Depends on how fussy you are. For me it depends on the food.

true story: i'm sitting in newark airport food court waiting for my flight. a family is next to me and the little girl drops part of her big pretzel and starts to pick it up off the floor and eat it. her mom screams - DON'T and the little girl says, but mooom what about the five second rule - the mom screams IN NEWARK IT IS THE ZERO SECOND RULE!! i spit coke through my nose i laughed so hard

I'm a little mental. If it hits the floor at all, it goes to the dog or in the trash. I have to wash my hands if I touch anything the least bit unsanitary.

Maybe some kind of disorder? Or maybe because I work in the food service industry?
