

Dante: If you refuse to do as he says, you will be freed from your duties.

The Return: Then what? They'll have no job.

Dante: Sire, call them off!

He slams his chain into the wall.

The Return: GO!

All but one men rush in, thrashing their swords. Blood sprays, two are dueling each other, whilst the other attempts to get past them. One of the men is already dead. One of the men dueling has his leg chopped off. He falls. The other two start fighting and quickly, one is victorious. He swings his sword at the pup but it's a bad aim. He chops it's lower half partly through. The poor creature thrashes around. Dante shouts out. He cracks his chain whip. It smashes into the soldier hard that it breaks his arm at the elbow. The Return laughs. He looks at the two soldiers. The one who didn't fight and the injured one.

The Return: You see. He would gladly betray his own men for a creature. That is why you must not trust him. Go and tell the other soldiers what you saw.

The injured soldier runs off down the corridor shouting about The Return being almighty and Dante being a traitor. The other man simply stands there. The Return glares at him. He lifts off the man's helmet.

The Return: Did you not hear me?

Soldier: Yes. But I would gladly serve under Dante. He has been good to us.

The Return: Big mistake. Tell me, do you value life?

Soldier: Why, yes your highness. But not a life under your thumb.

The man has tears appearing on his cheeks. He is shaking slightly. The Return walks up to him.

The Return: I take it you know I am well protected. And that attacking me would be futile.

Soldier: Yes.

The Return: Men.

He looks at the guards.

The Return: A sword please.

One of the guards passes him a large, black handled sword. He looks into the soldiers eyes.

The Return: The lives of fools are simply the nipples of man. Pointless.

The Soldier looks to Dante.

Dante: I'm sorry.

Soldier: I understand. Sir. It has been a pleasure.

He stands tall. The Return laughs as he slices the sword across. He take off the man's right arm, then his left. Blood splats onto The Return's face. He licks his lips and laughs. In a swift slash he take off both of the man's legs.

Soldier: OH GOD!

His eyes suddenly become completely light and large blue veins appear on his face.

Soldier: NO! OH GOD! NO! NO! BUTTERFLY! THE BUTTERFLY SPEAKS! NO! PLEASE!

The Return spits in his face. He lifts the man up to the window ledge.

The Return: Say hello to your parents.

He pushes the man off. The camera follows him down. His body hits a roof, knocking off tiles. It falls off and lands on a large, metal spire at the top of a tower. Blood sprays on the camera. The camera goes back to the room.

Dante: You are truly the fool of this castle. And soon, oh, soon you will see.

He walks over to the yelping, dying puppy, pulls out a dagger and ends it's misery. He walks out, cracking his chain whip into the door as he goes, bashing a huge hole in it. The Return laughs as he leave.

The Return: Run away Dante! Go to your men! Now you know where you stand with them, maybe you'll see them for what they truly are!

He laughs once more. End credits role.

Opening credits role. It's night time and a light rain falls on the island. Fade to an image of the inn. Fade inside. A few people, including V, Pinkfloyd, Massacre Man and Alkytrio are in there. Chronogrl is at the bar while Hammerfan serves some customers.

Chronogrl: Fill your glass hun?

Massacre Man: (Drunkly) Fuck yeh.

She take his glass. V and Pinkfloyd are laughing.

V: So I says to him, I says, that's no wicked wench, book! That's my lunch!

Pinkfloyd: HA! Stop it, stop it, you're killing me!

V: I had a troll I was slaying once say that!

Pinkfloyd: HA!

Alkytrio leans over to Chrono.

Alkytrio: That guy's fitting in quite nicely.

Chronogrl: Yeh, and Pinky doesn't seem to mind him.

Massacre Man: 'nuva pind plesh.

Chronogrl looks at him for a moment, then looks at alkytrio.

Alkytrio: He said another pint please.

Chronogrl: Ah.

She goes to give him some, but they've run out.

Chronogrl: HAMMER!

Hammerfan had a plate of roast beef in her hands, but due to the sudden shock, it's now all over the floor. The "cat" starts eating it. A customer sees it, screams and makes it's fingers into a cross, before puking up onto the already messy floor.

Hammerfan: WHAT?!?!

Chronogrl: Get another barrel out. And be less clumsy next time. You scared Ripley.

Alkytrio: That thing isn't...right.

V: Ignore it.

Alkytrio: How can I? Look at it. All wrinkly.

V: Seriously. Ignore it. I can sense you staring.

Alkytrio: I know. Look at it's ears.

Pinkfloyd: Stop being big babies. He's a cute little thing.

Chronogrl: That's what I've been trying to tell you.

Pinkfloyd: Can I pink him up?

Hammerfan: Please, do. It's getting in the way! Why can't we get a real animal?

The cats ears twitch. It quickly spins around to look at Hammerfan, it's eyes glowing red.

Hammerfan: JESUS CHRIST!

Massacre Man: Yes?

Alkytrio: Okay MM, time to go. Come on, I'll take you to your house.

Chronogrl: Hurry back!

She puts her hands over her mouth and makes a small squealing noise. Everyone looks at her.

Hammerfan: I know that squeal!

Chronogrl: Yeh, it's my...working hard squeal.

Hammerfan: No, you're in lo-

Chronogrl: Despare!

Hammerfan quickly tries to neaten her hair and turns to the door smiling, only to see nobody there except a confused looking alky holding Massacre Man.

Hammerfan: Evil little witch.

Chronogrl: Poopnose!

Hammerfan: What?

Alkytrio has by this point got bored and left with massacre man. Chronogrl storms up the stairs and Hammerfan follows. Several customers start talking again.

Pinkfloyd: I better be going too.

V: So soon?

Pinkfloyd: Yep. I've got to travel to Arkstead across the hill in the morning. Apparently there's someone ready to propose and I want to be the one selling!

V: You really love your work don't you.

Pinkfloyd: Honestly, I love it. I love meeting new people. And this job allows that.

V: At least let me walk you home.

Pinkfloyd: I live up the other end of town.

V: Please?

Pinkfloyd: Listen. I'm sorry if I gave you wrong idea. But, I don't know if I'm ready for a relationship yet. I just got out of a rough one.

V: What happened?

Pinkfloyd: I...I wasn't his only love.

V: He's living with another woman.

Pinkfloyd: Not exactly...

V: Huh?

Pinkfloyd: He...he's jousting for the other team.

V: Oh..OH! Oh. I get what you mean.

Pinkfloyd: Yeh. But, we can still be friends. But, bye.

She walks out. V looks down at his pint of beer. He drinks it up quickly. He can hear Hammerfan and Chronogrl arguing above. The sounds of a cat screaching then Hammerfan screaming "my face" can be made out. He looks at the floor and sees Pinkfloyd has left her bag. He picks it up and walks out. He sees Alky walking back to the inn.

V: Hey, Massacre Man get back okay?

Alkytrio: Yeh, his brother was there. What you doing with that?

V: Pinky left it. You haven't seen her, have you?

Suddenly, from towards the hills, a scream is heard.

V: SHIT!

Alky and V run towards it. They get to the fields. They make out pinky standing in the middle of one. Up ahead a figure is running off. They eventually get to Pink. V stops with her to find out what's happening, while Alky runs ahead after the figure.

V: What happened?

Pinkfloyd: I...I saw someone on the fields. The sheep were screaming. The lambs. Then they went silent.

V: Who was that?

Pinkfloyd: I...I don't know. I came to investigate, it turned and saw me. It's face...

V: What about it?

Pinkfloyd: There...there wasn't one.

V: What?

Pinkfloyd: Just eyes. Eyes, without a face.

From up ahead Alytrio shouts. V and Pinky run to him.

Alky: I LOST HIM!

V: Damn!

Suddenly, Pinky screams. She points at something on the floor.

V: Oh my god.

Alkytrio: Is that?

Pinkfloyd: HE KILLED THEM!

The camera shows it closely. It's a sheep, laying on the floor, it's throat cut. Ending credits role.

Fade into a shot of the town. It's daytime. Fade to a shot of the town hall. Inside, loads of people are standing up, shouting. A man in a flat cap starts shouting at Monalisa, who is at the front, trying to calm everybody down.

Man: I had a look and three of my own sheep were killed! How could you let this happen?

Monalisa: Please, people, we are ON IT!

Man: On it? How can you be on it? Seventeen sheep were killed, and if it wasn't for Pinkfloyd many more would be!

Monalisa: Flayed, I swear, if you keep shouting you'll be back in that cell!

Flayed: Sure! Threaten us! That's all you guys ever do when you have a problem!

Monalisa: We are trying to solve things!

Hammerfan: HOW?!

Monalisa: We're not sure. If Pinkfloyd would give us more infor-

Alkytrio: NOW HOLD UP!

V: Jesus Christ! She's in shock! Right now, she's back at the inn, shaking her ass off!

Monalisa: Well that isn't exactly helping us, is it?!

Alkytrio: So what's your plan then?

Several people ask the same question. The hall goes quiet.

Monalisa: Well, our idea. Is...is to monitor each and everyone of you.

The crowd starts shouting.

Monalisa: NOW LISTEN! We have soldiers ready to do this, that way if it is any of you-

She is drowned out by the protesting townsfolk. One man, sitting beside Massacre man (who was holding his head), stands up, and slowly walks to the stage. As people see him, they slowly become quiet. He walks up to Monalisa and gently pushes her out of the way. The crowd is silent. He speaks.

Disease: Way I see it, we have two options. First. We flee. Get out of the god foresaken place. They didn't name it Hope Death Comes for no reason. Heck, only reason we stay here is for the crops, and even they've been getting worse lately. The second, is a lot simpler. A group of us townsfolk go up to my woods, and we wait. That son of a bitch is gonna be back. And when he is. We kill first, ask questions later.

The crowd is silent for a moment, then they start to nod in agreement. Monalisa comes back to the front.

Monalisa: Excuse me, but that is against the law.

Disease: So is killing our live stock. And what are you going to do?

The two stare each other down. Monalisa speaks.

Monalisa: Anybody who goes ahead with this plan. Will answer to The King.

Disease: Oh yeh? Who's with me?

The crowd are hesitant for a moment. Then a few cheer.

Monalisa: This is your last chance.

Disease: You know what...okay. People. It isn't worth it.

Monalisa: And just to be sure...I will station some guards. We do not want this man dead.

Disease: And why is that?

Monalisa: That is our business.

Disease: How do you expect any of us to stay in line if you keep us in the dark.

Monalisa: Me? Oh, you are much mistaken. You do what I say because I represent the castle. That is The Return. And...Dante.

The crowd of people murmur amongst themselves.

Monalisa: Remember what I said people.

Monalisa and the guards walk away. The townsfolk walk outside. V is walking towards the Inn when Despare walks up to him.

Despare: V? Why...you're here.

V: Yes...

Despare: What about the Dragon?

V: Oh. You weren't told. Yesterday, as I was training the men, a message arrived from Dante. It told me it had to happen tonight.

Despare: That's perfect. I need to talk to you.

Despare pulls V into a small alley way.

Despare: I...I have a problem.

V: And I have to help?

Despare: I will reward you greatly. I need you to recover something.

V: Please don't say it's a rock.

Despare: What? No. Much more important. A life is in danger. I have tried my best, but. Well, I fear I am too late. What do you know of...Freak?

V looks puzzled. End credits role.

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the island. It's night time. The rain is coming down quite heavily. Fade to a shot of the castle. Fade to a shot of V. He is in the castle walls, surrounded by men, all putting on armor. He looks at them. All of them are deadly serious.

V: Everybody clear?

They all nod.

V: All armed?

They all nod again.

V: Some of you may not come back. We haven't had much practice, but I have faith in you.

One of them speaks.

V: LET'S GO!

They all shout out. V turns around and starts walking. They walk down some a flame lit corridor. Eventually, they come to a wooden door. Phantomstranger is there, wearing his black cloak.

