that's rude - if you don't like the movie just say so or just don't say anything
hey - no offense intended - my job around here is to be a wise ass

There are way too many new people on this forum that don't lurk for a bit before they start posting. Not saying I am a veteran or anything, but seriously...I never post anywhere until I get the culture of a message board.
I didn't read any hostility or rudeness in Zero's post, so my advice would be to not get so defensive around here.

Dan Brown is a shitty writer. It takes more than an interesting conspiracy theory to make a readable book. he doesnt have a clue how to develop characters or avoid rediculously worn childish low brow stereotypical scenarios.
this was all evident in the Da Vinci code which was a garbage movie in every sense of the word.
based on this unfortunate exposure i wont be seeing angels and demons and hopefully after this last cash grab he'll slowly slide back into the sea and sink quietly to the bottom.
unfortunately though - this kind of drivel does play well to the lowest common denominator (80% of the population) so he'll probably go on spewing mediocrity for some time.

Wise decision.
He has catered quite nicely to the paranoid readers and viewers so he ll be continuing to bleed them as much as he can.

I LIKED reading The DaVinci Code!!
Childish, easy reads are all I can handle sometimes, so cut it out.....jeez, that's just insulting to the overstressed & oatmeal brained..... and almost borderline discrimination! :D

I don't think you have to be paranoid of weak-minded to enjoy a conspiracy theory book. I find it interesting to see how people link things from history together, even if they make half of it up.
Robert Anton Wilson & Robert Shea's Illuminatus Trilogy are fascinating, scary, hilarious reads as is Another Roadside Attraction by Tom Robbins.

Agreed. But there is a big difference between enjoying them as fiction and believing them. It's the people who read them and then babble for hours about this horrible conspiracy that is going on under our noses that make me go batshit.

it wasnt the conspiracy - enjoying or believing i even cared about - it was just how horribly written it was (angels and demons - i never bothered to read da vinci code because A and D was so bad)

Thats funny as I never bothered with any more of his after reading Da Vinci code purely because it was so poorly written. The ideas he had were good, some quite clever, but he hasnt got a clue how to portray them.
I made it to about minute forty of the film before turning it off. Ive never attempted to give it another go.

I was shocked how bad and 'by the numbers' Angels and Demons was - i didn't expect much after seeing the DeVinci Code.
I wish some one would make a film of FLICKER (http://www.amazon.com/Flicker-Theodore-Roszak/dp/0671728318) - Darren Aronofsky was meant to do it but its dropped from his IMDB page. Of cours ppl will call it a DEVinci code rip off but there are some people who aren't aware of books at all.
Has any one else read t his Novel?
