The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed a Bloody-Disgusting report that Dimension Films is remaking John Landis' 1981 horror cult classic An American Werewolf in London.

The studio has picked up the rights from Landis. Overture executives-turned-producers Sean and Bryan Furst are on board to produce.

Landis wrote and directed the original, which starred David Naughton and Griffin Dunne as two American backpackers hiking in the Yorkshire moors attacked by a mysterious animal who turns out to be a werewolf.

Landis will act as an executive producer and possibly consult. No writer or director is on board yet.

i've given up being upset. (and still think re-release would make enough money for some of these films without the wasted expense of a crappy remake with teenie-boppers and digital effects)

I dont like Werewolf movies but i love American Werewolf in London. I'll watch it just for that transformation scene. This is just another pointless remake pounding yet another coffin nail into horror.

Not a remake but a re-imagining thing would be 'better' this time...with a different city in an Asian set up i.e. An American Werewolf in Kabul/Mumbai or Hong Kong :D

Hasnt there been enough of those?

An American Werewolf in Paris
Mexican Werewolf in Texas

Actually i think that's it but still, too much.

same thing with zombie movies, they are getting too much.i think they should leave american werewolf alone, there has not been a good werewolf movie since then, they should come up with a different werewolf movie instead.plus i think the effects look good still in the movie, cgi ruins most movies now days.
