Civilian Name*:Eric Westward
Hero Alias*:Volpone
Status (Good, Bad, Civilian)*:Good
Abilities*: Iron Man meets the Green Arrow. Inventor and technopath posing as heir to a newspaper dynasty, Retains mental control over several robotic vigilantes dressed in the style of seventeenth century swashbucklers and wearing metallic fox masks. He sees through their eyes and via telepathic cues can speak through their mouths. Each one calls himself Volpone, so the populace is convinced they are a single hero operating from the shadows. All are equipped with automatic pistols with various custom rounds of ammunition (incendiary, freezing, explosive), electrified rapier tasers and smokebombs and each possesses physical strength and agility outside the range of normal humans. Only one may be controlled at a time.
Personality:Very outgoing and witty but somewhat arch and snotty to those who donīt know him. Very awkward around women. Think a kind of geeky intellectual Oliver Queen.
Costume:Volpones are all dressed in red cloaks and cavalier gear with swashbuckler hats and red fox masks. Eric himself occasionally dons the costume to throw people off the trail of the truth and compensates via gadgetry for his normal human physical abilities.

The_Return
03-18-2009, 05:32 PM
Civilian Name: David Artaud

Hero Alias: Momus

Status: Good as Artaud, Evil as Momus

Abilities*: Momus has impeccable powers of persuasion. It is unknown whether the source of his power stems from the supernatural or simply from an unrivaled understanding of the human psyche, but whatever the case may be, he can implant thoughts and impulses into the minds of others at will.

His powers over the human mind do not end there. He can awaken others to the true nature of their being...an experience that none can walk away from unscarred. The effects of this power have varying results...at best, a violent madness ensues. At worst, the victim experiences a total loss of self – the complete destruction of the psyche.

While his powers do manifest in both sides of his personality, Artaud is entirely unaware of his gifts.

Personality:

Artaud: A truly tortured soul. He suffers from severe mental disorders: though he can survive in regular society, he is in a constant struggle with his inner self. His thoughts tear him apart...though he yearns desperately to be “normal”, his brain ceaselessly rages with thoughts of pain, death and – above all – a crippling fear of finally losing all grip on reality. It is as though his own mind is constantly mocking him. Despite all of this, he tries his best to remain an upstanding member of society, and – in his own way – fights against injustice whenever possible.

Momus: The outward embodiment of everything dark about human nature. A being of pure impulse...violent, manipulative, selfish and cruel.

For the most part, Artaud is unaware of his activities as Momus – for these are the times that his mind truly takes control of him. He only has the most rudimentary and base recollections of this second life; he wakes up confused, and the missing hours seem like little more than a dream...

Sounds good so far, everyone. Though I think I may have to tone Dante's character down a bit. I'll do one for myself.

Civilian Name*: Wayne Lucas
Hero Alias*: Blur
Status (Good, Bad, Civilian)*: Good
Abilities*: Reflexes, Speed, Strength (Not superhuman strength, just "lifts a lot of weights" strength)
Personality: The smartass hero with a quick wit. 18 years old. He seems to be completely happy when in public. But when he's in civilian mode he seems very sad and is nearly a shut-in. He feels lonely and life seems to move much slower for him. He lives in a small apartment by himself.
Costume: Street Clothes. He doesn't care if people see him, though that rarely occurs. He still keeps his name secret.

03-18-2009, 06:54 PM
Civilian Name: Rikki Lee

Hero Alias: The Dier

Status : Neutral (though does his best to be good)

Abilities: Not so much of an ability as a curse, the Diers soul must find a new body every ten days. Once he inhabits a body, it is slated to die within ten days. The previous soul will be forced into the previous body to its doom. If the Dier does not choose his own body, his soul will immediately inhabit the closest humanoid body to him without choice, forcing the persons soul in it to its doom

Personality: Lonely and withdrawn, the Dier has been known to help out with good causes when he can. He must be very careful of his clock, though, and prefers to keep company with those terminally ill or whom he views as deserving the fate to ease his own psychological burden.

