Where do I see it?

I also need info on my proxy server. Is that the same as my IP adress?

tools -> internet options -> connections

assuming you have a LAN connection then click LAN settings (otherwise highlight the dial-up connection and click settings)

you will be presented with a proxy settings box containing proxy ip address and port no.

That's right. 80 is what it says.

But when i type my IP adress together with that port number it wont connect to the internet.

Could my router cause the problem perhaps??

why are you typing your ip address?

if you are using a proxy server, you should enter the ip address of the proxy server and the port

I obviously don't know what a proxy server is. I may not even have one.

Thought it was something all computers had.

you only need a proxy server when internet access is restricted

or blocked

if your router is acting as your gateway, then no proxy is needed.
