View Full Version : It's that time of year again.

In our endless quest to flesh out our HDC lists, it's the time of year to start requesting blurbs for our top 100s.
There are plenty of blurbs to be taken for all of the lists, so please feel free to PM me for the original Top 100 or the Other Top 100 to write some blurbs. It's a great way to become part of HDC history. I'm sure __V__ will be along shortly to solicit blurbs for the other two as well.
Speaking of which, the original two Top 100 lists turn 3 years old this year! I'd love to get them completed, if possible.
COME ONE, COME ALL! Let's not let these wonderful lists take as long to complete as the Leaning Tower of Pisae!

Yep.
Blurbs are needed, and were promised to me by many - Chronogrl, Fortunato, Elvis...but I never received them. This is the time to grab the opportunity, and if you are free enough to write some, put your thinking caps on and write!
I see some wonderful reviews by Alky in the Last Seen Movie thread. Now if Alky ventured here and chose some of his favorite flicks from the top 100s for blurbs. Hmm...

They're right at the top of this page- how hard can it be to look?
Can we just rip some of the mini bios from imdb for the icons of horror list?
If you'll read through that list you'll see they were written with passion and care by people who have a liking for the subjects. We're trying to make these lists something unique and interesting for HDC- not just duplicate what other sites have to say. HDC members have the talent to create content that is the envy of other horror sites on the internet.

Sorry I've been tied down with doing reviews. I was doing Maniac and Henry right? I've got about six or seven flicks to do reviews on so I'll get onto it after that for you guys.

Though there are several authors on the list, and a few artists... there doesn't seem to be a better place for that list though.
That list is my favorite of all the top 100s... not only because I sat on the panel, but because people really put their hearts into what they wrote about each one. I wish there was some place on HDC it could be seen with more prominance.

Now I know how my dogs feel after Ive told them off! :)
I have read the posts in the Icons list and really enjoyed whats been written, my own writing skills are nowhere the standard of those who've already contributed. However, I will have a go of writing bios for Peter Cushing & Christopher Lee on the Icons list.
There are a number of films on the sub genre 100 which already have blurbs written on the HDC top 100. Can the same ones be used or is a fresh perspective desirable?

More than desirable. The blurbs would make each top 100 unique, and thats how they should be. Plus, it always helps to have another opinion from another of the film's ardent fans in their own language. Makes the said film all the more loveable, and adds to the curiosity value of the horror fan going through the lists.

Found my list...I'll take these ones if they're still up for grabs. Wont be too offended if someone else already called 'em by now though - my own fault for putting them off, haha.
• Dead Birds
• Gothic
• Natural Born Killers
• Requiem for a Dream
• Slither
I had Nightbreed on my list initially, but when I re-watched it awhile back to refresh it in my mind for the blurb...I honestly wasn't nearly as impressed with it as I used to be. My memories were way better than the real thing - I'll gladly forfeit that one to someone with a higher opinion of it.