Costume: Whatever his newest host is wearing.

03-18-2009, 09:57 PM
Civilian Name*: Vallen Abraxas

Hero Alias*: Renegade

Status (Good, Bad, Civilian)*: Vigilante. Can be good, can be bad.

Abilities*: Has the uncanny ability to transform, metamorphose or fuse together common, everyday objects into deadly weapons of his choice - - bullets, cartridges, timer bombs, rockets, guns...even huge ones, according to the situation he finds himself in. He is a crack shot and never misses his targets.

Carries a pair of .45s with him wherever he goes, and doesnt need anything else because of his unique ability. Has a brooding, dark side to his superhero personality.

Personality: Vallen was originally a hardened sniper in the Marine Corps. A steely frame and huge body, with a soft heart and jovial, friendly persona. Once he returned home to Twilight City on the Fourth of July weekend and found out that a local Jamaican cult gang, the Voodoo Skulls, had been terrorising his neighborhood for the past year. He came face-to-face with the gang when he walked into an alley where they tortured a helpless old man to death. Blinded by rage at what he witnessed, he beat up several of the gang members with his bare hands...injuring himself in that incident too.

After the gang members fled, he returned home and was chided and reprimanded for his conduct by his wife and 11 year old son who treated his injuries. Later that night, the Voodoo Skulls stormed into Vallen's house and grabbed hold of him before he could react. He was tied firmly to a living room post with barbed wire which cut deep into his already wounded hands, legs and neck, and was left a raging, furious but helpless spectator to the brutal and bloody gang-rape of his wife, who was left naked and spread-eagled on the floor, and bled profusely till a gang member walked over and slit her throat.

They then proceeded to cut his son in several places, pulling his tongue out and slashing it clean off his mouth. All the while Vallen roared, moaned, tried to wrench himself out of his bonds but the barbed wire kept digging in deeper, opening his wounds. Finally when his son extended his bloody arms towards him in sheer helplessness, a gang member grabbed his hair and slit his throat brutally too. Vallen could do nothing but watch in his weakened state, utterly helpless. When they put a knife to his throat, his numb, grieving mind welcomed the darkness as the knife slid across his throat slowly, and laughter echoed all around his house in the darkness of the night.

Vallen got rescued by one of his Marine Corps friends who came to visit the next morning. Barely alive, his throat was sewn back together (the scars of which he carries till this day) and he was patched up and taken to the Marine Corps hospital. It took eight whole months for him to regain his health back, and all this time the rage inside him kept building...stronger and more stronger.

Tried to escape several times from the Corps to get his revenge, but everytime he was caught and brought back. Frustrated by his repeated attempts and lack of commitment to his job, The Marine Corps sent him to a secret base somewhere in Nevada, where his name was included for a military experiment against his will. He kept protesting while he was chained to the chair and got subjected to several physical, psychological and extremely rigorous experiments. Because of this, his unconscious part of the brain woke up and he became extremely smart and agile, and managed to escape the secret base through extremely tight security.

Wandering for days with the military on his back (dodging them again and again), he stumbled into a town, stole some clothes and a vehicle, and manage to drive across to Twilight City. Confronting the Voodoo Skulls in their own lair, and in a huge frenzy of furious rage, he proceeded to smash everything in his path...hacking the heads off every single gang member and hanging their heads on the doors of their lair. He then tracked down the rest of the gang and finished all of them off, before vanishing into the night.

A known, sworn enemy of street gangs and drug dealers all around Twilight City, his hometown. Gang cartels and motorcycle gangs tremble in fear at the mention of his name. Sometimes works for the underworld and the mafia, sometimes against them - it all depends on the purpose.

Has no affinity nor is driven for money.

Can communicate with birds, dogs, wolves and bats in their language. They also act as his spies as they patrol Twilight City on his behalf. They also aid him when he finds himself in a tight spot.

Declared as vigilante. The military is still searching him. Present whereabouts is unknown.