Phantomstranger: Psycom is just outside Sir. He is ready. He knows what to do.

V: Good.

Phantomstranger: Remember, the mouth is about five miles from the Town. Keep to the trees.

V: I know. We're ready.

Phantomstranger: Luck be with you.

He opens the door and the men spill out. There is a figure across the courtyard, standing tall. It's Psycom.

V: Soldier! Are you ready to fight for your land?!

The figure takes a few steps forward. He is huge with muscle, and towers above the other men. He nods and grunts.

V: You know what to do?

Psycom: Yuh.

V nods at him, then signals for him to join the other men. He joins the back of the group.

V: This is the time to prove yourself! But know this! We work as a team. If you can save your man, you save him! UNDERSTAND?!

The men cheer out in agreement. Psycom's cheer shakes the castle itself. It is an unnerving cross between shrill high pitched and deep baritone. It cuts through V like a knife. V signals for the men to follow. The soldiers walk with him, out the castle gate, onto the wet fields.

Fade to a shot of Disease's woods, up the hill where the sheep were killed. Inside, standing tall are Monalisa and her soldiers, each looking around, vigilant. One of the soldiers looks to Monalisa.

Soldier: I just had a thought.

Monalisa: You are not paid to think. And keep your voice down.

The soldier quietens his tone.

Soldier: If the person who did this was a town occupant, surely they wouldn't appear tonight. They know we're here.

Monalisa: We are just doing what we're told.

Soldier: It just seems a waste of time to me.

Another soldier turns to him.

Soldier #2: Who said it's an occupant of the town in the first place?

Soldier: Well who else would do it?

Soldier #2: I don't know. Maybe...maybe someone from another town. Like Stricktville?

Monalisa: Both of you shut up. In a minute it won't matter who it is because they'll know we're here!

All of them go quiet once more.

Fade to a shot of the men led by V, walking across fields, past the town. They're just entering the burnt up trees from the Dragons previous attack on the soldiers attacking Roshiq. V holds up a hand for them to stop. The men stop. He points to a shape on the floor. It's stirring slightly and looks like a person. The men slowly approach it, swords at the ready. One of them stops.

Soldier: Wait a second-

Suddenly, the shape disappears into the ground. The sounds of dirt moving can be heard and the ground appears to be cracking at several points. Too late, the men look to their left to see, slowly standing up from a group of tightly packed trees, the dragon, it's tail pulling itself out of the tunnel in the ground.

V: PSYCOM! NOW!

Psycom quickly pulls out the bottle of liquid. The men get into a defensive stance. Without warning, around them, about fifty shades* appear.

*Shades - Dark creatures somewhere between each state of matter. About the size of a tall man. Very difficult to kill.

V: MEN! SHADES!

The men look around them at the creatures who are making a strange gurgling noise. The shades approach just as the dragon roars. It lifts it's tail up and smashes it down. The men jump out of the way just in time. One soldier's leg is caught under the tail and is now a pile of mush. Psycom breathes out, flames dancing around majestically in the air. The dragon looks at him, then breathes out flames into the air.

Around them, the men are fighting with the shades who are approaching quickly. One man is already down, on the floor having his sides slowly eaten by the shades. V is fighting about five. He looks to Psycom who is busy communicating with the dragon. A shade rushes to him.

V: Psycom! SHADES!

Psycom is hit by the shade. He swings his hand at it, bashing it into a tree. The shade is impaled on a broken branch, and slowly begins fading. The dragon looks at Psycom, confused. It looks up, turns to look at Disease's woods and screeches out. The dragon suddenly jumps up into the air, and starts flying.

V: What did you say?!

The dragon circles around. It flies down towards the woods. Fade to a shot of the soldiers with Monalisa.

Soldier: Holy crap! Has it seen us?

Soldier #2: I think so!

Monalisa: STAND YOUR GROUND!

The men ignore her orders. They run further into the woods. The dragon glides just above the fields, nearly at ground level. It's heading straight for the trees. Monalisa dives to the floor just in time. It crashes through, splintering wood everywhere. The soldiers who are running away are stabbed by broken wood. The one who first complained to Monalisa is crushed by a tree that was thrown into the sky. Others are hit by the dragon and are literally broken.

The dragon rises up when all the men are dead. It turns back towards V and his men. V is on the floor, trying to fight off some shades with his bear hands. Most of the other men are either dead or mortally wounded. Psycom is pounding the Shades. More and more are coming. And in greater numbers. The dragon comes back.

V: Psycom! RUN!

Psycom ignores him, continuing to pound the shades. He looks to the castle and shouts out. He drinks some more liquid and shoots out more flames, but it's too late. The dragon torches the woods. The light of the flame fades out many of the shades. The still living trees catch alight. The men who are left are quickly taken down by the flames. V catches. The shades around him burn up. He screams out because of the heat. Psycom is desperately breathing out flames, but the dragon ignores them. After it has decided it has done enough damage, it rises up and flies towards the castle.

Fade to a shot of one of the towers in the castle. Dante is at the window, looking across at the distant flames. He turns around to some men dressed similarly to him. He nods at them and they exit. Another man is in the room, in front of a table. He is dressed like a doctor. Dante turns back to the window and distant chaos, quietly chuckling to himself. Fade back to V and his men.

V: PSYCOM! JUST GO!

Psycom shakes his head and roars out. Another hundred or so shades have emerged and are much darker and larger, the flames making little impact on them. They begin killing the last few soldiers. About twenty run for V. Psycom runs through the flames, bashing burning trees aside as though they were twigs. He knocks the shades aside, burning them, breaking them and crushing them like paper. He turns to V and picks him up.

V: BACK TO THE CASTLE!

Psycom runs back, his giant strides making such an impact the force can be felt a mile away. V is red from the flames and appears to have a few broken ribs, and a few large gashes and chunks in him, but the armor, being superior to that which th castle provided for the soldiers, took most of the damage. Blood drips from him and and Psycom jumps over small rivers and knocks aside trees in their way.

Fade to a shot of Disease's woods. Monalisa slowly stands up and looks at the chaos around her. Everything is still. Suddenly, something stirs behind her. She spins around and is face to face with a man. He is of average hight. Has messy black hair and is wearing a white painted, metal mask over his face, only showing her eyes. He is holding a knife in his hand. Monalisa gulps and reaches for her sword...

Fade to a shot of the castle. Psycom bashes through the metal gates, carrying an unconscious V. The sounds of the dragon being chained down on the other side of the castle can be heared. Psycom lays V down in the courtyard. He shakes v vigorously. V wakes up, looking dazed and confused. Suddenly, from out of a wall which appears to have slid open, the men dressed like Dante appear.

Man: Quick, you medical attention. Psycom, follow us. V will be safe.

He tries to shrug them off but one of them shoves something small into his leg. Instantly, he becomes loose, his eyelids dropping. The men begin leading him back into the castle. He looks to V who is looking confused.

Psycom: V...NOTMI...STAK.

V nods and faints once more, a small pool of blood quickly appearing. Monalisa suddenly runs into the gates, looking beaten up and terrified. She ignores V and runs into a different door to the one the men are leading Psycom through The men walk Psycom through some old looking, deserted passages in the castle. They take him up some steep stairs. Eventually they come to a door. They lead him into it. It's the tower Dante is in. The men lay Psycom down on the table. He looks very tired and weak. Dante walks to him.

Dante: You have proved yourself useful...but I'm afraid that you are not trustworthy enough. You see, you aren't very...shall we say...advanced. You let things slip. And my men inform me you didn't do quite as you were told. I'm sorry, but my friend here will have to...improve you.

The nervous looking doctor shakily steps towards Psycom, holding a scalpel. The camera is showing from Psycom's point of view. The scalpel is lowered to his forehead. His vision is blurry. It slowly fades to black. Ending credits role.

He's running through the streets. He passes a figure in a cloak who appears to be hiding. As Psycom runs out of sight, the man turns around to keep looking. It's Despare. He looks shocked and confused. He runs back into the church and stands in front of the alter, holding the cross he broke.

Despare: Is this punishment? For my sins? Well? IS IT?

He looks down at the cross.

Despare: Who am I kidding? You're just an abstract thought...

He sits down.

Despare: Something cooked up by someone who needed answers and couldn't be bothered to work things out.

He looks down at the face of Jesus once more, then puts down the cross.

Despare: I'm done with this...I can't put up with it anymore. I need a fresh start. Time to stop thanking thin air for good things in life and go out there myself.

He looks around him then puts the broken cross on the alter, walks out and locks the door. He puts the key down in front of it and walks towards his house. Fade to a shot of the hill where the sheep were killed. Someone's running down it. It's Disease. He runs up to the Butchers.

Disease: Mass! Open up! NOW!

The door quickly opens. Massacre Man is there. He lets Disease in.

Disease: Did you see what just happened?!

Massacre Man: No, but I sure as hell fucking heard it!

Disease: Half of my fucking woods! GONE! It was the fucking dragon.

Massacre Man: Shit! I thought I heard that thing go over. You okay?

Disease: Barely. One of the oaks flew up into the air, smashed part of the house.

Massacre Man: Where's Cavalier?

Disease's face drops, he shakes his head.

Disease: I looked for him. I really did. But...there was just blood everywhere...and...a...paw.

Massacre Man: Stay here as long as you need brother. We'll head up to the house a dawn, recover what we can. Did you take a look at the shop?

Disease: It's mainly okay. A few windows are smashed but the crafting tools are fine. I should be fine working up there still.

Massacre Man: Damn...

Disease: Yeh.

They're silent for a moment then Massacre Man speaks.

Massacre Man: SHIT! The soldiers-

Disease: Dead. One of their bodies was near the house.

Massacre Man: Wow...

Disease: Did you see anybody run past the house?

Massacre Man: What?

Disease: As I was running down here I saw someone running towards the castle...

Massacre Man: Hmmmm. Could have been a soldier.

Disease: Yeh. It did look like a woman. Monalisa I suppose.

Massacre Man: Lucky Bitch.

Disease: No sign of the masked man though.

Massacre Man: With any luck the dragon killed him too.

Disease: Yeh. You know what. I've had enough!

Massacre Man: What the fuck are you on about?

Disease: That king. The whole castle.

Massacre Man: I think we all have...

Disease: But it's time somebody did something.

Massacre Man: Like what?

Disease: Like tomorrow, we speak to the townsfolk, get a secret meeting. Up at my woodshop.

Massacre Man: You don't mean?

Disease: Yeh. A rebellion.

Fade to a shot of a small building. It has a green cross painted roughly on the wall and a sign saying "Doctor Faustus' Alchemy". Fade to a shot of the inside, apparently in the basement.

Doc Faustus: It is...time.

The room is dimly lit by lanterns on the wall. There are metal cups all around him with various colored liquids. On the table in front of him, a dead body of a man is tied down. Doc is hurriedly rushing around, mixing things, then pouring them into a large bath. It is filled with a slightly luminous green liquid.

Doc Faustus: I must have it this time...I must.

He looks to a book, then runs over to the bath and quickly pours in a cup full of salt.

Doc Faustus: Nearly...

Finally, he runs over to a plate and grabs a rotten apple. He throws it in there. It quickly fizzes and disappears. He looks to the body.

Doc Faustus: Please. This time.

He runs to the wall and grabs a large level. He pulls it and the table tips gently. The body rolls off, into the bath of liquid. It fizzes and spits violently, glowing bright then fading. Eventually, it begins frothing madly, to the point that it's bubbling over the side. Doc's eyes widen slightly, then fall again when he sees the body is exactly the same. No movement.

Doc Faustus: Dammit!

He bangs the wall with his fist. The torch above the bath shakes, and a tiny piece of burning wood drops down, into the bath. As it hits the liquid, a bright white flash fills the room. Doc gasps and runs over to the body. Nothing happens for a second then...flickering. His eyes flicker madly for a moment, then close again. Doc's face lights up as he smiles.

