View Full Version : Crazy Neighbor

I'm sure I've posted something about my crazy neighbor before. He is a Vietnam Vet with PTSD, two types of cancer, an enlarged heart, bad knees and addiction to Fox News.
I haul his groceries for him (which he buys waaaay too much of) constantly and every so often I sit over at his place and drink a beer and listen to him vent about his mountain of troubles.
His kids won't talk to him, he's broke, his wife's alzheimers is getting worse, etc.
It is a drain, but I have put up with it because he doesn't have anyone else. But I'm sick of him calling all the time to bitch or to ask me to do something for him. I've been wishing the cancer would finish him off for quite some time now.
Last night I went over to his place and he started fuming about how the country is headed for Civil War and how "that fucking Nigger" was the root of all of our problems.
I stormed out.
This morning I left this on his doorstep:
I no longer wish to be your errand boy. I don't want to know what's on TV. I don't want to hear about your latest argument with someone and I certainly do not want to haul any more of your groceries.
Don't call.
Don't knock.
Don't try to apologize, I don't want to hear it.
Goodbye.
-Sean
He is unstable and armed and lives across the hall from me. I am posting this here for public record should this looney try anything.
As soon as I gather enough money for a down payment on a house, I am moving - but I won't be forced into a quick/bad move by this asshole.

While I admire you being a nice person and helping this guy, I admire you even more for standing up for your convictions. There's too many people in this world that don't.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the perfect opportunity for buying a house comes your way very soon!

You should be safe. Sounds more like he's not right than not safe.

Don't worry, he's got an enlarged heart. An airhorn and a Frankenstein mask can bring him down.

He's a stone killer. He killed a guy in a Mexican prison BEFORE he was shiped off to war
And when I caled him a Vietnam Vet, it wasn't entirely accurate. He's special forces and he spent his time in Cambodia and Laos as an assassin.
But he is old and infirm but somehow thinks he still dangerous. What he is is pathetic, ugly and filled with hate.
I can take him easily and will not hesitate to do so if he threatens me in ANY way.

Just tread carefully Sean. If he's as loony as you say and armed, it don't matter how fragile he is....you ain't stopping a bullet. Keep us informed.

Agented writers have chitinous hides that repel firearms. At least that's what Writer's Digest says.

plus weird hats and facial hair that distorts the target just long enough for the writer to escape

It sounds fucked Sean, the kind of shit that makes you want to move though you really just want them to but you know they are not going anywhere...
hopefully your note actually made him realise somthing and didn't just piss him off. Best of luck with the situation.

I'd be super careful, especially your family. I had a friend in the Special Forces and those guys are seriously hardcore and kind of crazy--and those are the normal ones. There's also a really strong camaraderie between them and even though he's old and crippled, he still might know someone else who owes him (that he may never have mentioned) that's not. People who kill people for a living do not live by the same rules as you or I.

I think he'd do nothing but it'd be better it you somehow removed or borrowed the gun from him before leaving the note at his doorstep. :)

Interesting story..
Do you believe all his stuff or he he another guy who did a week Seal Training and then calls himself SF. I'm sure he might be but you wouldn't believe the amount of guys who try pass themselves off as such..
I post on another site and its hilarious listening to stories where ppl call their bluff but to be honest yours doesn't sound like some guy boasting in a bar which makes it sound more believable.

Somebody's hate toward anything or anybody else could never make me that mad. They're entitled to their opinion. You're also entitled not to have to put up with that bullshit though.

I fairly sure his stories are legit as I have known him for a long time and he tends to repeat himself - and Ihaven't ever caught him in an error.
So far I haven't seen him since "the break-up" Which is weird, but lovely.

But you won't see him, Rod, just muzzle flash.

If he makes any threats verbally or physically, you can call the cops and have him put into "observation". That way he gets the treatments he desperately needs and he is gone until you move out.