Costume: Wears black all the time. Black jeans or leather pants, with a black tee shirt and jacket, and a black overcoat. Black goggles. Bulletproof vest beneath. Holsters for his .45s on either side of his chest, under the forearms. If on a mission, he uses a M40 Remington sniper rifle. Can carry concealed weapons too. Because of his skills and his unique ability, he is considered to be THE most dangerous vigilante in the US today.

Unpredictable, lightning fast and stays merged in the shadows. Impossible to detect, even with infra-red or nightvision goggles.

Usually rides a totally black, modified Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

I'm gonna try and make this guy kinda like a version of me...but a hell of a lot better. Oh, and older. But not much.

Name: Gabriel Fret.
Hero Alias: Eidolon. (Reason behind found here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eidolon_(astral_double) )
Status: Good.
Abilities: Shift into a spectral state. When in this state he is not able to effect anything, but is bound by them. By this, I mean he could jump into a wall and though he would not cause it to shake of disturb any dust, he could not go through it, same with punching people. Due to this, things cannot effect him. He could be punched in this state, but would not be damaged in any way (though would be moved by the impact). He can also bend gravity to his will in this spectral state, thus making flight possible.
But there are downsides. His entire body must be in one state or another. No moving his arm out of it so he can punch but not be shot etc. Also, he cannot effect air. Though he does not need to breathe, he can't speak, as the air does not vibrate. Nor can he hear. The one thing that does effect him is light. He casts a translucent shadow and can see. And if it's okay with him, Doc/ volpone has engineered clothes and blades to be compatible with Eidolon's DNA, and thus, they can travel into the state with him (though are too bound by the same restrictions he is.)
Personality: Not very charismatic and enjoys the use of longer words. Slightly sarcastic and very willing to make alliances and work as a team. He's more the guy who spies on the enemy and works well in short attacks and backup than the main man. Doesn't have a job. Lives off of odds and ends he can take and some money a relative left behind.
Costume: Grey sweatshirt with a thin layer of protection underneath. A white diamond with a grey swirl roughly sprayed on. Black trousers that are easy to move in and quite tough. All Star Converse shoes. Long hair obscures face. Wears Glasses when not fighting. Probably a belt with the weapons. Maybe one stored up the sleeve as well.

Name: Ron Kokkivoc

Hero Alias: Gore The Red

Status: Hero

Abilities: Gore has super human strength and the ability to charm anyone he comes across. Think of it as a possession when he possess the person by casting a sort of spell on them to make them do what he wants them to do.

Personality: Ron is a loner who is nice for the most part but when he needs to be he goes into his assholish cocky mode. He is a sweetheart to the ladies, a great friend to the guys but to people he doesn't really know he comes off as sort of a asshole/loner type. As Gore the Red he is a sarcastic, witty, funny, dark humored guy with cocky type of remarks and stuff.

Costume: Black hoodie and black pants with blood red lines down the pant legs.

I know everyone wants to be bad guys cause it's fun but come on, let's have some good guys! The story needs them.

Now, I feel like giving an origin story.

Gabriel Fret was a pretty lame guy. He was english. He had a job cleaning the floor of KFC, but rarely actually did it. Didn't have many friends and his house was a two room place. Bedroom/ lounge/ kitchen/ dining room and a bathroom. His cousin had a spare ticket to go to Greece and so Gabriel got invited. While they were there they won a competition where the prize was a terror bungie jump. A dive into a deep cavern. On his jump, whilst in the cavern, the cord snapped and he fell 60 feet down to the bottom.

He was recovered an hour later and had sever head injuries. Somehow, against all odds, he survived. Everything seemed fine and he left the hospital with nothing but a scabbed wound on the top of his head. He went home and everything seemed to be going well, just as usual. Then one night, whilst watching television, the wound began rapidly spreading. Gabriel ran for the phone but it had reached his hand, a scabby mess. As he tried to run to the door his legs stopped, too covered in black scabs. Then, they started cracking. After hours of agonizing pain without being able to scream, the scabs broke off, and Gabriel found himself in the spectral state. In fact, he could switch between it and normality with ease, like breathing.

