I've never been too impressed with them. Nothing special, but they aren't a bad band or anything. I didn't like their covers of Dark Side of the Moon.

I don't like their cover albums either.

Haven't been too impressed with their former albums since "Scenes from a memory" 10 years ago. But this one is right up there.

I heard one of their recent ones but wasn't overly impressed. Never listened to any of their older stuff...

My favorite DT albums are all "the older stuff":

"Scenes from a memory"

A crime tale concept album.

Check out the song "The spirit carries on".

"A change of seasons"

Except for the very, VERY long first song, this is a concert album consisting of only cover songs, done so well you don't notice it's live. The Elton John medley "funeral for a friend" followed by "Love lies bleeding" is my favourite on that album. The last 5-songs medley is also great.

"Images and words"

http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p17/Kasper_76/000000.jpg

My all time favourite DT album. Not only does it contain the best songs, but also the style in music is different from the later albums. Much more Power metal and a little more simple.

Check out their all time greatest hit "Take the time". I don't believe they will ever manage to make a better metal song than that one.

"Falling into infinity"

Not a great album, but i just wanted to mention it because it contains one of my favourite ballads, "Hollow years". Check that one song out as well. :)

And that's all I'll say about that.

I'm digging it.

kinda reminds me of a "heavier" STYX

I especially like the second song. The chorus is very catchy.

And i also dig the adding of the growling dude, even tho i hate Death metal. But his raw voice fits well with Labrie's very clean vocal somehow.

Tho i must say that after a few repeated listenings their long instrumentals got a lil tiresome. Especially because they sound much alike. I didn't have the same problem with "Scenes from a memory" altho that album had even longer instumental sections. But those instrumentals was much more imaginative, versatile and interesting.

Don't know a lot of their stuff, but I love that song.

Should pick up one of their albums sometime...I enjoy the few songs that I know (that said, 15 minute long "epic" metal stuff can get on my nerves pretty quick)

Agreed.

No song should be more than 8 minutes long. It just doesn't make the song better.

Except for this song

The more I'm listening to this album the more I'm liking it. I never really got into this guys before. As far as the "epic" songs, I don't mind them at all.....as long as there are changes. I usually listen to "Jam" bands anyway , so a 15 minute song is normal.
