when you read something on the forums you don't agree with, do you actually voice your opinion? (be honest)

Whenever I post, its always what I think, theres no point typing out stuff which you think is a load of bollocks.

If I dont think strongly/know enough about a subject I wont bother posting.

yeah. it's hard for me to allow ignorance to go undiagnosed.

No, because I usually fail horribly at putting my opinions into words.

Often times I'll type a reply, then re-read it, notice I sound like a dumbass, and not bother.

Generally if it's a topic that I give a shit about, yes...but won't really try to push the point, been there, done those circles before.

Sometimes I do but then sometimes I just wonder in and say something stupid.

Same here...Or, if I realize it will fall on deaf ears anyway and will ONLY cause an argument (which serves no purpose), I'll just let it go

*loves to debate/discuss on an intelligent level...Can't stand arguing/fighting/acting like (or being exposed to) a belligerent ass*

it depends on the subject - and who's opinion it is.

so - sometimes yes - sometimes no ...

depends on the topic....I usually stay away from the heavy, deep shit......I'm all about having fun on here.

Exactly the same for me. A lot of times people are just trying to stir up shit, or the statement seems so ignorant to me, it feels like a lost cause.

And it's virtually never that "internet debate" ever results in edifying anybody about anything so I hardly ever bother.

One of the things I was voted in school was "Most Outspoken", the internet isn't any different. If I have time, and I feel I need to say something, I will.

Nope.

2 reasons :-

1) Being outside of the US, my knowledge/opinion on the mentioned topic is either limited or doesn't matter. I have rarely seen anyone reply back to one of my opinions in any thread, so I ve stopped voicing myself and stay out of such threads.

2) If I say something, I m apprehensive about the wording of my opinion. If its even slightly different, it may cause miscommunication (happened many times before, even in this very forum).

Face to face communication with a person is a whole lot different than online communication. Words dont have physical communication (body language) in them. I am a very confident and outspoken talker in real life. But on here, I find my communication skills lacking.

Just to prove you wrong :p

Thats the fundamental difference here. Any number of times Ive re-thought how to phrase a response purely because the way it reads can be interpreted differently to when it is spoken.

If I think it may offend people to the point it just starts a pointless argument, I sometimes don't post but usually voice my opinion, if somewhat less strongly than I might have done. If it's a larger matter and not just "What's your favourite gangster film" I will grit my teeth and risk posting my full opinion.

But I never post an agreement to something I don't agree with. I either voice my opinion or don't.

I'm very hesitant to these days and I'm quoting V because I could not have worded it better myself.

Usually I try to only when I think I might do some good, change some minds or encourage others to speak up.

Sometimes, but then other times maybe not. Though I disagree, I might think the opinion unworthy of my response... that doesn't happen to often on here though.
