FREE BIRD.
Stairway to Heaven. I like it, but really? Everyone says it's the greatest thing ever. It isn't.
Bob Dylan: Isn't that great.
Metallica. Metallica is THE most overrated and pompous band in existence.
John Mayer.
Jonas Brothers.
Tokio Hotel.
Jimi Hendrix.
Guns N' Roses (Good band if you're a huge tool)
There are plenty of these threads, but this is one to restate everything that we hate.

I agree with that.
Bob Dylan: Isn't that great.
I consider him a better poet than musician, if that makes any sense.
John Mayer.
I'm neutral on the guy, but this kind of stuff always tends to have an audience no matter if it's Connick or one of his clones.
Metallica. Metallica is THE most overrated and pompous band in existence.
I like how their sound used to be?
No real problem for me here I think they've just had their heyday.
Jonas Brothers.
Don't feel about it any worse than I do the "other" pop that floods the radio.
Tokio Hotel.
Dunno.
Guns N' Roses (Good band if you're a huge tool)
I can get not liking the style of music they do...and I think their last two albums have just been complete...shit...but I wouldn't say they're a shit band...they had the sound of their time, and by comparison to a lot of others in the same style I think they sounded alright. Then, 80's child here.
I don't really hate bands so much, there's shit I just won't listen to but that's it...the last musical act to come out I really remember disliking was Nelly, few years back now I just don't give a shit.
If I had to say something I thought was overrated, I'd say nowadays - The most recent Prodigy and "NIN" of late, both of which had tracks I actually liked, the amount of people still following these groups CRAP as though they're just trying to save face for being fans back when their shit was half decent...should maybe let go.
...and I never liked the Doors. Just weird, chaotic sounding shit to me...I've heard examples of the style (though being pretty "old" for me couldn't name them) that I've liked better.
People are strange, the exception to me.
That also reminds me, speaking of weird chaotic shit, most of what ?Bjork? does just sounds terrible to me. I'm not against the strange, but in these two cases just doesn't work for me.

Bob Dylan: Isn't that great.
Have you listened to entire Dylan albums? Bringing it All Back Home? Blood on the Tracks?

Opinions can change. Just about anyone can vouch for that. I enjoy some of Metallica's stuff, but they REALLY went soft.
I enjoy Metallica up to the Black album. Everything afterwards is retarded, with the exception of a few songs. If anyone wants to pull the "well you USED to like it" card, then you're bloody ignorant.
I have heard most of Bob Dylan's work. Especially since my mom is a fan. I don't care for him.
Also, this is where we post what we don't like. You already posted that you don't like my opinions, that isn't news, everyone knows that. Post your hates or fuck off.

Overrated. It's such an asshole word. "I don't feel the same way so you're wrong."

Yeh I get ya it wasn't a dig at you or anything. 80s Metallica rules plain and simple. Definitely not overrated it was totally pioneering especially the era with Burton and Mustaine.

Nah I think its a valid word although it does get used way to much. A lot of derivative stuff gets way to much attention while the better band/film that it knocked off goes unnoticed.

Hmmm I'll start slaughtering scared cows in this thread sometimes soon. A lot of bands that I feel this way about I'm just sick to death of because they get entirely to much airtime and I thrashed 'em to death growing up. I'm in this boat with Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Bowie, Dylan, Maiden and a few other "classics". Zeppelin really represent the bloated pig rockstar sthick that I fucking hate and have become a figure point for my hatred of the music industry... but I love Kiss go figure huh?
But then there's just the bands I just hate because they don't deserve the critical praise that gets lumped on them because there's bands with a better message not the diluted user friendly safe alternative to the real deal... shit like Anti-Flag, Green Day (if that shit's punk I fucking quit).
I don't really count pop music as "music" it's pretty disposable and only really has the money making factor in mind. The 80s really turned pop music into something awful while the 60s and 70s had some truly epic tunes.

I gotta disagree about Bowie and Pink Floyd (slightly). I don't think Bowie is very overplayed, at least not around here (or my home). It seems like he's just another 'influence'. Pink Floyd doesn't seem to get ANY play in the Atl area, with the exception of Another Brick Part.2 of course.
