Plans are afoot for a film version of the great man's hit TV show T.J. Hooker.
According to a Variety report, The Mask helmer Chuck Russell is in talks to direct the feature, which will be an action comedy that revolves around the relationship between the titular cop and his father.
Shatner starred in the original show, with movie producer David Heppe explaining "The series was the poster child for cop shows in the 1980s with great stunts, so we think there's a fun movie to be made from it."
Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson - whose previous credits include Wild Wild West and several of the Tremors flicks - will write the script, although there's no word yet on a role for Bill.