He used it for pretty usual stuff. Being a peeping tom mainly. One day, however, one of the women started getting attacked. He ran managed to jump through a window into her house but couldn't help. Filled with fear, watching the woman get beaten for money, Gabriel just couldn't leave the spectral state and was unable to help. The woman survived...just. And so, Gabriel traveled to Greece and trained with a man who called himself Hermed. Someone who seemed to know all about him, who taught him to control his fear.

Long story short, he succeeded and controls his fear to the best of his ability, using his powers both for selfish and perverted needs and to save those who need it. And from what I can gather, he seems to be on good terms with Volpone.

Yeah, that was the plan. Maybe a nice Irish coffee or something, much more ladylike and makes more sense for a shy girl. Love the "luck of the Irish" power though. Just not getting hit by punches out of luck. Kind of like getting an extra hit die in D&D. I actually took a feat in my last campaign called luck that gave extra re-rolls.

Civilian Name: Unknown - He just goes by Brix.

Alias: Brix

Status (Good, Bad, Civilian): Mercenary - He'll be good, bad or anything in between depending on who's paying him.

Abilities: No super powers, but he has a massive arsenal of damn near every weapon known to man and even a few that aren't known to man, spoils of war taken from defeated foes. While he doesn't have super powers, he is an extremely tough dude. Very fast, very strong, very agile for a guy his size and extremely good at hand to hand combat. He's a lot smarter than he looks (he looks like a brute.) There is speculation that he was once trained as an Army ranger, but that is unconfirmed due to the fact that no one knows his real name.

Personality: Cold blooded and all about the dollars. He'll do anything to anyone if the price is right. He's uninterested in anything besides completing whatever task he's on to collect his paycheck. When he doesn't have an assignment he can be found at the local shithole bar pouring down shots and beating the shit out of anyone that gets on his nerves.

Costume: t-shirt, jeans, sometimes a trenchcoat. Very ordinary looking aside from his massive muscles and battle scars.

Background: His background is largely a mystery. The CIA believes that he's personally been responsible for the deaths of no less than 200 people all over the globe, including men, women, children, druglords and foreign diplomats. He has no known aliases and has spent a lot of time on the FBI's Top 10 most wanted list. He was captured by the FBI in 2005 but mysteriously released. Speculation is that the FBI traded him a high profile assassination mission in exchange for his own freedom, but that has never been confirmed. He's an expert in explosives, firearms and hand to hand combat. He roams from state to state finding jobs, executing them with an alarming success rate and then moving on. He has been photographed by surveillance teams in New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, Reno, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Mexico City, and Dublin in the past decade, but has since fallen off the radar. His current whereabouts are unknown. He has no family, no friends and no love interests.

I may expand on his story if I think of anything else.

You're Irish characters 'Luck' power could be used in many ways. Correctly guess safe lock combinations, alarm codes, internet passwords etc etc.

How about four-leaf clover style throwing stars which can double up as bookmarks?

Sure, he can have a vehicle.

Vehicle: Bullet proof van, tinted glass, loaded with weapons and ammo and a Harley Davidson chopper style motorcycle that he keeps loaded in the rear for when he needs to get in to those hard to reach places or be a little conspicuous.

