Because we just got a 40 inch TV!

Previously we had a simple, 28 inch but yesterday my dad came home with a 40 inch LCD TV. I can't get enough of it, and considering 99% of us are movie lovers I assume that we all have televisions to watch them on. Our new television is, as I said, LCD, 40 inch, it's black, it's a sony (which goes with our surround sound and DVD player) and it's a Bravia.

I never really minded our old television. It did the job and never seemed small, although now it's dwarfed by our new one. But this thread is not alone to talk about the size of televisions, all round television preferences.

I personally prefer LCD to Plasma, because I find LCD seems to hold more colour, and the televisions are slimmer. But I'd choose Plasma over glass any day because I can not stand the reflections of a television (another benefit of our new TV, I won't have to have the curtains closed to see the picture in the day time!)

So what are your television preferences? Do you think size matters? Do you prefer LCD, Glass, Plasma or anything else? Do you have a preferred colour for the television i.e. black or silver or (god forbid) pink? What television have you got? Have you got surround sound? All that stuff!

I prefer a great crt but it's not cost or space effective, LCD is ok for now until laser and OLED televisions are released/drop in price. First HDTV Ferret?

Yeh, until now we haven't really been up to scratch on the latest televisions.

The reason we got our last one is because even though Widescreen was just coming about (Yeh, we had it that long) they hadn't quite perfected it, so it seemed it was the better choice at the time.

I'm still perfectly happy with my 25" RCAs :p

As long as I can watch massive amounts of horror movies, it's all good...I don't really watch broadcast television...There are only 3 current shows that even interest me, and I watch them online...Supernatural, Reaper and Metalocalypse (Aqua Teen Hunger Force has gotten too stupid - It's really sad)...For all of my favorite shows that are no longer on, I have DVDs.

I used to love ATHF and then it got really bad, stopped watching somewhere in the middle of season 4.

That's exactly when it started happening...Season 5 is garbage...