Doc Faustus: Yes...YES!

He grabs the torch off of the wall and touches it to the glowing liquid. No flash. Nothing happens.

Doc Faustus: What? I...I had it. Right there. I had it!

He puts the torch back, but as he does so, gets a splinter. He pulls the tiny piece of wood from his hand and throws it at the wall. It bounces off and falls into the bath, above the man's face. The blood from the wood dances as it falls through the liquid. As Doc watches curiously, the swirling red blood falls into the man's open mouth, and as it does, his eyes flicker once more.

Doc Faustus: My God...

Doc squeezes the pin prick hole in his hand and yet another drop of blood drips out. It swirls through the liquid once more, into the dead mouth, and this time, his mouth begins gently shaking, akin to a very cold person. Doc rushes up the stairs and runs back down, holding a dead chicken.

Doc Faustus: Come on...

He drives a knife into the carcass and a large amount of blood drips out. As it goes into the man, his eyes stop flickering, and stay wide open. His mouth closes. He looks around. His arms twitch, then reach out, grabbing the sides of the bath. Doc Faustus is smiling widely. He looks behind him, to a painting of a woman about his age on the wall.

Doc Faustus: Soon, my dear sweet Rayne, we will be together.

Doc turns back to the body of the man, laughing maniacally as the corpse, whose skin has become a little less green, lift's itself out of the tub. Ending credits role.

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of Monalisa, she's running down the hill where the sheep were killed. She looks slightly beaten up. She runs past the town, along the road and through the castle gates, past the injured body of V. She rushes through the castle, past guards and straight to a room that The Return is sitting in. He looks up at her.

The Return: What the hell just happened out there?

Monalisa: Drag...on...kill...d...men.

The Return: You have five seconds to start making sense.

Monalisa: We...wer-

The Return: Four.

Monalisa: Waitin...fo-

The Return: Three

Monalisa: The...drag-

The Return: Two.

Monalisa: I...t...cru-

The Return: One.

Monalisa: THE DRAGON WENT INSANE!

The Return stands up abruptly.

The Return: I gathered that much! But how?!

Monalisa: I don't know! My men and I were waiting for the masked slaughterer when the Dragon flew towards the woods. They tried to run. It...crushed them.

The Return: Foolish men! What have you been teaching them? Cowardice?!

Monalisa: With all due respect, those men knew they had no chance against a dragon.

The Return: Don't give me that pile of horse crap, they've been trained to handle situations like that. You must have taught them otherwise.

He stares her down. She looks away.

The Return: I knew it! What have you been teaching them?

Monalisa: I simply said that in at the end of it all, they're lives are more important-

The Return: Than what? They're honor? Their kingdom? I knew giving a woman this kind of power was foolish.

Monalisa: If they let themselves die, they're of no help! They needed to try and save themselves!

The Return: And look where that got them! Nothing more than badger food now.

Monalisa: How dare you speak of them like that?

The Return: How dare me?

Monalisa: They're out there risking their lives. Not like you, coward, hiding within these old walls.

The two look at each other, glaring, then suddenly, The Return back hand slaps her. She falls to the floor.

Monalisa: You monster!

The Return: I've a good mind to feed you to the dogs!

Monalisa: Do it then! Prove to everyone that you're afraid of someone seeing you for what you really are!

The Return: Guards...take her to the dungeons.

Guards gather around her, grabbing her by her arms.

The Return: Be sure to give her the one underneath the sewer.

Monalisa: You will regret this! Sooner than you think, your kingdom will come crashing down!

The guards carry her out. She doesn't fight them, merely laughs. The Return puts a thoughtful hand to his chin, turns to a guard who is looking at him warily, and spits.

The Return: What are you looking at. WELL?!

Guard: Nothing.

The Return: Good. Then tell me what that is out there?!

He points to the window. The guard warily walks over, then speaks.

Guard: I think I just saw a flash of light at the alchemist's.

The Return walks up behind him.

The Return: Take a closer look.

He pushes the guard out of the window. The guard screams as he goes down, splatting down next to V. Hammerfan is talking to a guard next to it.

Hammerfan: Thankyou so much for informing me, I'll take goo-

The body crashes down beside her.

Hammerfan: DEAR LORD!

The guard looks up.

Guard: That would have been the king. Glad I'm not on royal duty tonight.

Hammerfan is shaking slightly.

Hammerfan: Th-th-th-thankyou once...aga...again.

Guard: There is a cart waiting for you.

Suddenly, the picture rewinds, it shows V laying there, then him being put down by Psycom, Psycom carrying him through the town, past Despare. It rewinds to the point that they're just leaving the castle. The camera shoots from the castle towards the volcano. It reaches a cave like opening. Roshiq and Gore and walking in.

Gorephobia: I can't believe it...

Roshiq: Well you must.

Gorephobia: It's just, I've lived here my entire life. And in these past few days, everything has changed...

Roshiq: It's what is right.

Gorephobia: I know that...

They walk far down the cave. They reach a large opening. It's now lit up by torches on the walls. There are creatures of all kinds bustling around. Small trolls, cute fluffy creatures, huge slimy ogres, shades, Centaurs, Ents, unicorns, three headed dogs, imps, green skinned women that look like witches, large spiders, and one or two things that look like people but have odd things, such as tentacles of crab claws. There are strange things that look like stone gargoyles flying around and many ordinary animals. There are even some trees down there, but they don't look like anything humans plant.

Gorephobia: My god...

Roshiq: Yes.

Gorephobia: There are so many of them...

Roshiq: Yes...and this isn't the whole lot. Some are in other caves, training for the assault.

Gorephobia: I...I can't believe it.

Roshiq: It's about time you started believing what is in front of you. The time will soon come for you to fully prove yourself.

Gorephobia: I...I know.

A gargoyle like creature flies into the cave, past Roshiq and Gore. It flies up to a large bell hanging at the top of the cavern. It rings the bell. Immediately, the creatures become silent and walk down separate passages.

Gorephobia: What was that?

Roshiq: I'm not sure...some kind of attack. Flite!

The Gargoyle flies down to them.

Roshiq: What is it?

The Gargoyle has an oddly sophisticated accent.

Flite: A group of soldiers. About thirty. One large one. Heading this way. The V leads them.

Roshiq: They must be trying to recover the dragon...

Flite: The dragon is in position.

Roshiq: Good. Do what must be done to get rid of them.

Gorephobia Don't kill them! Get rid of them, but do not kill them. Enough blood has been spilt already.

Roshiq: My friend, we are about to go to war. It is necessary.

Gorephobia: Is it? All we need to do it get to The Return! I know these men. I've met many soldiers. They do not fight because they think it's right. They fight because once they joined the castle, there is no leaving! And V doesn't even want a part in the war!

Roshiq: He was sent to kill me.

Gorephobia: But only because he wants money. He knows little of what this war is about. He doesn't believe in either side.

Roshiq: ENOUGH! We have limited time. The shades are ready to go! We must move.

Gorephobia: Where do I go?

Roshiq: Follow the passage nearest the tree. You will find Rét down there.

Gore walks away. As he gets to the passage, he turns.

Gorephobia: Don't kill them!

He walks off down it. Roshiq looks at Flite.

Roshiq: Tell the shades...eliminate them.

Flite nods and flies down the passageway. Roshiq looks to the passage leading out of the volcano.

Roshiq: Soon...this kingdom will fall, and the rightful owners shall rule. And the humans...will be no more.

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the Island. It's daytime, fade to a shot of Dante, standing on a hill, looking across at a different small town. The wind dramatically blows his long white hair. He puts on his helmet, chuckles to himself, then starts running down the hill towards the village. Fade to a shot of the town. Fade into the market square, everyone is bustling around. Pinkfloyd is at her stall, charming customers, Disease is selling his pieces of woodwork in an attempt to make enough money to rebuild the house. He's selling a chair to Chronogrl.

Chronogrl: Thankyou, this will look very nice in the corner of the Inn!

Disease: No problem.

Chronogrl: And again, sorry to hear about last night. It's disgraceful...

Disease: I'm glad you feel that way.

Chronogrl: Pardon?

Disease: Listen, take this and open it at home. You cans show your sister but nobody else.

He hands her a small envelope.

Chronogrl: Okay...

She walks off with the chair. The camera follows her into the inn. She puts the chair down and walks up stairs. She goes into her room and reads the letter. Disease's voice plays.

Disease: Dear friend,

As I know, many of you are quite frankly sick of the way we are treated by our leaders. Well, after last night I have decided enough is enough. It's time we stood together and rebelled. If you do not wish to take part in this rebellion, that is fine, but I ask you, please burn this letter and speak of it to nobody. You have been given this because you are trusted.

If you wish to be part of the rebellion, then at nightfall, walk up to my wood shop. It is about quater of a mile into the woods, there is a small path leading to it. Our plans will be discussed there. Now, once again, please burn this letter so as nobody who is likely to put a stop to this willget their hands on it.

Yours Faithfully,

Disease

She gasps, then walks out of her room.

Chronogrl: Hammer. Hammer!

The voice sounds from V's room.

Hammerfan: In here.

Chronogrl walks into the room. V is on the bed, sleeping. Hammerfan is gently pouring some medicine into his mouth.

Chronogrl: How is he?

Hammerfan: He was pretty badly hurt last night. But his breathing has steadied, and his wounds are dressed.

Chronogrl: Good...

Hammerfan: What did you want?

Chronogrl: Take a look at this.

Hammerfan reads the note.

Hammerfan: Oh dear...

Chronogrl: What?

Hammerfan: Those poor people are going to be killed.

Chronogrl: What?!

Hammerfan: Well, you don't expect this to work. The castle will slaughter them like lambs.

Chronogrl: You mean your not going?

Hammerfan: Are you?

Chronogrl: Of course! It's about time somebody stood up and said "Enough!" I can't miss this. We have to get our honor back!

Hammerfan: Sister, please don't. Don't you realize how risky it is?

Chronogrl: I'd feel safer in a group, ready to fight than just waiting here for the inevitable day that they send the soldiers to get us "in line".

Hammerfan: What's got into you? You're not usually like this.

Chronogrl: I've just had enough! The castle are demanding free ale for their soldiers, they've been putting up taxes to a foolish rate and if anybody speaks out they disappear!

Hammerfan: Exactly! So please, don't speak out! I couldn't live without you! You're my little sister.

Chronogrl: My mind is made up.

Hammerfan: I respect that...

The two are silent for a moment, then Hammerfan looks down at the mattress.

Chronogrl: What?

Hammerfan: What on Earth is that?

Chronogrl: I can't see anything.

Hammerfan reaches down and pulls out Geddy's sword from under the mattress.

Hammerfan: My word...

Chronogrl: That's ged-

Hammerfan rushes up to her and puts a hand on her mouth.

Hammerfan: Don't say it! Somebody could be listening.

Hammerfan looks at the sword in detail.

Chronogrl: That's amazing...I never thought it was real.

Hammerfan: Neither did I.

Chronogrl: Why does he have it?

Hammerfan: Oh no.

Chronogrl: WHAT?!

Hammerfan: He must be going to kill the creatures!

Chronogrl: Well, yeh. Isn't that why he's here?

Hammerfan: no, but if he's got this. It must be serious.

Chronogrl: Oh yeh...it must be-

Hammerfan: Something really powerful.

They look down at the sleeping V.

Hammerfan: We can't let him do that.

Chronogrl: Why not? He has the sword, it'll be a piece of cake.

Hammerfan: Think about it will you?!

Chronogrl: I don't get it.

Hammerfan: Look at him! He's as weak as a mouse right now.

Chronogrl That's not our problem. I know he's nice and all but-

Hammerfan: I'm not letting him.