Some backstory: Continued Later

At the age of five, a lonely Eric Westward, son of the city's answer to Charles Foster Kane was playing outside alone, pretending to be the hero of his favorite movie, Captain Blood. As he battled imaginary pirates into the street, he didn't notice the car barreling down on him until almost too late. "Don't!" he screamed out to nothing in particular, and it didn't. The car stopped cold right in front of him. There was a buzzing in his head and a strange subconscious impression that felt like something was saying "okay." He wanted to dismiss it as nothing, but the incidents kept occurring. Whenever he got angry, the air conditioner in the house increased the temperature, when sad, it began to decrease it. But even as fantasy prone a child as Eric was, he didn't want to believe it. He didn't want to be a freak that talked to cars and air conditioners, he wanted to be something great, he wanted to be like Errol Flynn or Douglas Fairbanks or the other stars from the old swashbuckling movies he liked so much. But, destiny, as it often does, pulled Eric in a different direction. Eric's mother saw that the boy was distraught about something and told her neglectful husband to take the boy somewhere. Mr. Westward reluctantly agreed, taking his son on a trip to Italy aboard his private jet. But, in spite of his Mr. Westward's good intentions, he had a difficult time dealing with his son, who bothered his father with persistent questions and desperate bids for affection. Mr. Westward didn't know how to deal with it. He yelled, told the boy to "read one of your goddamn books and let me enjoy the flight." Eric was crushed and hurt, his mood plummeted from elated at getting to see his father to miserable. As he grew sadder and angrier, the plane heard him and became unstable. It went down, but a lucky Eric survived, picked up by monks at an Italian monastery.

Alright, I figure I'll add a backstory to mine and encourage everyone else to do so if they want to. I'm tweeking some details in my original description.

Wayne Lucas was born in a rural community to a very patriotic family. His father died of a heart attack shortly after he was born. His brother was killed in Iraq when Wayne was 16. His mother went into depression and was deemed unfit to take care of Wayne who was moved into the city with his bachelor uncle for the next 2 years.

He had taken a liking to a girl he went to school with him although he had never spoken to her. One day he found her in an alley being mugged, he tried to protect her but was stabbed in the side and had to watch the mugger carve her face beyond repair.

After he had recovered he lost all will to live and enlisted in a military experimentation program, figuring if he was going to die he could at least do it trying to help his country, he wasn't aloud to go into battle due to his depression. Through the experiments he was given super speed, he was sent home and signed a contract stating he wouldn't reveal the details or existence of the experiments to anyone.

Upon returning home he got a job as a clerk at a comic shop and moved out of his uncle's into his own apartment. One night on his way home he saw another mugging taking place, being reminded of the girl he'd watched he stopped it by knocking the mugger out in one punch without being seen. He felt better about himself having saved a life and continued to do so.

Civilian Name*: Amanda Blank

Hero Alias*: Fera

Status (Good, Bad, Civilian)*: Reluctantly Good, but has her own interests in mind. She pursues her own agenda, but will provide her services to other superheroes or organizations that she deems "good"... For a fee.

Abilities*: Fera is a mechanical genius, using her knowledge of gears, machinery, and engineering to create all means of robotics, specifically of the animal variety (from mechanical lifelike flying beetles with miniature video cameras and audio recorders to pigeons to seemingly feral cats). To some extent, she can also communicate and command actual animals, though it's not clear that this ability is a true super-human ability, or actually in her head and symptom of insanity. Her chosen weapon is a set of miniature poison darts laced with organic homegrown poisons harvested from various reptiles and amphibians. Her darts are colored per type of poison. Yellow is a tranquilizer that puts the target to sleep. Blue is a truth serum. Green is a paralyzer that keeps her victim awake, but in a state of paralysis. Red is poisonous and causes death.

Personality: Amanda/Fera is stiff, obsessive compulsive, methodical, practical, and painstakingly beautiful. She is brutally honest, gruff, and incredibly sardonic to those whom she sees as intellectual inferiors. Her dayjob is in a Cancer research laboratory that performs experiments on animals. Her morals are questionable. While she loves animals, she sees the experiments as being for the greater good. Also, her job gives her access to animals, both dead and alive that she might either control with her mind (if alive) or perform her own mechanical experiments on (if dead). Her personal agenda: Personal wealth. She uses her animals to gain access to the PINs and security codes of the insanely rich in order to rob them blind to subsidize her own obsessive experimentation. She is also obsessed with collecting all matter of bones and skeletons, fossils, and uses her wealth to collect rare specimens to study (from dinosaurs to mammals). To satiate these crimes, she donates just as obsessively to lower-income education, and animal advocacy programs. She also periodically frees animals from her research facility that are facing horrible fates.

