So, I left work early on Friday as I was having pain in my left side. As the day progressed, it wasn't going away. I had my nephew take me to the ER. Turns out I have divurticulitis (sp?). Just got home from the hospital. Have to change my diet (no nuts, seeds, corn, popcorn, things like that), and have to have a colonoscopy in a couple weeks.
That was my weekend.....spent in the hospital. How was yours? :p

Mine was o.k thanks for asking, though all the sporting teams I follow lost...
That's 3 games of pain....
Sorry to hear about your mishap, the dietry change isn't that bad, just look at it as somthing new aand challenging. You get to create new food .
I hope you are feeling better Lady Hammer.

Aawww I hope you feel better. :( Weekends in the ER suck, I did that last weekend and it was no fun at all.
This weekend went way better so I'm happy. I got to play my zombies D&D game where I play the nerdy comic book store clerk. I leveled up and got to add all sorta of new things. My character now knows German, and has max stats in pop culture knowledge and knowledge arcana, as well as research and computer use. I'm basically Willow from Buffy.

Thanks, Disease. I was going to have the colonoscopy anyway, for my 50th birthday. My maternal grandmother died from colon cancer, so I have to keep on top of it.

Sorry to hear about this, sounds like you'll have to have a complete dietary change but I hope its not severe.
All the best anyways

I'm prepared for it. It'll suck, but you do what you gotta do, right?

Though you probably don't have them, but I'm sure you have somthing similar, every kid grows up on them in Australia. The similar thing they have here in the U.K are horrible though. I can't eat them.

Actually, there's a store here called Trader Joe's that has them. Never tried them, tho. Guess I ate too many cheesesteaks and pizza! ;)

Oh, no. I'm really sorry to hear that. Gastro-problems truly are a pain, but like you said: you must do what you must do.
Strange thing: My brother was just in the hospital today for stomach pains, and it turned out to be gastritis.
At any rate, I hope you feel better as soon as possible.

Yes, I hope you get better soon, Hammer!
I got a used DVD of Horror of Dracula and it's gorgeous...the most beautiful restored print. Beautiful color.
This aging thing is fun...ain't it:D
don't worry about the colonoscopy....it really is nothing...cept the prep...but I'm sure you've heard all about that. Just stock up on a couple of magazines and have a little sit for a bit. ;)

its annoying to waste a weekend, and its a real pain in the ass to have to change eating patterns. that one i can attest to. it gets easier after a while but its still extremely inconvenient.
good to hear it isnt more serious than that.
my weekend was spent relaxing and recovering from the brain crushing cold i had last week.
i thought i'd just sit around watching movies - and figured - while i was on my ass - i might as well do something that needed doing for a long time...
cataloging my DVDs. jesus what a nightmare.

Sorry to hear that Hammer. :( My dad was diagnosed with that recently and had to change his diet too. Though after a few weeks he was able to eat some of the regular stuff he'd been eating in small amounts, but really he didn't miss it too much since they made him feel terrible. You think you will miss them now, but after you get used to not eating them and feeling so much better, you won't miss it that much because you know it'll just make you feel like crap again. So, good luck! :)

My deepest sympathies, M.
I d rather not elaborate on my weekend, or weekends for that matter. 2009 has been really, really shitty so far.