Chronogrl: What's got into you? Since when did you become all protective over our guests.

Hammerfan: It's nothing.

Chronogrl: Oh you don't!

Hammerfan: What?

Chronogrl: I thought you had a thing for Despare.

Hammerfan: You're crazy.

Chronogrl: Hammer and V, sitting in a tree, lifted her skirt and showed her knee!

Hammerfan: Oh grow up!

Chronogrl: Why? You have enough wrinkles for both of us!

Hammerfan: You have three seconds to leave or I step on Ripley!

Chronogrl: Really? RIPLEY!

The creature runs into the room, looks at Chronogrl and meows happily, the at Hammerfan and it's eyes glow red and it begins hissing, showing it's mouth of fangs.

Chronogrl: Good girl! Who's a li'l hoochie poochie puddy tat? YOU ARE!

She picks up the bald creature and carries it away. Hammerfan looks back at V, smiles, rubs his forehead, then walks out of the room, carrying the sword. She takes a burlap sack from her room and walks out the back, to the river running behind the Inn. She picks up some rocks, puts them in the sack and carefully drops it in the river. The sword sinks down. The camera follows it. As it touches the river bed, the ground begins glowing, then suddenly, a shockwave travels through the ground. The camera shows the volcano, which shakes with the shockwave, then settles. Ending credits role.

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the hills. A horse and cart are traveling along a path through them. Fade to a closer shot. The driver is Crabapple. The cart is shown to be full of apples. He talks to the horse.

Crabapple: Nearly there Granny Smith. This is the one I was telling you about!

He turns the horse around a bend.

Crabapple: Every time I come to it there are more and more apples. And they're so big!

The horse carries on around the bend until up ahead, a large red tree appears. They drive up to it.

Crabapple: I can make so much money with these. Poo nuts to those other apples!

They arrive at the tree. It's leaves are golden and the apples a mixture of Red, Green and Yellow.

Crabapple: This is it Granny Smith!

He climbs off the cart and walks up to the tree. He goes back to the cart and pulls out a sack with some straps on it. He ties the straps to his back and starts climbing. Eventually, he's filled the sack, he climbs down and puts the apples in his cart. He climbs back up. The camera shows two small trolls walking up a hill. They get near the top, and the apple tree is in sight. They see crabapple.

Troll: Oh my.

The trolls run to a bush and hide behind it, looking through.

Troll: What do you think he's doing to my tree?

Troll 2: What do you think? He's harvesting the apples.

Troll: Is he one of ours?

Troll 2: Doesn't look like it. No...he's definitely a human. Probably from HDC.

Troll: Does he know those are Trollseed apples?

Troll 2: If he did, I doubt he'd be taking them.

Troll: What should we do?

Troll 2: Leave him. That cart of his is nearly full. There are plenty of apples for us.

Troll: What do you think will happen if he eats them?

Troll 2: I'm not sure. But remember when the unicorn ate one of the shades carrots?

Troll: No?

Troll 2: I suppose you would have been too young...

Troll: What happened?

Troll 2: You know that black, tar like stuff about halfway down the Gig Tunnel?

Troll: Oh yeh.

Troll 2: That was ol' Fredrico the Unicorn. He's still alive. Nobody dares to touch him.

Troll: So that guy could wipe out the whole island?

Troll 2: By the looks of it.

Troll: But I don't want that! I just want the castle over thrown. The humans are okay.

Troll 2: Well, maybe they're just for him.

Cut to Crabapple, talking to his horse.

Crabapple: You know Granny Smith, not only am I going to sell these, I'm going to make it my goal that everybody in town buys some.

Cut back to the trolls.

Troll: I suppose. And even if he does plan to feed them, maybe if it's the first time they've eaten one, it won't make a difference.

Cut back to Crabapple.

Crabapple: I've been using this tree for nearly two months now! I think most of the town have already had a few Granny Smith.

Cut back to the trolls.

Troll 2: Even so, I think we should cut this tree down so he doesn't get any more.

Cut back to Crabapple.

Crabapple: Granny Smith, I just had an idea. To save us making this journey every two weeks, I'll use some of the seeds to plant a tree of my own. This tree has nearly doubled in size since I first used it, I don't think they take long to grow.

Cut back to the trolls.

Troll 2: How do you think he'd feel if he found out that the seeds have trolls blood in them.

Troll: Is that why the sap is red?

Troll 2: I think so. It has troll blood in it.

Cut back to Crabapple. He pours another sack full of apples into the cart.

Crabapple: That'll do. Come on Granny, let's go back to town. There's a good hoochie poochie horse.

He gets in the cart and steers the horse back. Fade to a shot of Doc Faustus. He's in the basement. The body is on the table. He's in the corner, a small hand on the table. He pours some of the liquid onto the hand, then takes a small piece of wood to the fire in the corner of the room. He lights it and takes it back to the hand. He touches the flame to it. The bright flash happens. He puts the piece of wood back in the fire, then walks to a small basket. He opens it, and pulls out a rabbit. He uses a cleaver to cut off it's ear, then puts th rabbit back. He squeezes blood from the ear onto the hand. It twitches, then starts pulling itself along the table. Suddenly, a faint knocking sounds from upstairs.

Doc Faustus: Dammit!

The hand falls off the table proceeds to crawl to the basket. It open it up and the rabbit jumps out, running around frantically.

Doc Faustus: Oh really!

The knocking sounds again, louder. He sighs, then walks up the stairs. He realizes the beaker of liquid is in his hand. He puts it down in the shop on a table and answers the door. Crabapple is standing there.

Crabapple: Apple?

Doc Faustus: Pardon?

Crabapple: I know you're partial to a nice apple. Apple?

Doc Faustus: I'm rather busy.

Crabapple: In which case you need strength. Food gives you strength. Food like fresh fruit!

Crabapple pushes past him into the shop. He sees the liquid.

Crabapple: Ooooh, a new medicine?

Doc Faustus: Huh? Oh! THAT! Erm, well, that is...er...a-

Crabapple: Glass of...

Doc Faustus: Rapid...Growth...serum.

Crabapple: Really?

Doc Faustus: Yes. But, er, what was it you were saying, I'm rather busy.

Crabapple: Apple?

Doc Faustus: Maybe tomorrow.

Crabapple: That's a shamey wamey. Say, can I borrow some of your ruptured growth system?

Doc Faustus: It's rapid growth serum. And I'm afraid not. It still has a few...kinks.

A crash sounds from the basement.

Doc Faustus: OH GOD! Well, er, nice seeing you! BYE!

Crabapple: Bye.

He walks out. Doc Faustus runs down to the basement. The front door slowly, quietly opens. Crabapple pokes his head in, looks around, then runs to the miracle growth serum. Doc Faustus can be heard shouting.

Doc Faustus: NO! Get out of the bath!

Crabapple picks up some the rapid growth serum and quickly bites into an apple. He pulls out a few seeds from the middle, then drops them into the liquid. He pours the serum out onto the work top and takes the seeds, then runs out. As he's walking to the next house, a crow swoops down and hits his head. He shouts out and falls down. The seeds fall from his hands.

Crabapple: Silly flapadoodle.

He picks up all but one of the seeds, which is hidden in some dirt. As he walks off, the crow swoops down, picks up the seed and flies into the air. It keeps it in it's mouth for a moment, then spits it out. The seed falls down, eventually landing in some dirt. Rain begins to fall, hiding the seed as the dirt turns to mud. The camera zooms out revealing it to be in the graveyard of the church. Ending credits role.

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the destroyed woods. Fade into the still standing trees. An outside shot of Disease's shop. Fade to the inside. All of the work benches and tools have been moved to the back. Chairs are in the middle. Disease is at the front of the group. There are about thirty people in there. They include Alkytrio, Crabapple, Chronogrl, Pinkfloyd, Massacre Man and Doc Faustus. They are all sitting, listening to Disease.

Disease: And so, I propose that instead of an all guns blazing apporach, we play it more subtle. If we were to go to the castle and begin shouting, they wouldn't hesitate to kill every one of us. We must send an anonymous letter to the castle warning them that if things do not change, then things will change. We will continue to provide for each other, but anybody else in the town who isn't here will have to feel the force of our rebellion!

Chronogrl: I don't understand what you're getting at?

Disease: All of us here provide something for the castle. Massacre Man gives a certain amount of meat, I send up pieces of woodwork, you yourself provide them with ale. And of course, then there are taxes.

Alkytrio: You can't be serious!

Disease: I am! It's one thing to provide them with material objects, but they need our money, and if we simply refuse, then they will get desperate to our plight.

Pinkfloyd: But then, surely they'll just send their soldiers down to get it, by force if they feel the need. How is that any different to us marching up to the castle.

Disease: Because if there is a conflict, it will be on our terms. On our ground. We will have the upper hand.

Pinkfloyd: Will we? There are thirty of us in here. We'd be so outnumbered-

Massacre Man: Yes, we would be out numbered, but if we have things ready...

Disease: Exactly brother. Gorephobia's blacksmiths may be deserted but it's still full of weapons. I've been keeping an eye on it. Each one of us arms ourselves. There are swords, battle axes, shields, a few pieces of armor. I can craft bows, there are a good few arrows there.

Massacre Man: And if I've been sending them sub standard meat they won't be in any good shape to fight either...

Alkytrio: I was skeptical, but I think I'm convinced.

There is a murmur of uncertainty from the crowd. He stands up and walks to the front.

Alkytrio: No, really, think about it. It all fits. And they won't send the entire army to get us. Once we take out enough of their men they'll listen to us. It's not like their attacking an enemy town. They need us. They can't just go killing us. At least, not if we go about it the right way.

Disease: Exactly! Who's with me.

Massacre Man: I am.

Alkytrio: I am.

Chronogrl stands up.

Alkytrio: I am!

The whole room is quickly on their feet.

Disease: It won't be easy, and there may be some casualties. And if things are getting out of hand, do not hesitate to stop fighting. But by the end of this week, they will know we cannot be pushed around any longer!

The whole room cheers. Fade to a shot of the island. It's day time now. Fade to a shot of the hill Dante had been on earlier, near the other town. Pinkfloyd is going up it, her white horse dragging her and her merchandise behind it. They get to the top. Pinkfloyd gasps.

Pinkfloyd: Oh no...HELP! HELP!!!

The camera shows the town, now nothing more than a smoking, black pile of rubble. She goes to turn the horse around but catches something out of the corner of her eye. Somebody is moving around in the town. They look weak. She leads her horse down the hill, through the rubble. She reaches the person. It's an old man, covered in ash. His face is red and badly burned.

Pinkfloyd: Get on, I'm taking you to safety!

The man shakes his head.

Pinkfloyd: Quick!

Man: No use...too late.

Pinkfloyd: What happened here.

Man: So sudden. No help...

Pinkfloyd: I'm here now. I can help. Is there anybody else here?

The old man coughs and shakes his head.

Pinkfloyd: I can help you.

Man: It is no use...I am nearly dead.

His eyes widen and he grabs Pinkfloyd. He pulls her closer.

Man: Beware...the inferno.

Pinkfloyd: What?

Man: The inferno...

His eyes go white and veins appear on his wrinkled face.

Man: NO! NO! DEAR GOD! PLEASE, NO!

He grips her.

Pinkfloyd: Somebody help!

The man gasps, then goes limp. He is dead.

Pinkfloyd: My God...

She looks around her. There are dead bodies everywhere, all burnt up. No building is left intact. Small fires are still burning. She picks up the man, puts him on a small piece of free space on the cart full of gems, then climbs onto the white horse, and rides away. Fade to a shot of the castle. Dante is in a room with Phantomstranger. Dante is looking at his hand. It is covered with ash.

Dante: How are the men?

Phantomstranger: They're not ready. They just don't have the experience yet.

Dante: What do you mean? They've been getting trained for years.

