You shouldn't really be swearing at people who you don't know either then.

What a nice welcome to the site.... don't think I'll be returning if people are going to be so rude.

I appreciate honesty and advice, but that was too far.

I don't think I made an all-too good first impression (just a hunch...) but I was excited about creating my film blog that I wanted people to have a look and see what they thought - I'll forget that idea now then!

I'll tell you a little bit about my love of horror. I love all the slashers, particularly I know what you did..., Urban Legend, Cherry Falls, Halloween, Friday the 13th... I love Texas Chainsaw and am a big fan of the Psycho series too.

I love the SAW series, and I like quite a lot of films that are slighty pyschological/horror like Indentity, Vacancy, Disturbia, The Ring.

Not too keen on the gore-filled films of today like The Strangers, The Cave, Haunting in Connecticut.

Hope I've proven myself a little bit that I am a true horror fan! Jsust got off to a bad start thats all...

Ahh well done, I see you've been doing your homework! Top marks for you! Yeah I live near London, are you from America?

Britain never has any good horror films (The Hole being a good example!) Whats your views?

I thought 28 Weeks Later, Dogsoldiers and especially The Decent were very good horror flicks. So don't hate yourself too much, miss.

Haven't actually seen those three so can't comment on that. The Hole though is abysmal, that probably put me off British Horror!

Try watching good horror movies in the future. Maybe that'll help ya.

Good thing you came across this place just in time.

The best thing about this place is, you learn SO much...And you have really got a LOT to learn if you believe your above statement.

Shaun Of The Dead is AWESOME!!!!...and if you like the 'weird' films, Mum And Dad isn't too bad....

Hang out for a while and you'll be Googling and IMDBing like crazy...You may be surprised at what you'll find over in your neck of the woods ;)

I'm an American. Angra is from Sweden...or Finland....Norway....somewhere over there where they have Vikings.

I'll add to Angra's list

Eden Lake, Shaun of the Dead, Creep.

I'll take any of these over the Saw movies. I liked the first one because of its originality......the rest were just retreads. I'm surprised you like them so much after stating you aren't big on "gore" movies.

Shaun of the Dead

Nyah Nyah...I beat you :p

Oh, but I love CREEP!...You got me on that one :)

Black Sheep is New Zealand...Not British, but it's over that way, and it's an awesome horror movie, too :)

True actually, I really liked Shaun of the Dead, forgot that one!

Yeah I'm not a big fan of gore, but I find the SAW series is quite predictable, like you know when the gore is going to happen, so I can tolorate that, plus some of it looks really fake. If all else fails and I can't stand to watch, I've found a good solution... shutting my eyes!

Films like The Grudge, Amityville Horror where they are there to make you jump and scare you in that sense, I quite enjoy.

Hehe. The Saw series is a picnic with rainbows and unicorns compared to Braindead AKA Dead Alive. :D

In the 50's through 70s Britain was a haven for great horror. You just need to watch some older stuff. It will also help you get perspective on the genre and encourage people to take you more seriously.

Yeah, I don't mean to sound like an ass, but there are twice as many blogs as there are people on earth. No one really cares to read them unless you really know your shit (that's not swearing at you right?) So if you are about to blog about something don't just sit down and start typing, do some research first. Look at your competition when it comes to horror blogs and try not to post about exactly what everyone else is talking about. Look at the history of films and compare, learn a bit about film analysis. That's what I would do.

Then, once you have a few really good, in depth posts you can start advertising. You may have already learned that joining a forum just to advertise doesn't go over well, but you're doing a great job at getting to know everyone and fitting in so far. I will check out your blog later and maybe comment. Good luck.

That's why I anti-blog. Other than the occasional shameless plug or book review, I try to make my blog as devoid of pertinent information as possible. But, if you want to find out how Bigfoot is almost definitely Superman or the sinister connection between clowns and I-Hop, or watch me answer my Spam, it's the place to go.

So you like all the major franchises from the U.S and you think The Strangers was gory...

And you don't like gore but do like the saw movies...

Miss. Confessions

Yeah, I try to avoid all the newish ones coming out at the moment, because they all seem too similar and I prefer the good old fashioned slasher (which had good storys but not much gore - Halloween for example) And if there was blood/gore, it was minimal or looked really fake!

About the SAW comment, you're right, I don't like gore BUT I somehow love the SAW series, mainly cus the story is really clever, lots of twists but its originality is starting to fade film by film. Plus, there quite predictable as in you always know when the gory bits are coming, so I just don't look most of the time!

Just between us two old farts, yes I did. In fact I married her in July 2007.
Took 49 years but ol' Drac finally bit the marriage dust. I didn't say anything
here on the forum because I didn't want to break all the lovely ladies hearts here at HDC :p :D She was definitely worth waiting for....my old ass is extremely lucky.