Costume: Labcoat, corset, riding pants, knee-high boots, and goggles

My backstory, continued:
Grateful to be away from the hum of machinery and upset over the crash, Eric decided to stay. The monks were nice and books were plentiful and he felt good there. For ten years he studied with them, sought answers to ethical questions and purged some of his personal demons. The monks were amazed a child so young had so many concerns, had such interest in ethics and was so devoted to self improvement. Finally, he had the courage to return to America. The flight home was the real test. Could he fly without his curse killing everyone? With the newfound calm gained from years of solitude, contemplation and prayer, he made it home without incident and his mother was happy to have him back. When enrolled in private school, he excelled in all subjects. He also came to terms with the fact that his powers were a gift from God. In college, he took to engineering, while his leisure time was spent emulating his childhood idols: he learned to fence. After he finished school, his mother passed on and he was forced to take over his father's publishing concern. While he had always loved to read, he had not approved of his father's malicious, "anything to sell papers and magazines" attitude. He was once more unsure, until he realized that he could do good with the word. He took over the business, encouraging journalism with a more liberal, humanitarian stance, exposing slumlords, corrupt politicians and all manner of indecencies. His publishing empire was devoted to doing good. But, it wasn't enough. So much corruption went unpunished, so many villains still walked the streets. At the monastery and as a publisher alike, he had learned the power of icons and the need for something to have faith in. Faith would empower people, make them better, encourage them to stand up to corruption. He decided to take his fencing skills and style himself a vigilante. He took to the streets dressed in a foppish swashbuckler outfit, and was more or less beaten to a bloody pulp. Then, he decided to combine his powers with his love of fencing and designed a gadget infused variation on his costume, which soon had local crime bosses cowering. He secretly channeled more of his resources into robotics, which allowed him to create a robotic duplicate that he could connect with via his technopathic powers. There would be no telltale scars, no chance of being unmasked and a perfect alibi. He has since created fifteen different Volpones and a number of inventions. By alternating between engaging in crimefighting himself and sending out his robots, he is able to maintain a nigh perfect alibi.

If we're allowed to suggest more I have another one. There don't seem to be many civillians.

Name: Alan Leczuz

Hero Alias: AL

Status: Civillian (Good)

"Abilities": Knows a lot of information.

Personality: Respects and helps the heroes as best he can. He's a kind, social guy who knows more than he lets on. He has a wife and children.

Role and Backstory: Alan Lucas is a pretty high up guy in the pentagon. He's worked there for sixteen years. One day, whilst wandering through the city where this is set, he nearly crushed by a falling fire escape ladder. Luckily, he was pushed away by Gore the Red, who promptly left. Astounded and greatful, he went back to work and tried to get some kind of funding or help for the superheroes. Unfortunately, the government did not agree with aiding vigilantes and it only drew more attention to catching the vigilante superheroes.
So, Lucas kept quiet for a while, trying to forget it. But his guilt for harming the hero's cause was overwhelming and so he used his position in the Pentagon to aid them, finding out any suspiscious information and sending it to whatever hero he can. However, the amount he can help is limited due to the watchful eye of the government. He has no idea who the heroes really are, and vice versa. He taps into security cameras, digs up files etc.
Costume: Just a simple brown suit.

Okay, to get folks pumped up I'll do a little preview. This time featuring Brix

INT. Roland Kassir's Mansion - NIGHT

FADE IN:

Cigar smoke fills a large room decorated with only a desk and a chair on both sides of it. The desk is on the opposite end of the room from the windows, which take up an entire wall. In the chair with it's back to the wall is ROLAND KASSIR (50s) a drug lord. He's bald and a scar runs from the center of the top of his head down to his right ear. A black cane with a golden handle is leaning on the desk. It looks fairly new. A younger man in a baseball cap opens the door and pokes his head in.

KASSIR'S EMPLOYEE
He's here.

ROLAND KASSIR
Check him first and send him in.

KASSIR'S EMPLOYEE
Yes, sir.