Phantomstranger: Yes. For humans. These beasts are like nothing the men have had to fight before.

Dante: What can we expect in a fight?

Phantomstranger: I have no idea. Having never seen a creature fighting the men, I simply can't judge.

Dante: This does pose a dilemma.

Phantomstranger: Jeremiah, I did have an idea.

Dante: Which is?

Phantomstranger: Well, though you have fought many creatures valiantly, it is simply far to many different types to teach every soldier on your own.

Dante: What are you getting at?

Phantomstranger: I have experience.

Dante: Phantom, friend, I do not know if you're in any state-

Phantomstranger: I may not be able to do much due to...this.

He lifts his right hand to show it to only be a hook.

Phantomstranger: And I may not be able to maneuver well. But having the use of a knee, or both hands isn't everything. I can still teach them basic ideas on different creatures. Hell, it was fighting a troll that got me this way, I can teach them how to not get in this situation.

Dante: If you're sure you're ready...

Phantomstranger: I am. I've been thinking about it for a while now. You take one half, teach them as many different creatures as you can, and I do the same. By the end we should have an army ready to deal with anything.

Dante: You are a good man Phantom...and damn, do I respect you.

Phantomstranger: Thankyou Jeremiah. There is something else I need to talk to you about...

Dante: Yes?

Phantomstranger: I know you haven't told me everything. I have seen things that I have looked the other way at, but I must know, as a friend, do you really believe in this?

Dante: What's this?

Phantomstranger: What we're fighting for. The in keeping of our current system. Because I have seen things that have made me question where your allegiances lie.

Dante: I suggest, as a friend, that you leave now.

Phantomstranger: Yes...sir.

Phantomstranger walks out. Dante looks out the window, to the town. Pinkfloyd can be seen riding towards HDC. He looks out towards the volcano.

Dante: The clock is ticking...

Dante walks away from the window, and out the door Phantomstranger did. The screen fades to a dark blue area. It looks like a cave. Faint scream can be heard. A woman's laughter sounds, and a female hand appears in front of the camera. She clicks her fingers. Cut to V in the bed. Suddenly, his eyes open, and his wounds begin to heal. Cut back to the cave. The camera shows the side view of a womans mouth.

Woman: It certainly is Dante...

Opening credits role. The screen is blank and the words "One week later" appear on the screen. Fade to a shot of the island. It's evening and some people are in the church graveyard. Somehow, a large tree, similar to the one Crabapple got the apples from. It is already about twenty feet tall.

Chronogrl: I think I can actually see it getting taller...

Massacre Man: I know. What should we do?

Pinkfloyd: Well, I know I'm not going to eat apples from it.

Massacre Man: Yeh. I'll stick to the ones from Crabby's shop.

Chronogrl: I wonder if Despare planted it before he took off.

Pinkfloyd: And it grew in just over a week?

Massacre Man: I reckon this is something to do with the creatures.

Pinkfloyd: The creatures? They haven't set foot in this town for decades.

Massacre Man: Have you got a better explanation?

Chronogrl: Well, I best be off. Hammerfan will be needing some help.

Pinkfloyd: I think I should go as well.

Massacre Man: Pink. Are you sure you're okay? You know, after last week?

Pinkfloyd: Huh? Oh..yeh. I am. Don't worry. Just a little shaken up. Say, what do you think they're gonna do?

She nods up towards the castle.

Pinkfloyd: I sent up some pretty badly made jewelry the other day, and I haven't paid my taxes at all.

Massacre Man: I'm not sure. I haven't heard a word from them, I don't think anybody has. I can't think why.

Pinkfloyd: The sun's nearly down. I really have to go. Go talking to you.

Massacre Man: You too Pink. You too.

She walks away. When she's gone Massacre Man walks up to the tree and bangs his hand on it.

Massacre Man: Stupid fucker! Just tell her how you fucking feel.

He pulls his hand away from the tree. Some sap is sticking to his hand.

Massacre Man: FUCK! Wait a sec. That smells like...

He sniffs it closely.

Massacre Man: Blood. Eugh! Oh my God!

He runs away from the tree. Fade to a shot of the castle. There is a loud whistling noise. Fade into The Return, he's in a chair, covering his ears.

The Return: When will the damn noise stop?

Guard: It's getting louder your majesty!

The Return: I'm not bloody deaf, I can hear that!

The door opens and Phantomstranger walks in.

The Return: What is it?!

Phantomstranger: Sire, I thought you should know, the army is ready to fight! There is at least Twenty people who know how to get each creature!

The Return: That is good news. Now leave!

Phantomstranger nods, then backs out.

Guard: When will the walls stop singing?

The Return: What did you say?!

Guard: The walls Sire! Isn't there a way to make them stop?

Guard #2: The castle can sense impending doom!

The Return: Silence you fool! We are in little danger! The creatures will be killed. The walls are just walls! THEY ARE NOT SINGING!

Guard #2: With all due respect, what else could cause the noise your majesty?!

The Return gets up and walks over to him.

The Return: Saying, "with all due respect," before a sentence doesn't excuse you from it's disrespectful nature. Now get out of my sight!

Guard: I have to leave!

The Return: What?

Guard: I was told, my life was of the most value.

The Return: Been talking to Monalisa down in the cells have we?

Guard: Sire, we are not going to win this!

The guard opens the door and starts running. The Return shouts down the corridor.

The Return: KILL HIM! Kill the coward!

A man with a sword steps from the side, catching the deserter off guard. He slashes the sword, a glint of metal then a spray of red. Blood pours from the hole where his head was.

The Return: I am sick and tired of cowards in the castle! YOU!

A soldier walking the halls turns.

The Return: Get three dragons ready, each with riders. Tell them to fly to the mouth and block it off. Knock boulders down from the volcano!

Soldier: What? There is no time Sire! They have not prepared enough.

The Return: Come here!

The soldier walks over to The Return. As he reaches them, The Return swiftly grabs his head and twists it, breaking the mans neck.

The Return: YOU!

He shouts to the guard who decapitated the other guard.

The Return: Tell Phantomstranger to get the army prepared! Tonight, we go to war. I want every soldier ready to fight!

The guard runs away. The Return takes his silent whistle from his pocket and blows into it. Chucker and the puppies run from around a corner. The Return points to the two bodies. The dogs begin feeding. Fade to a shot of the sky. Two gargoyles are flying along.

Gargoyle #1: Nearly there!

Gargoyle #2: Do you have the pouch!?

The first gargoyle shows a small pouch to the other.

Gargoyle #2: How do you think the tree grew so big? And how is it getting nutrients?! Bey said it was in a graveyard!

The Camera shoots along and down, until it shows the tree. The view goes down, under the ground. It shows the roots of the tree, branching out far. Each one is going into a coffin. Images of Doc Faustus putting the corpse into the liquid, dropping the flame into the liquid, then blood, then the dead body coming to life. Then a flash of the trolls. It repeats the clip where the troll mentioned the tree having blood, the image of Massacre Man smelling the sap and saying blood, Crabapple dropping the seeds into Doc Faustus' liquid, then the crow spitting the seed into the graveyard, a shot of the large new apple tree, then another shot of it's roots branching into the coffins. Cut to the gargoyles again.

Gargoyle #2: What will the pouch do?

Gargoyle #1: Hopefully, burn the tree. The Trollseed trees are very flammable! The flame travels to every part of it within seconds, killing the roots! It will be gone before long! The humans will barely notice a thing!

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the island. The sun is set now. Fade into the town. The inn is full of people. They are all laughing and singing and shouting happily. Hammerfan and V are talking over the bar. Pinkfloyd is laughing with Massacre Man and a very drunk Disease is Standing on a table, dancing. Fade to a shot of the castle. The scene is very different. Soldiers are matching into position. Flames are lit. The Return is standing in front of them, talking.

The Return: Tonight, many of you will not return! You will give your lives, keeping this island, this brave and powerful island pure! You have each been taught well. You have numbers on your side. You have dragons at your side! You protect the man to your left and he protects you! Tonight, a war will be fought. And we will WIN!

The crowd of soldiers cheer. The camera zooms to the tower where Dante had Psycom brought. Dante is inside, fully dressed in his armor. The walls are still singing. He grabs a loose brick from the window ledge and crushes it in his metal gloved hands. He goes to a wall and pulls down on a lantern. The wall opens up, revealing some stairs. He rushes down them, eventually getting to the dungeons. There is one guard in there. He stands up when he sees Dante come down.

Guard: Evening Sir, shouldn't you b-

Dante kicks the man into a wall and punches his face with enough force to burst his head. Some people in the cells gasp. He walks to one cell in particular. Monalisa is in there, slumped against a wall. She smiles as she sees him.

Monalisa: Jerry.

Dante: Where is he?

Monalisa: Where is who? Be specific.

Dante: Do not play games with me! Where is he?

Monalisa: What makes you think I know?

He takes a key from his pocket and opens the cells. He walks in and stands in front of her.

Monalisa: Oh...you mean my dear son. Why, you know, I'm not exactly sure!

He rushes to her, grabs her by the throat and lifts her up. He stares into her eyes. His have now turned a swirling, orange-red color.

Dante: Do not lie to me! I can see it in your eyes, you know! Now, where is he?

Monalisa: You promise to keep your end of the bargain?

Dante: You know I will, but I cannot if you do not give me the information I need!

Monalisa: I cannot tell you the exact location-

He tightens his grip on her neck.

Monalisa: Because I don't know it! But I know who has him.

Dante: The name!

Monalisa: He has no name, not that I'm aware of. Look east, to the destroyed woods. I met him there, he told me he was keeping my boy, my precious boy! Safe. I told him to stay there, each night, waiting. For you. He worships you. Go there, now, and you will find him.

Dante: Your waiting is finally at an end. You will have him back. Your services have been...useful.

He walks out of the cell and closes the door, locking it.

Monalisa: Wait! Aren't you going to let me out?

Dante: If your information proves to be true...yes.

With that, he walks to the open wall that he came out of. A prisoner speaks.

Prisoner: You...you're insane man! A luney! A loon! You're messed up!

Dante turns to him, smiles slightly, then raises a hand. The torch behind the man suddenly glows brighter and brighter. Eventually, the flames engult the cell, but hiss cell only. The screams eventually die out, and the flames retreat. Dante laughs to himself, then leaves. The wall closes behind him. Fade to a shot of the destroyed woods. Dante rides into them on a black horse. He gets off the steed and walks slowly towards something unseen.

Dante: You have the boy?

The camera turns to show the masked man, the one who killed the sheep. He nods.

Dante: Where?

The man signals for Dante to follow.

Dante: Your name?

Man: Fortunato.

Dante: Why did you take the boy?

Fortunato: I know what you're doing. A woman, came to me...in a dream. Told me everything. I agreed. Wanted to weaken the town, make the take over easier. I frightened them...right? Killing the sheep. It worked didn't it?

Dante: Yes...

Fortunato: Good. I know things aren't right the way they are. They have to change. You can make that happen, right?

Dante: Where is the boy?

Fortunato: Right this way...your majesty.

The two arrive at a small run down hut. Barely big enough to be called a shed. Fortunato opens the door. A boy is in there, no older than eighteen. He is hideously disfigured. The boy is freak.

Freak: YOU!

Dante: Time to come with me...NOW!

Fortunato: Go with him, Freak. He will make things...better.

Freak looks at Fortunato and nods. He gets up to go with Dante.

Dante: Stay here if you wish to live. Keep quiet. They may not rush you.

Fortunato: Yes.

Dante: When this is over, I will come back here. You will be rewarded. But for now...

Dante pulls out a sword and slices off Fortunato's leg.

Freak: Noooorr!

Dante: Fresh human blood is needed for the ceremony.

