hello. I am a forty year old man who loves the celluoid especially horror and sci-fi. If you care, heres my list of favorites:
zombie- Dawn of the dead- NOTLD
zombie non romero- children shoudn,t play with dead things
vampire- nosferatu and blacula
slasher- Halloween and black christmas (clark) (though the original friday the 13th had some awesome photography)
animals gone wild- Jaws (hands down) Alligator and Frogs
Italian- Cannibal Holacaust
Sci/fi horror- Alien
All Vincent Price
Almost all 50' horror cheese (horror at party beach, the Blob, Devil Doll etc...)
My favorite sci/fi
Sunshine - 2001 a space odyssey-T2- ALL 50's giant monster and ufo movies
Bottom line I love all sci/fi horror except the movies shot on video, if i rent a movie and i see that it's shot digitally I just turn it off. I know it's not fair, but time to me is too precious.
I attend about 6 horror conventions a year, thats when I can stock up on all those not in print dvds.
Well i hope I'm not to geeky but this blog stuff is new too me.
Hope too hear from someone soon, look forward to chatting or whatever it's called.

Excellent choices of favs. You will fit right in our oldies group - NE, Newb, Urgeok, Zwoti, Hammerfan...

Welcome to HDC, sir. Enjoy yourself and stay out of trouble.

Yes, nice varied choices. Too bad you have an unreasoning aversion to movies shot on video. It's the wave of the future. Low budget doesn't have to mean low quality. Sure there's a lot of crap out there, but there are some gems as well.

And technically, we're not blogging here- we're posting in a forum.

Anyway, look around at the various subjects ands join in some of the conversations.

Hello and welcome

Some interesting choices there, especially like the love of 50s B movies. I spent many a happy afternoon as a kid watching those on TV.

Yes, HDC has some good old people. Welcome aboard Ryan, I agreed with most of your fav's-but Frogs?. Frogs was funny, but I'm kinda suprised to see it on a favorites list.

I could never get into Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things but I'm really into Bob Clark's other flicks like Deathdream and Black Christmas and of course Porky's.