Kassir's employee closes the door, a few moments later the door opens and a large, muscular man walks in. He's wearing a brown trenchcoat over a black T-Shirt and jeans. His brown steel-towed boots leaving indentations in the floor. There is a scar across his cheek and one from his left eyebrow to the temple The shoulders of his trenchcoat are dripping with rain. This is BRIX. He remains standing.

BRIX
You know, normally the desks are in front of the window.

ROLAND KASSIR
I'm aware. I wasn't... satisfied with that arrangement.

Roland rubs the scar on his head.

ROLAND KASSIR
Have a seat.

BRIX
I'm fine. What do you want?

His voice is like rocks in a washing machine.

ROLAND KASSIR
(nervous)
Okay... Right. As you know there has been a lot of trouble stirring up lately because of the kids who think they can just come in and take my town with their hallucinogens and party drugs. You see what I'm getting at?

BRIX
How many of them?

ROLAND KASSIR
There's three in charge. I know your rates.

Roland slides a large stack of CASH in front of Brix. He takes his left hand from his pocket and returns it with the stack in hand.

ROLAND KASSIR
You're not going to count it?

BRIX
I know you're not stupid enough to try and pull shit on me.

ROLAND KASSIR
So can you get the job done?

Brix pulls both hands from his pockets, reaches into his coat and pulls out a shiny, gold-colored desert eagle. There is blood smeared on the knuckles of his right hand.

ROLAND KASSIR
How did you get that in here? I told him to check you.

Brix smiles and stands up to leave. When he exits he leaves the door open. Roland calls for his employee, nothing He stands up and limps out of the door only to discover his employee slumped against the wall, a large dent where his face used to be.

Name: Rosie the Riveter and the Dregs (hero and villain, retired)
Age:80/83
Real names: Rosie O' Shea and Walter Jones

During World War 2, many of America's heroes were off fighting the good fight against Hitler. Walt Jones, rejected for military service due to his asthma decided he had found a great opportunity. In an America free of superheroes, a costumed villain could really flourish. So, he got on a black suit and a pair of springed boots and became a bank robber. But, the Dregs was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Just as women were picking up the slack in the workplace, superpowered Rosie O' Shea was picking up the slack on the streets as powerhouse Rosie the Riveter. Not knowing that the Dreg's jumping abilities were not the product of superhuman talents, Rosie gave him all she had, which was enough to send the Dregs flying through a wall, break several of his bones and knock him out. A guilty Rosie felt bad that she had done all of this to a regular joe, so came to visit him frequently in the hospital. Walter fell in love with her right away, but it took some time for the hood to grow on Rosie. Walter swore he'd never return to crime if she would go to dinner with him just once. She agreed and that first date began a lifelong relationship. When the War ended, Rosie decided to give up superheroing and together, they opened Rosie's Place, a place for superheroes to gather, reminisce, share info and be themselves. Rosie works the door while Walter tends bar.

A small drop of blood from where he was hit with a billy-club drips onto the floor. A female officer sitting behind a desk stands up.

FEMALE OFFICER
Which one is this?

MALE OFFICER #1
The burning homicide on Scott Lane.

CUT TO:

INT. TWILIGHT CITY POLICE DEPT, HOLDING CELL - NIGHT

The two male officers throw the unconscious murderer into the holding cell, which already contains a sleeping homeless man. Ink covers the unconscious man's fingers. After a few moments in the cell his eyes open, his irises are a dark brown around the iris, but surrounding the outer-edges is a piercing electric blue. The whites are red and cracked like lightning bolts striking the iris. When his eyes open the lights flicker and his hair begins to stand up. This is RED DYNAMO. He turns around to piece together where he is. He watches the two officers outside of the cell. The first officer is holding a manila filing folder.

MALE OFFICER #1
We got the results back on the prints.

MALE OFFICER #2
Yeah, and?

MALE OFFICER #1
It's James Macky.

The second officer stares blankly for a moment before a look of recognition hits his face.

MALE OFFICER #2
You mean THE James Macky? Danny Macky's kid?

MALE OFFICER #1
Yep. That's little Jamey Macky.

The first officer looks to the cell and sees Macky is awake.

