How the FUCK do you deal with the rain all the time. I've seen the movie....it's always raining there.

My pool has been ready for 3 weeks but the fucking weather has been god-awful. Rain just about everyday.....temps about 15 degrees below normal. We had a pretty brutal winter and I just want to get in my pool and float around with a cold beer.

So that's my question....how do you deal with it without flipping out and not going postal. Where's the damn global warming when we need it.

*disclaimer* I'm really not for global warming...just using that for dramatic effect

I'm not from the UK but Ireland and it rains just as much if not more here.

But over time we've learnt to adapt to the wet and damnp conditions - if you've read The Shadow over Innsmouth you'll get my drift.

I've said to much..

It can't rain as much in Dublin as it does in Glasgow... I don't think it can rain anywhere as much as it does here.

The way we deal with it here is just ignore it. It just becomes a part of life.

When I was in Ireland one summer, I got sunburned. No damned rain in Kilarney except in the late afternoon.

I agree it rains more in Scotland more than Ireland.

We have it worse than Wales and England though.

When I first moved to Scotland I bought a heavy duty hooded rain coat. In the winter I would wear it and not notice the rain, it was just normal. in the summer, I use an umberella, but only if it's really pissing down, otherwise you just walk in it, it seems to bounce right of you.

Scotland is pretty much the rain capitol of the world. I live in the dryest part of England, but it still rains a lot. I just embrace it. Let my hair get wet, walk around, splash puddles around. Doesn't really bother me.

Rain builds character. You should enjoy your pool and a nice chilled beer whether its pissing down or not. One way of looking at it is if you are in the pool anyway, it doesnt make any difference if it rains.

Stiff upper lip and all that, newb.
