Inspired by the soup thread.

There must be strange international dishes out there that you guys know of or have tried. Not revolting things like Baby Mice Wine, but just things that might seem a bit strange.

I mentioned to Butterfly about the Eel Jelly, although I just had a look and it's actually called Jellied Eels. Pretty much what it says on the tin. Usually eaten with Meat Pie and Mashed Potatoes. I went into a Pie and Mash shop in London once. Had the pie and Mash, but didn't risk the eels. Just too weird.

While living in Arizona, I was close friends with a certain Mexican immigrant family who ate some strange stuff. For instance, they put Mayo in everything. They would put 2-3 heaping tablespoons of mayo in their Ramon Noodles. I should mention they also made the best home-made tortillas on the planet and they liked them best smootherd in mayonaise. Not disgusting, but odd,

The youngest son in the same family used to squeze a lime into a grab bag size Flamin' Hot Cheetos, actually pretty good I thought.

Just looked on wikipedia. At first I thought it was chips with marshmallows and chocolate sauce, which made it seem a relief that it was cheese curds and gravy. I've eaten chips with gravy, and I've eaten chips with cheese. Maybe they taste good together...

I eat watermelon with cracked pepper and lime leaf...

East asians eat chicken feet which is a little odd when you're not used to them...I've had them recently and when prepared well theyre very nice.

I've eaten and enjoyed eel greatly, but I prefer it fresh or smoked...I mean what is jellied eel done in, aspic? it just seems a way to gross up a better food.

For breakfast i always have a peanut butter and rolled oat sandwhich smothered in cayenne pepper. Some might think it odd. When i used to eat meat, i used to love lengua/tongue tacos, and i even tried intestine tacos. They were incredible, just hard to find. i still miss melt-in-your-mouth lengua tacos. Ashe.

My hubby likes peanut butter, Cheese Whiz, processed cheese and chip sandwiches. Apparently any kind of chips will do - BBQ, nacho, sour cream and onion. He says its the crunch that is important. He keeps trying to get me to eat them. My sandwich preferences are far more pedestrian.

What kind of jam. i'm guessing strawberry. See I love peanutbutter with banana.. grilled like a panini. But strawberry jam and banana grilled seems like a better idea.

Well, I grew up in Omaha, and greatly embarressed my mother by ordering one in a restaurant once. Omaha's not very Southern. You can get them here in Portland too- and that's not Southern at all, unless you live in Ankorage.