MALE OFFICER #1
You know, ever since that night I scooped up your dad I wondered when I would finally see you come back here. Did you know that?

James stares at him, the red lightning bolts in his eyes haven't left.

MALE OFFICER #1
I almost lost my job because you ran away. How about that? Did you know that?

RED DYNAMO
Well you don't deserve to protect people. I outsmarted you and i was 10.

The male officer, obviously angered, rolls his sleeves up. The female officer rushes in. A worried expression plagues her otherwise pretty face.

FEMALE OFFICER
We just got an I.D. on Macky's victim...

MALE OFFICER #2
Yeah? Who is the Char-Head?

FEMALE OFFICER
It was Fitzgerald.

An expression of shock falls on the second officer's face. The first officer's glare on Macky grows more intense.

MALE OFFICER #1
What is it? Do you hate cops?

RED DYNAMO
Yeah...

MALE OFFICER #1
Alright, how did you do it?

RED DYNAMO
That's for me to know and for you to find out... Very soon.

Fed up, The first officer pulls out his keys and sticks one into a lock. As he pushes the door open James leaps forward and grabs the bars. Sending a current through them he shocks the officer and stops his heart. He drops to the ground, dead. Both officer's shuffle for their guns. The female officer gets on her walkie to shout for help. James ignores her and goes straight for the second officer and grabs both sides of his head. The officer's face slowly becomes more and more burned. James releases his grasp and the officer drops to the ground, also dead. He waits patiently for the female officer to finish calling backup. Officers begin to enter the room and stand in front of the exit pointing their guns at him. He puts his hands up as if he's surrendering. His hair begins to stand up straighter. A large bolt of Staccato lightning crashes through the roof and burns every officer to death. James smiles.

CUT TO:

INT. TWILIGHT CITY POLICE DEPT., EVIDENCE ROOM - NIGHT

James enters the dark evidence room, his eyes, still cracked, shift upward and the lights cut on. He walks to a shelf and grabs the silver mask that hides his nose and mouth. He dons the mask and exits the evidence room.

CUT TO:

EXT. TWILIGHT CITY SKYLINE - NIGHT

The rain has gotten heavy, pummeling all of Twilight City's beautifully-lit buildings. When suddenly a roar of thunder and large bolt of lightning CRASHES over the city and all of the lights go out.

FADE OUT

I'm still putting it all together. I actually think the first preview might be in the actual story at this point. I've gotten a few characters' roles figured out already. Yours isn't done yet.

Good work.

I see Twilight City as the venue for Red Dynamo. Will it be the place of events for the entire storyline or just a few episodes? (since it is the hometown of Renegade)

I'm going to spread out the character's locations to surrounding areas, but a few of the main events will take place in Twilight City.

this is just like that british comedy - NO HEROICS - i love the idea of a bar where supertypes go to hang out and chil

I also thought you could use some more civilians:

Thats was a quality little teaser!

You've got one hell of a job fitting all these characters together, Im looking forward to seeing how you do it.

I had given some thought to RD's back story but never got round to putting anything definate down. It would seem you have an idea about it anyway so Im very intrigued!

Thank you very much. I'm trying to figure out the individuals before fitting them together. I've got a lot of my character's relationships with the others figured out for the most part. If you have any ideas on your character's origins I'd abandon the story I'm working on since he's your creation.

Im happy to leave it open for you to develop as you see fit.

I'll admit, grudgingly, that your creative powers are much greater than mine so you'll undoubtedly do a better job of it!

I was thinking of doing a backstory tomorrow if you haven't written one for me yet. I've had an idea flowing, but not the chance to write it out yet.

I forgot that I hadn't written this yet. I've been busy with BR and such and actual work at the office (imagine that  ) so hopefully things will die down tomorrow and I can work on it.

And Ferret, it will begin soon.

K. Shockwave clap = I clap my hands which makes a shockwave.
Some dark = I control tidbits of dark like dark shields, and a dark tornado.

On the subject of appearance, I think I prefered my original design of Eidolon, if that's ok.