Dante leaves the hut with the leg. Fortunato lays on the floor, laughing to himself quietly. Cut to a shot of Dante and Freak riding on the black horse back to the castle. Cut to a shot of the mouth. Fade to a large cave inside. Hundreds of creatures are dressed in rough armor suits, with weapons and shields. Roshiq is in the front of them all.

Roshiq: This is it! This is the final day that you will be over looked. THIS. IS. WAR!

The crowd cheers. Cut to a shot of the human army. The Return shouts.

The Return: Tonight is the night you prove yourselves. THIS. IS. WAR!

Somebody blows out a horn. Cut to a shot of the inn. At the sound of the horn, everybody goes quiet. All of them seem to snap sober. The Disease looks around.

Disease: My God...a war. People! We were prepared for a fight. We are prepared for a fight. Get ready. It may not be against the people we thought it would. But we must fight. Get into positions. This isn't a defensive protest any more. THIS. IS. WAR!

The people run out of the inn, each going to get ready for the fight. Cut to a shot of the gargoyles, flying above the island.

Gargoyle #1: Are you sure it's there? I can't see it!

The second gargoyle looks for a moment then points.

Gargoyle #2: THERE! There it is! 3...2...1...DROP THE POUCH!

The camera follows the pouch as it falls. It lands on the tree. The pouch bursts into flames. Instantly, the tree catches. The camera follows the speeding flames as the travel down the tree, along the roots and into the coffins. Flashes keep appearing and moans begin to sound and scratching and the bodies of the dead wake. Cut to a shot of Dante in his tower. Freak is in front of him. Dante takes the leg and squeezes blood from it, onto Freak. He begins to speak some words in a foreign language and slowly, freak begins to glow. Dante places a hand to Freak's chest and the glowing starts flowing into him.

Dante: Yes...YES! Time for the real Dante to arise! Time for the rightful ruler of this land to take over!

The walls begins singing so loudly that they begin to shake.

Dante: TIME FOR THE INFERNO!

Opening credits role. It's night time. A far away shot of the island. Rain is coming down lightly. The camera shows the human army, being led Phantomstranger.

Phantomstranger: There they are men...

Up ahead, some torch lights can be seen coming closer. A soldier near him speaks.

Soldier: Sir. Where is Dante? Shouldn't he be leading us?

Phantomstranger: Yes...he should. I don't know where he is. Nobody does.

Soldier: How are you going to fight?

Phantomstranger: I'm not. After about a mile I'm dropping back and returning to the castle.

Soldier: Who will lead us then?

Phantomstranger: You will my friend. You will.

Soldier: Yes sir!

Phantomstranger: Neverending has been left at the castle for him. He may turn up in time.

Fade to a shot of the creatures. There are a mixture of creatures on the front line. They are being led by a large minotaur like creature. There are many trolls near the front too. The camera goes into the sky, then shoots behind the army. Eventually it gets to the volcano. The camera goes far inside it, eventually reaching a room that Gorephobia and Roshiq are in. There is a strange hairless hawk like creature in there.

Hawk: News...just...came. Their leader, Dan...te. He isn't...leading...them!

Roshiq: Are you sure?

Hawk: Yes.

Roshiq: That is excellent news! He was a large threat to us. Tell them to increase their marching speed. You never know, he may return. We want to be there before that happens.

The hawk nods and flies away.

Gorephobia: Do the soldiers stand a chance?

Roshiq: HA! Not a hope in hell my friend.

Gorephobia puts his face in his hands. Fade to a shot of the town. People are on rooftops, crudely armed with weapons not suited to them. Disease and Massacre Man are on the roof of the butchers, Pinkfloyd is with Chronogrl on the roof of the inn. Others are on their rooftops. Fade to the inside of the inn. V is dressed in his burnt armor, bustling around. Hammerfan is have a drink of cocoa, shaking.

V: What did you do with it?

Hammerfan: I told you, I haven't got it!

V: You moved it! I need it now!

Hammerfan: Why do you need it? There are other swords at Gorephobia's shop.

V: I told you, this is the only sword capable of killing their leader. He is a man of magic, powerful magic. This is the only way.

Hammerfan: The army are fighting the other creatures with ordinary swords!

V: Yes! And they will be slaughtered! The only reason ordinary swords will work is because over the generations, they have lost some of their magic ability! They are so far off the butterfly that they've weakened.

Hammerfan: Please don't! You'll be killed.

V: When I came here, I was just looking for some money. But that time has passed. Being here, with all of you, I...I don't know. I feel I belong. And this is my calling. He must be stopped.

Hammerfan frowns, and a tear runs down her cheek.

Hammerfan: Look...look outside. I put it in the river.

V: Why would you do that?

She points to the back door.

Hammerfan: Hurry! You need to get there in time. The creatures will be upon us soon.

V: Thankyou.

He runs to the back door.

V: And for the love of God, defend yourself!

He runs out the back door. The black river is in front of him, running strongly.

V: No...

On the wind, the faint sound of a woman's laughter, then a click sound. Before his eyes, the river opens up. The water literally stops running, and there is a gap in front of him. And sure enough, in the water, the glinting sword is laying. It is glowing slightly. He rushes down and picks it out, then runs back up. As he does so, the water closes back up behind him. Cut to V, riding on a brown, large horse, up a hill so as to go around the large battle that is to commence. Fade to a shot of the castle. Fade into Dante's tower. He still has his hand on Freak's chest. Freak's face is looking slightly more normal, his large tumors disappeared. He is also glowing less. Dante, on the other hand, is engulfed in white light. Only his basic outline can be seen. Suddenly, his eyes open. They are dancing flames.

Dante: Almost time...

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the island. Fade into a large field. The torches of the two armies can be seen. They are very close to each other. Cut to a shot of the human army. They are led by the soldier who had been talking to Phantomstranger. Cut to a shot of the Creatures. They are led by the minotaur. The two armies stop, and wait. Flying above the creatures are a large amount of gargoyles and other flying creatures. The Soldier leading the humans cries out. The minotaur lets out an almighty roar. Horns sound and the two forces rush to meet each other. When they do it's a mess of arrows, swords, axes, spears, clashing shields, collapsing horses, blood splats everywhere, people shouting as their limbs are cut off. The soldier who was leading is fighting the minotaur. He is quickly cut in half. Flames fly everywhere. Gargoyles swoop down. The creatures are pushing the soldiers back. They're gaining ground. Several soldiers try to run away but are quickly killed by their own men. A large roar fills the night as three Dragons jump into the air, gliding down on the creatures, knocking them over and engulfing them in flames. A dozen gargoyles rush towards one of them but are quickly taken out. Fade to a shot of the town. The rain is coming down heavier there. The people are on their rooftops. They hear the sounds of the dragon.

Disease: They will be here within the hour...and we will be ready.

Massacre Man points to the graveyard, something is stirring.

Massacre Man: What the fuck is that?

Disease: I...I'm not sure.

Massacre Man: Could be the remains of the tree.

Disease: No...it's moving to smoothly to be crackling wood. Somebody check!

Crabapple shouts across to them.

Crabapple: What be that?

Disease: Not sure!

Crabapple: Let ol' crabby check!

He goes down the stairs and runs out of the shop. He goes over to the graveyard, into the darkness. Everything is silent for a moment then...

Crabapple: ARRRRGGGHHH! OH MY APPLE!

He runs out. Disease jumps down from the roof of the butchers, landing heavily. He gets up and runs over to Crabapple. He takes a torch from the wall of the apothecary. As he gets there, he gasps in horror. Five corpses are holding onto Crabapple, munching away at his flesh. Many more are wandering around. When they see Disease, they rush over to him. He slices with his axe, cutting them in half, cutting off legs. He crabs crabapple's arm and pulls him away, chopping the undead from him. They follow, walking very quickly. Disease picks up Crabapple, putting him on his shoulder and running.

Disease: HELP! THERE ARE ZOMBIES!

Massacre Man: WHAT?!

Chronogrl: Did you say Zombies?

Disease: Help! Crabapple's hurt!

They're following us!

The undead follow them, moaning and groaning. Doc Faustus gasps when he sees them.

Doc Faustus: Oh dear...oh dear!

He rushes back down into the shop, then to the cellar.

Doc Faustus: Honey...we have trouble.

The Camera turns, showing Rayne laying on a rough bed. Unlike the other zombies she is fully formed.

Rayne: What is it?

Doc Faustus: There...are more. Loads more.

Rayne: More what?

Doc Faustus: Undead! I don't know how! I say the flashes earlier. I hoped it was lightning. Somehow the whole graveyard is alive.

Rayne: What's the problem?

Doc Faustus: They're not like you! They're fresh! You've had enough blood to sustain yourself like a normal human now! They haven't. And...they're hungry.

Rayne: Oh dear...

Doc Faustus: I knew I went too far! I never should have-

A crash sounds from up stairs.

Rayne: What was that?

Doc Faustus: I don't know...

He runs up the stairs and is met with the groaning of a very thin, old looking undead. When it sees him, it's eyes light up. It runs towards him, arms out stretched.

Doc Faustus: It's them!

He pulls the mace from his side and swings it at the creatures head. It ducks and he smashes some vials behind it. They mix on the floor to make a foul smelling substance. The smell seems to draw the undead creature. It changes direction, going towards the puddle of chemicals. Doc Faustus takes the oppurtunity to smash it's brains out. The body falls limply to the floor.

Doc Faustus: What have I done?

Cut to a shot of the outside. All of the townsfolk who were part of the rebellion are fighting against the zombies, who just keep on coming. Pinkfloyd is stabbing one in the head with a dagger. Massacre Man is fending off half a dozen nearby. The undead are smashing windows, bashing down doors. They don't seem to feel pain.

Chronogrl: This is ridiculous!

A scream sounds from the inn. She runs back into it. There are undead everywhere. They are drinking the beer and appear to be stumbling around.

Chronogrl: Hammer!

She uses her battle axe to in capacitate some zombies. She rushes up the stairs, into Hammerfan's room. There are two undead in there. One is on her, trying to bite her neck, the other is biting at her leg.

Chronogrl: RIPLEY!

Without warning, the cat like creature rushes into the room. It jumps on the zombie eating hammerfan's leg and begins scratching away at it's neck. Within seconds it has made a hole which it slinks into. Chronogrl uses her axe to get rid of the other undead. She buries the blade in it's skull, blood squirting everywhere. As the body falls to the floor, Ripley bursts from the rib cage of the other zombie.

Hammerfan: I...I can't believe it. I never thought the creatures looked like that.

Chronogrl: I thinks that they're not the creatures. These are...zombies.

Hammerfan: But how?

Cut to a shot of Doc Faustus. He is in the basement. The basement door is boarded shut. Some undead outside it are scratching to get in. Doc Faustus is bustling around, pouring things into the bath.

Rayne: What are you doing?

Doc Faustus: I made this mess...I...I have to finish it.

Rayne: But how?

Fade to a shot of the castle. Dante is in the tower. He is a bright white colour, so bright that the normal looking teenager in front of him who was once freak, is covering his eyes. Swirling orange colors are moving around on Dante's bright white skin.

Dante: Nearly there...

He whistles loudly then, without warning, runs over to the window. He jumps out of it and falls a long way down. Just before he hits the ground, Neverending swoops underneath him. Dante lands with a thud on the dragon, but the long fall doesn't seem to have affected him.

Dante: Next stop...the Volcano.

The dragon flies high above the island. He goes over the town where the people are fighting the undead, above the battlefield, where the creatures are gaining large amounts of ground on the soldiers. There is a significantly smaller amount of soldiers now. Cut to a shot of V riding through some think woods about a mile to the left of the battle. He looks up and sees the Dragon fly over. Cut back to Dante. Neverending keeps going. Eventually they reach the volcano. As they fly towards it, Dante stands up and when they're above the top of the volcano, he jumps. Dante falls through the air, down through the Volcano. As he falls he hits rocks, bounces off, smashing large boulders, and yet, none of it seems to hurt him. He shines brighter and brighter. He falls down a tunnel and rolls through the stone at great speed. He falls out of the tunnel and is then going down, towards a large pool of Lava. It bubbles beneath him, smoke rising from it. His eyes open as he falls down. He crosses his arms over his chest and then...he falls into the lava. With a splash, he is submerged.

