Yea, Red Dragon was a good movie. But this is for the best of all time. You honestly think that Red Dragon is the best movie of all time or you just did not relize it was the scarriest movies of all time thread?

so this POS ended abruptly because there is a sequel, which wasn't written at the time, wasn't filmed for another year and concerned different characters.....i assume these visionary filmmakers saw into the future then, if so i must ask them for the lottery numbers.

Agreed. Although neither films are my personal favorites by any means, in terms of what they did for the genre and pure artistic expression, and the emotional responses evoked from audiences, you have to acknowledge both of these films. Completely agree.

I don't have a fav. I don't like vampire movies. I think vampires are kind of repetitive. I get sick of them. But i love zombies and movies about the darker side of the human mind and mankind. As in Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, Clockwork Orange, .....

Dawn of the Dead (1978) - A true classic, and the daddy of 'what if it happened to you" movies.
The Whicker Man - Incredible inelligent horror
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - sherlock holmes crossed with gothic horror., and the darkest of humour.
Anything that twists my head and stomach at the same time.

I'm not sure about this, since I like a movie by its own merits. BUt, if we have to mention genre movies these would most likely be my choices:
Inferno (Dario Argento)
Tenebre
Audition
Ichi the Killer
Irreversible
Se7en
Evil Dead 2
I guess, I don't remember the others. Because, there are a lot of them. :p

I think the scariest one is when that woman waswalking through the house andthere was a killer in there and she was all alone cause everyoneelse was killed, and when she went out side and even though she was running real fast for like 30 mins an the killer was only walking he still pops up in front of her and i yell cause im scared, cause iwasnt expecting it. and she likes stabs him in the heart with a knife andshe sits there and crys then walks over to him. and he grabs her. and i scream cause i was suprised cause ive never seen any thing likethat happen in a horror movie n then she runs n he catches up n she stabs him n she cries n walks over to him n he grabsher again n i shit me self cause i thought the ywouldnever do they same thing twice ina horror movie so she runs again n the killer chases her n she put fuel in a shed n blows him up. n then the cops come n take the killer to the morgue n when he is alone with the doctor the killer kills the doc... man im still shakin

A hard question...Evil Dead is right up there (except for that daft bit when the book is freaking out). The Excorcist (not over-rated at all). Dog Soldiers (not that creepy but a great film nontheless). Demons 2, Day of the Dead, Wolf (nah, just kidding, what a piece of crap that was.). Re-animator, The Kindred, The Thing (now that was a great movie) I'm sorry I could go on and on. Ah one more From Beyond. There's more great ones but I can't decide which I like best.
