Simple question. What's your favorite flick from 1995-2009 and why?

I guess mine is Inside. That one just blew me away. Great gore, great scares. I did not expect much from the movie, and thought this to be another mindless flick. And yes, I suppose it actually was. There wasn't much to the plot, and as I weren't able to get this one with Danish subtitles, I had to go with Swedish.. Luckily there was not much conversation, but I never understood if the villain was actually the nurse, and if there was any good reason behind her actions. Anyway, this movie was just extreme in all positive ways. The gore was a bit over the top for my girlfriend, but I utterly enjoyed it. The scene on the stairs at the end of the movie had her hiding her head behind the pillow. Who needs a bulletproof plot, when the movie works.

So to all of you who have not already seen this one. Go do so! :)

NOW, tell me what your favorite movie is, and why.

It's not horror but the Lord of the Rings trilogy absolutely blew me away. Epic in every way.

I guess Freddy vs. Jason, but that's more because of the hype for the film. Who would've ever though we would've seen two of the most popular slashers actually square off in a movie? The movie wasn't bad either. The atmosphere opening night in the theater was unreal too. Freddy and Jason fans just screaming, shouting, and getting all into it. I won't forget it.

House Of 1000 Corpses

I just love how it looks (E.C comics meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Motel Hell) and the characters are great and well acted.
I dig how its a homage to the 70s horror flicks rather than a remake.
Rob Zombie has his haters but fuck 'em. Its one of the best genre flicks in the last 10 years.

There was quite a lull in horror round 1993 - 94ish. Everything was more thriller related after the success of Silence Of The Lambs. Then we had the big influx of Scream-teen stuff after 1994. A few stunners came out like Wes Craven's New Nightmare but it wasn't till the later 90s that straight up horror was a lot more prominant.