The lava bubbles for a moment, then more, then more until it is almost thrashing wildly. Then, without warning, a hand comes out of the lava. It is grey skinned and looks tough, like leather. It's fingers are long and end in glowing, orange claws. It is followed by a large muscled arm with small horns sprouting from it and large veins. Then a shoulder which too has a horn spouting from it, this time much larger. It is followed by a face. It has long, has long, flowing hair which dances oddly like flames. It is white. The face is too, grey. It's eyes are orange and red dancing flames. Two large, curling horns like a bulls sprout from it's forehead. In place of a nose, there are two large slits. It's mouth is large, curling around to just below it's ears. It's teeth are pointed and sharp, and there are many of them. An orange glowing comes from it's throat, like it's heart is on fire. It is wearing similar armor to what Dante was wearing when he fell in, except it is now thicker, larger and appears to be made from a tough blue rock, like the handle of Geddy's sword. It smiles, opens it's mouth and speaks.

Dante: It is time...

Opening credits role. Fade into a a shot of the fighting. There are only about a hundred soldiers left. The many more creatures are wiping them out quickly. The battle has moved so far forward that the town is literally a stones throw away, and many of the creatures are breaking through and running towards it. One of the dragons is dead, the other two are flying aimlessly, their riders having been knocked off. Cut to the town. There are many more zombies there, the townsfolk bravely fighting against them. Massacre Man appears to have lost an arm but is still fighting three at once, Pinkfloyd and Chronogrl have teamed up on a large zombie, Hammerfan throws spirit over one of them and lights it with a torch. The flaming zombie sets some others alight. Some creatures begin running through the town, towards the castle.

Disease: Creatures!

Pinkfloyd trips over a unicorn with sharp teeth and blood dripping from it's horn. She stabs it in the heart. The minotaur rushes through. Hammerfan and Chronogrl try to stop it but it knocks them to the side and carries on running. A large ogre, about the size of Psycom rushes through. He smashes part of the Butchers, spilling tools everywhere.

Massacre Man: Bastard!

He rushes over, picks up a cleaver that is on the floor and throws it. The blade buries itself in the ogre's brain, he topples over, crushing a sprite like creature as he falls. Fade to a shot of the castle. Guards are at the door, barricading it with everything they've got. Creatures are bashing at the door, slowly breaking it. Suddenly, the minotaur bursts through the wall next to the door. The guards try to fight him and the other creatures off but are quickly flattened. The creatures spread out, making their way through the castle, causing destruction wherever they go. Fade to a shot of the battlefield. Something shoots towards it in the sky. It is flaming blue and goes straight over. It goes over the town and reaches the castle. The things rests down on the floor in front of the castle. It's Dante, in his new Demon form.

Dante: Knock knock...

He walks calmly raises a hand to the door, ignoring the hole next to it. The door bursts into flames, as does the barricade behind it. He walks through the castle hallways purposefully, knowing exactly where to head. Dramatic music is playing. As he reaches guards, they burst into flames and fall on the floor as ash. The carpet beneath him burns. The lanterns on the wall burst into life, becoming huge as he walks by. Any human he walks by, he kills. He walks towards the room that The Return is always in. Suddenly, a familiar voice calls out to him.

Phantomstranger: JEREMIAH!

Dante turns around.

Dante: What?

His voice is deep and gravelly.

Phantomstranger: You need to stop!

Dante: I am doing what is right.

Phantomstranger: Are you?

Dante: Creatures are the rightful rulers of this land...

Phantomstranger: So you think you're doing what is right. Okay. But you are going about it the wrong way! These people have served, they have respected you.

Dante: They had no respect. They only feared me! But, I suppose they had reason to...

Phantomstranger: Maybe so. But I respected you. We worked together! What now? Are you going to kill me purely because of the race I was born into. The creatures themselves are half human!

Dante: YES! They are. But they are also half something so much better. And from those two halves, a much more worthy race was born. The creatures are rightful rulers of the Earth. Humans must serve them. I give you a chance. You can either help me, and live a long life, or try and stop me, and die where you stand.

Phantomstranger: I will not try and stop you.

Dante smiles.

Phantomstranger: But I will not help you either!

Dante's smile fades.

Dante: Very well...

He holds up and hand. Phantomstranger's robes burst into flames. He tries to put the flames out but they only get larger. He limps towards the window and dives out of it. The camera follows him. he hits a roof and falls into the moat. Cut back to Dante, outside the door that The Return is usually in. He holds a hand out to it. The doors fly open. The room is empty. Dante grunts, then turns. He lets out a loud roar, and all of the doors in the hallway burst into flames and turn to ash. He listens for a moment, then hears a faint sound. He goes into one of the rooms and finds The Return, holding a sword out. Dante chuckles to himself.

The Return: Get back!

Dante: I think I'll give the orders here...

He looks at the sword. Within seconds it's glowing hot and The Return drops it to the ground.

The Return: Why?

Dante: Why? You mean, why am I taking over?

The Return: I thought you were against the creatures!

Dante smiles.

Dante: Against the creatures? Against my family?

The Return: What?

Dante: I am a creature!

The Return: How?

Dante: You've heard the story of Geddy and Papillon Noir?

The Return: I have...

Dante: I was their final child! I am their final child! When I was thrown into the volcano, something happened. My body took in, it absorbed the powers of the volcano itself. I lay there, for years, growing. Then one day, I broke free. I tried to use the power, but it was so small. Only an ounce of energy. I tried to let it grow in me, but it wouldn't. I spoke to a gypsy who told me that in the years I spent in the volcano, my hate for life grew to the point that my body wasn't fit to mature the powers. I had to put them in the body of a pure person.

The Return: My God...

Dante: I found a woman, she was part of a traveling group. She was pregnant. Eighteen years ago I took her baby, and transfered my powers to him, locked away. But his body, being human, couldn't take it. The powers crippled and deformed him. He became his namesake...a freak. I told his mother to keep him near the castle and keep him safe, for one day, when the powers have grown, I will take them from his, and he will be a normal person once more. That woman was Monalisa.

Cut to a shot of Phantomstranger. He is layed out at the side of the moat. A figure is standing over him. Cut back to Dante and The Return.

Dante: Tonight, I took the powers from him, and went back to the volcano, to take my true form.

The Return: B-b-but you've been...helping us.

Dante: I've been sabotaging you all along! I've been teaching flawed techniques to the soldiers. Many are dead now because of them. I've been killing some of the best soldiers at night. On the retrieval of the Dragon, I got that behemoth of a man Psycom to tell the dragon to kill all of the soldiers and Monalisa's team before returning to the castle. The poor man had to have that part...taken from his mind. He is currently wandering in my secret passageways, barely having self awareness.

The Return: No...NO! This isn't true!

Dante: Oh but it is! You have watched your kingdom come crashing down, just like my father did! You didn't listen to his warnings!

The Walls begin singing again.

Dante: And now, I will take my revenge for all of the time you have try to cause me anguish. All the animals you killed for pleasure! What goes around comes around my friend!

The Return: No...

Dante: It is time-

The Return: NO...

Dante: To end your reign!

The Return: NOOOO!

Dante raises his hand to The Return. His skin starts going red, and he begins sweating. He begins groaning, but it quickly becomes shouting, then screaming. Screams of sheer terror. As his temperature rises, he begins banging the walls in pain. He rolls on the floor to try and take the pain away. Dante flicks his hand and The Return is lifted up. His eyes melt. His hair burns off. His skin is blistering madly and turning black.

Dante: When you go to hell, tell my Grandfather I said hello.

With that, The Return bursts into many pieces, smoke coming from each of them. Blood is splattered up the walls, bubbling from where it was literally boiling.

Dante: Now...to show this kingdom what I am really made of!

A voice sounds behind him.

Despare: Not quite.

Dante glares. Ending credits role.

Opening credits role. Cut to V. He is at the mouth now. He goes inside. It's empty and bleak. A faint dripping sound can be heard. Suddenly, he is thrown against a wall by an unseen force. His sword clatters to the ground. Roshiq walks out of the darkness.

Roshiq: V...we meet at last.

V: Roshiq I assume. You're shorter than I imagined.

Roshiq: Hahaha. You're a funny man. Let's see how funny you are when your arms are twisted from their sockets.

Someone else runs from the darkness.

Gorephobia: NO!

Roshiq: Quiet. It must be done!

V: Gore!

Gorephobia: Roshiq, please! Let him go.

Roshiq: Silence! He must die.

Gorephobia: I've had enough of you! LET HIM GO!

Roshiq: What?

Gorephobia: You heard me! Let him go. We cam do this the easy way or-

He too is thrown to the wall. Roshiq clenches his fist and Gorephobia's amulet is crushed, rendering him blind.

Roshiq: I didn't want it to come to this.

V: Who are you kidding? You always wanted this.

Gorephobia: I just wanted things to be fair. The creatures deserve to be equal to us humans.

Suddenly, the volcano begins shaking. The ground opens up and smoke billows out. A large piece of rock juts up from it. The rock is blue. A woman is at the top. She has flowing blond hair, her face is young and beautiful. She is wearing a white dress. Her lips are rose red. Roshiq gasps.

Roshiq: My word!

Woman: Equal humans and creatures isn't what you were going for, is it?

Roshiq: It's you...it's-

V: The Butterfly.

Papillon Noir: Oooh, don't call me that. I prefer to be known as Papillon Noir.

Cut to a shot of Doc Faustus and Rayne in the apothecary basement. He is still pouring things into the bath.

Rayne: What are you doing?

Doc Faustus: Fixing things...

Rayne: Stop saying that! Fixing things how?

Doc Faustus: These...zombies. It seems the only thing they need to live is their brain. This...if I've got things right, should turns their minds to mulch.

Rayne: How are you going to give it to them?

He doesn't answer.

Rayne: No...NO! You can't!

Doc Faustus: Almost done...

Rayne: Please! Don't.

Doc Faustus: In life, you were pure, kind and generous.

Rayne: You are too!

Doc Faustus: That may be...I have brought down a curse on this town. And I couldn't live with that!

Rayne: I won't let you!

Doc Faustus: If you love me...you will.

She holds his arm for a second, the lets go.

Doc Faustus: Thankyou.

He kisses her on the forehead.

Doc Faustus: I love you Rayne...live a happy life. Tell the townsfolk what happened. They have a right to know.

He runs over to the bath and dips his head into it. He drinks up the black, gloopy liquid.

Rayne: How long have you got?

Doc Faustus: A few minutes...

He rushes up the basement stairs and takes off the planks. He punches his way through the zombies there. They turn and follow him. He runs out of the shop and screams out.

Doc Faustus: I'M OVER HERE! COME ON!

He bangs his chest.

Doc Faustus: EAT ME!

The other zombies wandering around. He takes a sword from his side and slices off his own arm, throwing it to the ground.

Doc Faustus: How does that taste?

Massacre Man: What the fuck is he doing?

Pinkfloyd: Oh my god. NO! DON'T DO IT!

He runs into the graveyard, the zombies following. Pinkfloyd goes to run after him but Disease holds her back.

Pinkfloyd: NO! LET ME HELP HIM!

Disease: We don't want two dead do we?!

As the zombies chase him into the darkness, their groans get louder. From the pitch black graveyard, horrible crunching, slurping and chewing sounds can be heard, but loudest of all is Doc Faustus' manic laughter. Slowly, zombies begin rushing out, clutching their heads. They fall to the floor, screaming in agony until they just stop. The townsfolk cheer, but their excitement doesn't last long, as another wave of creatures rush through the town. The fighting continues. Ending credits role.

