Stuart Gordon's cult classic The Re-Animator is finally up on the remake chopping block with rumors circulating wildly over the last several months.

The horror fiends over at Shock 'Till You Drop had the chance to catch up with producer Ray Haboush to clear the air about just where the film is in the pipeline and who might be attached.

"This current rumor about Elisha Cuthbert appearing in the remake of Re-Animator is just that – a rumor… Actually the whole idea that we are remaking the movie this summer, in Spain nonetheless, is completely off base… especially as no talent – writer, director, nor actor – has been attached to this project in any capacity whatsoever…

We have been discussing amongst ourselves the idea of remaking Re-Animator, in 3-D, however, at the moment, it is still only a concept."

Still only a concept- and a lousy one at that.

Hmmm.

I'm normally against this sort of thing but I'm willing to give it a chance. The original will remain a classic no matter what.

The only way this would be forgivable is if they stick to the original text...a faithful version might be worth watching.

If they just re-hash the Gordon version...fuck that.

So they decided to make a TV series instead did they? It looks pretty awful too like some Buffy kinda deal.

Say, V, what do you mean by 3D? Like, talking animals and super special disney deep-space adventures? Or just the screen popping out when a zombie or a green syringe does? Both would sadden me, it's my favorite Lovecraft piece.
