As you might know, I'm a L4D whore, and when I head that this was coming out I was excited as shit when I heard it, but unforunately there is a petition against L4D2 coming out so soon. I recently read in a magazine that at the time of it printing, that almost 45 thousand people signed the petition against the game. Now this really pisses me off because of they're reasoning. They believe that nothing really new is going to be different from L4d. And the funny thing about that is, nobody knows what the fuck they are talking about. They are complaining saying that all of the game can be added into L4D via updating or expansion packs. Also that Valve has not delivered enough DLC saying that they promised that they were going to be coming out with DLC for a long time for L4D. But primarily they are complaining saying that its too soon for a sequel. These are all bullshit reasons. Because 1 with the ammount of graphical changes, new infected, new AI director, the ability to blow off bodyparts, a whole new melee weapon system, new weapons, new music, and characters to name a few things, its an entirely new game, which if added as an update could screw the whole game up completely. Not to mention that with all that is getting updated that would be a huge download, the servers that the file would be downloaded from would probably either crash or be so slow that it would take days to actually get the update. And how are xbox 360's supposed to use an expansion pack? Secondly, who said Valve was going to stop the DLC for L4D? They have said they have more DLC coming out soon also. and thridly, Why the hell are they complaining about how fast its coming out, fucking Half Life 2 took 6 years, and they complained about that, and Team Fortress 2 took over 10, and they complained about that, and now they come out with a sequel about a year after, and OMFG TOO SOON!!! Make up your damn minds....
On another note, I am so freaking excited for this game. I love L4D, and I still have not gotten bored with it, I play it everyday(nearly) on my 360. I have all but 5 achievements for it, and soon to have all of them, including Zombie Genocidist (Killing 53,595 regular infected), I'm about 6 thousand away from that.
The new stuff in the game is sweet, 3 new infected, 2 of those have been annouced as The Charger, and The Spitter(VVVPictures and descriptions belowVVV). 13 new Melee weapons, including an axe, baseball bat, frying pan, cricket bat, boat oar, and a chainsaw. Plus with the addition of incendiary ammo, and new weapons, including the AK and 2 different kinds of handguns, this is looking to be pretty awesome.
The Charger
http://www.lowpings.net/gamingnews/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/charger.png
The charger is somewhat like a mini-Tank(Big Hulk like zombie) accept that when it attacks the group(charging in, hence the name) it knocks them away, and grabs one of the survivors and slams him into the ground repeatedly.
The Spitter
http://xboxevolved.e-mpire.com/images/media/spitter10.jpg(Please not that this is not the final version of the spitter, yet at least)
The Spitter can shoot a, what i like to call, Zombie Loogey, which when it hits the survivors or lands at their feet, creates a puddle of liquid that constantly causes damage to whoever stays in that area, and seems that it can do some pretty nice damage.
Now all this along with the AI director being able to change the map around, so that it will change(different paths and such) everytime that you play a map, makes what I think is going to be a pretty awesome game. We'll see come November. I'll post some videos of it in a little while.

Have you seen the other "special infected" in the game? Not L4d2 just L4D, there is The Smoker, The Hunter, The Boomer, The Tank, The Witch. Not to mention that there is one more to come that nobody knows about, that is if not more. Also I just read that there is going to be actually 20 new items to be used, and thats including the new AK47. Oh yeah, and they are throwing in a grenade launcher. How freaking awesome is that? I've had a conversation with a friend about this and while I'm psyched he feels that its abit too much power. I disagree, because they have to keep the odds fair when it comes to the balance of Survivor/Infected. And well, I think with the addition of the spitter, the grenade launcher evens it out, because that spitter looks like it does a whole lot of damamge.
Another thing that I forgot to mention about the game is that along with the Versus mode(most popular), the online co-op, the survival mode, and the offline campain, they are throwing in another game mode which is yet to be revealed.
A little bit more on what I mentioned earlier about the AI Director changing the map to make things different everytime, I would like to point out that in L4D2, there is a cemetery that acts kind of as a labyrinth, well the AI Director can change that to its liking, meaning you could get a straight shot through it, or the AI Director could make it harder for you. This all really depends on factors such as how much damage you've taken, what just happened, how fast or slow you are moving. If its been really hitting you hard it will stop and give you a breather to let you search the area for health-kits ammo weapons and pills(temporary health boost).

I love everything about this game. But a grenade launcher? It sounds like they're focusing more on campaign than versus with this game. Even so, I can't wait to get it. (For PC, where the cool kids play)

That looks great. Some of the weapons look a little less well made than in L4D 1 though. Did you notice the AK?

Yea I agree with you on that, but also, the game doesn't come out until november, so you can't really complain about that just yet. Wait till its finished.

Well this game has been out for over a month now its time for some opinions. All I can say I loved the first one and this one pretty much blows that one out of the water for me.

I really like this game. It's crazy fun.My only complaint is that every time I try to play online I get stuck with a horrible team. They dont have a mic or they just run all over the place and get ahead of everybody and get killed.

I don't like the removal of an option to definetely join a party. I also find the characters to be a bit bland, nothing like the originals. Other than that, it's brilliant, better than the first. Loving Scavenger mode, so much so that I've barely given time to Versus. All three new specials are incredible - love being the charger and just pwning some noobs. The campaigns are all great and inventive, the uncommon infected are refreshing and god do I love that racecar driver.
I know everybody says this, but I hope they bring out a DLC featuring the Midnight Riders! Can't wait for The Passing either.

This is a great game. I really do like it a lot more than the original.
Australian censors decided that it was too much for our fragile selves, so there is a censored version available here. There is minimal blood, no dismemberment, and the corpses disappear almost as soon as they hit the ground.
Watch a youtube clip of the Australian version of Left 4 Dead 2 to see how gay our country has become.
So, I acquired a copy from the US for the PC. So much fun. It seems harder than the original, and more complex. There is more to it than just blasting your way through the wall of zombies. For example, in the first scenario, you need to fill the car with fuel. Sure, it's not mind-blowing in its complexity, but it is nice to have some variety in the tasks that you need to perform.
Anyway, I feel that Valve have done a good job with this game, and it is a worthy sequel to the original, a definite improvement.

I remember playing L4D for the first time. My friend told me he had a zombie game (I thought it was dead rising) and was disappointed when it wasnt. But MAN the gameplay blew me away. It was totally insane and so intense. I live at Uni, and I was playing this with a few friends in a common room for hours, and I ended up making a new friend, who I ended up playing the game with until about 5am in the morning.
One thing we never did was choose Bill. Somehow, he ALWAYS saved our asses. He did it so much that my friend and I eventually started saying 'Thanks Bill' throughout the day, and even went as far as to writing it on a number of random doors (Every room in the dorms have a whiteboard) to try and get others to say it, or to wonder what the hell it was about, but nothing ended up happening ><
But yeah. L4D2 rocks too! And man I am sooooo excited that you can get a cricket bat in it! But I have yet to find one. and also, I found out that chainsawing a witch is pretty much an instant kill ^^

My experience with Left 4 Dead was it was incredibly fun for two weeks, then I got bored. Playing online helped a little, but you really need to find three friends that are dedicated to playing it with you and taking it seriously. I imagine that having three friends in real life to play Left 4 Dead marathons with you would make it incredibly fun. Unfortunately, most of my friends are non-video-game-playing-douchebags.