Opening credits role. Fade to a shot of the castle. Fade into the room Despare and Dante are in.

Dante: Well if it isn't the priest with no faith.

Despare: Oh, I have faith. I've been traveling. Helping people. But as I went, I was spoken to.

Dante: Let me guess. God.

Despare: Oh yes. He came before me. He told me what must be done.

Dante: Well I'm afraid that it already has been. I killed that worm of a king.

Despare: It's not him who must be stopped.

Dante: It is not wise to test me.

Despare: Ah...but I have the power of light on my side.

Dante: Fool.

Despare: You're starting to sound like The Return.

Dante: That's it!

He raises a hand to Despare. Despare's robes catch fire. He pats the fire and it dies down.

Dante: How...

Despare points upwards.

Dante: You have one chance to run.

Despare: No. You have one chance. You can either stop this evil or feel the power of the light.

Dante: I can see this is going to be fun.

He raises his hand again. It appears he is doing the same as he did to The Return. Instead of screaming, Despare merely talks. He has his hands together and his head bowed.

Dante: What are you doing?!

Despare carries on talking as Dante carries on raising his temperature.

Dante: STOP IT!

Despare carries on.

Dante: STOP IT NOW!

Cut to the cave that V is in. Papillon Noir glides down from the rock. She calmly walks over to them.

Roshiq: Don't try anything!

Papillon Noir: I couldn't if I wanted to. I am in spirit form only.

Roshiq: They must die.

Papillon Noir: But they wont.

V: What?

Papillon Noir: He couldn't kill you V. Not a hope in...hell.

Roshiq: I could crush him right now!

Papillon Noir: But you cannot. You see, he is more powerful than you will ever be.

Roshiq: I have the gift of the mind! I will crush them now merely to show you!

He clenches his fist. Gorephobia begins groaning. V, however, seems to feel nothing.

Papillon Noir: You have the gift on the mind, but V has the gift of magic.

Roshiq: What?

Papillon Noir: You see, I came to this Earth thirty years ago. I met a man pure of heart. We was kinder than any body else alive. And I fell in love with him...

Roshiq: You're not trying to say-

Papillon Noir: I bore a child from him. But sadly, one day, he died. Right there. I do not know why. And I was called back to hell. But my child remained. He was taken by an orphanage and grew up to be a fighter. He had natural skills.

V: No...

Papillon Noir: V...is my child.

Roshiq: It can't be!

He loosens his grip slightly on Gorephobia due to his astonishment.

V: This can't be true.

Papillon Noir: But you know it is. Look inside you. You have more power than anything else in this world. Break free from his grip V. Tap into your mind. You know how.

V looks at her for a moment, then closes his eyes. Suddenly, Roshiq's hand opens without him wanting it to. V falls to the floor. He looks up at Roshiq.

Roshiq: Don't even try it.

V runs for Geddys sword. He reaches it and picks it up. Roshiq uses his mind power to draw Gorephobia's sword to himself. The two begin fighting. Gorephobia slumps to the floor, coughing for breath. Papillon Noir watches the fight. The two appear to be evenly matched. V slashes but Roshiq blocks and vice versa.

Papillon Noir: V! Your friend!

V looks at Gorephobia who has fallen unconscious.

V: NO!

He pushes Roshiq back, who tumbles over. V lifts his hands in Gorephobia's direction. Suddenly, Gore begins coughing again, and regains his color. V, having used so much energy, falls to the floor, the sword at his side. Roshiq stands up and, seeing V, begins laughing manically.

Roshiq: Time to end your annoying little life once and for all!

He lifts the sword up. V flicks his hand and Geddy's sword flies along the floor, knocking Roshiq off his feet. Gorephobia instinctively grabs it, and though he's blind runs towards Roshiq.

V: Feel him! Use your mind! Tap into your full potential! You know where he is!

Roshiq: NO!

He jumps up, tries to stab V but before he can, Gore slashes Geddy's sword at Roshiq. It cuts him in half at the waist, blood spurting out over V's face. Gorephobia stands there for a moment, then begins laughing. It starts off small, but soon he is rolling around on the floor laughing to himself. V starts laughing too. Soon their laughter echos through the caves. Papillon Noir walks over to them.

Papillon Noir: Time you go back to the town. They will be needing your help.

She touches V and Gorephobia. Instantly, they shoot out of the caves, flying through the air. Cut to the castle. Dante is still cooking Despare alive. Despare is still praying. A bright light shines from Despare's cross necklace. It shines straight onto Dante.

Dante: STOP IT! STOP IT! NOW!

The light shines so brightly it fills the screen. A loud banging sound is heard and when the light fades, Despare is gone, now only smoking piles of skin and blood. Dante has changed. Somehow, he is once again in his human form.

Dante: No...NO! It can't be!

He looks at himself in anger, then looks forward. Despare is there, fully formed. But not quite human. He is a spirit. He smiles as he shines brighter.

Despare: I...I'm free.

He fades out. Dante looks around at everything around him. He looks out the window at the town.

Dante: THIS ISN'T HOW IT WAS MEANT TO HAPPEN!

Ending credits role.

Opening credits role. Cut to the town. Many creatures are gone now, swarming the castle. The people are walking around, tired and worn out. Crabapple is leaning against a wall, lots of blood around him. Massacre Man is being cared for by pinkfloyd. He is missing a leg. Chronogrl and Hammerfan are covered in blood. Disease seems to be badly bruised but is mainly unhurt. Alkytrio's hand is mainly off, dangling by a piece of skin. Suddenly, V and Gorephobia run in.

Hammerfan: V!

She runs over and hugs him.

Disease: Gorephobia? You...you're with them. Right?

V: No. He's with us. He's proved that.

Disease: Good.

Massacre Man: The...creatures are all...in the cas...the castle.

V: That's where I'm going.

Hammerfan: WHAT?

V: I have to.

He runs through, ignoring the cries of protest. He gets to the castle and runs through the hallways. He runs into some trolls. They try to stops him but he slashes through them. Up ahead, he notices a shape. It is large and looks like a troll, but it's movement is more random. V runs towards it, already realizing what it is. It's Psycom.

V: Psycom! Oh my God! Psycom. Can you hear me?

The giant man walks away, seemingly not hearing V.

V: Dammit Psycom! You don't deserve this...you saved my life. Now it's time to return the favor.

He rushes over to the giant man and grabs his head. He closes his eyes as his hands glow white. Suddenly, Psycom's eyes become alert. He sees V, looks around and laughs to himself. He looks at V.

Psycom: Thank you V.

He smiles, shakes V's hand and walks away. V carries on. Eventually, after getting past the other creatures unseen, he reaches the room where The Return used to stay. He goes inside. Dante is sitting in the throne, Chucker at his feet. He has his face in his hands.

V: Dante-

Dante looks up and throws a small dagger. It hits V in the arm.

V: AHH!

Dante stands up to do more damage but from nowhere, Papillon Noir appears.

Papillon Noir: DANTE!

Dante: M...Mum?

She nods.

Dante: Move. I need to kill him. He's a threat to the throne!

Papillon Noir: No he isn't. He...he's like you.

Dante: What?

V: I'm a creature. She...she's my mother as well.

Dante: What?

Papillon Noir: Let me explain.

The screen fades black. When it fades back in, V is in bed. He opens his eyes. Hammerfan opens his door, she is dressed smartly.

Hammerfan: Come on! You're going to be late!

He gets up. Fade to the church. V, Disease and Gorephobia are at the front. Amongst the crowd are Monalisa and Freak, as well as Rayne. Nobody is sitting next to her. Also in there is Psycom, who is dressed in normal clothes. Several coffins are laid out in front of them. Inside them are shown to be Doc Faustus, Crabapple and an empty one.

Disease: Yesterday, things changed here at HDC forever. We lost some dear people. They gave their lives bravely, defending this land. Doc Faustus gave his life to destroy a terrible enemy, Crabapple gave his fighting and as for Despare...somebody else would like to speak.

Phantomstranger limps up to the front. He is badly burned.

Phantomstranger: Last night, as I laid waiting to die...Despare came. I don't know how he did it, but using his faith, he stopped meet from meeting my end. And he gave his life, defending this entire town. I could see what happened. I will not speak of it...but he is, I can assure you...at peace now. It is now, my honor, to present these three medals for great bravery...to Disease.

He gives him his medal.

Phantomstranger: Gorephobia.

He gives him the medal.

Phantomstranger: And V.

He gives him the medal, then limps away. Disease speaks again.

Disease: It is now...that we bid farewell to our friends.

The screen fades to black. It fades back in. Everybody is gathered in the town center. A horse rides down from the castle. When it reaches them, it turns out to not be a horse, but a centaur. The centaur takes out a scroll and reads.

Centaur: Yesterday, this island changed forever. Creatures and humans were thrust into each other, and there was a terrible battle with many casualties. Our king was killed. I, Jeremiah Dante, took his place as king. I must now reveal to you that I am not in fact human. Many of you will have heard the story of Geddy and Papillon Noir. I am their last child.

Several people gasp.

Centaur: I have been full of hate for so many years. I was ready to take over with a reign of terror. But last night...something happened. I will not pretend I like humans. But I learned to respect you. This island will never be the same. I hope things have changed for the better, with humans and creatures living together. Thank you.

The Centaur nods to the crowd and rides back to the castle. The screen fades to black. It fades back in and everybody is outside, large tables have been set up. There is a feast, with everybody from the town sitting down eating various foods. Pinkfloyd is sitting down, eating. V walks up behind her and taps on her shoulder.

V: Can we talk?

Pinkfloyd: Sure.

She gets up and walks with him.

V: I know you said that you've just come out of a bad relationship but I was thinking, seeing as everything has changed-

Pinkfloyd: Stop.

He tries to speak again but she shakes her head.

Pinkfloyd: Don't...I...I'm with Massacre Man now. Last night, after everything...we got talking and...

V nods. She hugs him and sits back down. He sits next to Gorephobia, further along.

Gorephobia: Hey there, buddy.

V nods, then leans close to Gorephobia.

V: If you wouldn't mind...can you keep quiet about-

Gorephobia: My lips are sealed.

V smiles. Hammerfan puts down a plate of potatoes and sits next to V.

Hammerfan: Don't worry about Pink. You'll find someone.

V nods, then thinks for a moment. Images of Hammerfan being there, next to him, comforting and being nice to him flash onto the screen.

V: You love me...

Hammerfan: What?

V: You love me. Don't you?

Hammerfan: I don't know what you-

He pulls her close and kisses her. As they stop and pull away from each other, she smiles.

V: Told you.

They both laugh and begin eating their food. Rayne sits down. They go quiet.

Rayne: Hey...

They're silent.

Rayne: What have I done? I know this isn't natural. But we all used to be friends! And I'm not like the other undead. I'm fully formed. I don't need blood anymore!

Gorephobia: Relax. We don't blame you for what's happened. It's just...it's just a little bit weird. It's going to take some time. Okay?

She nods and starts eating the food. The camera zooms out to show the table, everybody eating and talking. The sun is shining brightly. Fade to Dante, sitting in the throne, the dogs at his feet. In the room are some guards. They are trolls. He looks out his window at the town and grunts, smirking angrily. Phantomstranger is in the room, next to him.

Phantomstranger: One day Jeremiah. You will feel positive emotions like they do. One day.

Dante nods.

Phantomstranger: So...your majesty. What's your next order of business?

Dante looks up at him and shows a small grin. The camera shoots up the castle, zooming out. At the top, on the face of a stone gargoyle is The Return, screaming out, bound to the walls forever. The camera zooms far out, showing the entire island. Gargoyles and other flying creatures glide through the air. As the air blows by, a chilling sound is heard. Roshiq's laughter. Ending credits role.
