All week I've been losing sleep because of my financial situation and the fear of the expenses related to gassing the car. I pray. This morning a Mercury Mountaineer from God smashes the car. It might be reparable, but damn. I feel so fucked, so sad, so desparate. I don't open up like this very often, but this is kind of a Peter Finch moment for me. I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

Yeah, my girlfriend's insured. The other person only got their tire ripped open, where as we lost the left side of the front headlight and after that, the car didn't start.

Jesus CHRIST, Doc! That sucks!! *HUG*

Your girlfriend's insurance is going to go after the ass, right?

I just want to get the money to leave Chicago and move up to Portland where people walk all the time.

They technically found her at fault, but it wasn't really anyone's. Just took a sharp turn and missed one of those Megalodon SUVs pulling out really fast.

SUCK!!! :(

I'm sorry, Doc.

I just want to get the money to leave Chicago and move up to Portland where people walk all the time.

I'm going to ask a stupid question... Portland, Oregon, not Portland, Maine, right? (the New Englander in me shows through)

Doc Faustus

Oregon. Never was crazy about Maine. My mother once took me to the seashore trolley museum as a punishment.

LOL

I spent my four college years in Waterville, ME, so, quite frankly, I've never seen the DRAW to Maine. It really IS like a torture.

Portland, Oregon I've only heard good things about... And the literary geek in me wants to go and make its summer Shakespeare festival. hee.

Pubs every ten feet too. Cupcake shops, a bookstore the size of a museum. I was floored by the city. There was so much positivity and eccentricity. It's one of those places where it feels like it was built to make people happy. Like Salem, Mass when the tourists aren't around.

NOTE: Chrono is a little tipsy. I read that as:

Pubes ever ten feet too.

and then had to check the thread I was in...

...

But seriously, though... I'd love to visit Oregon.

Question: Does it get snow in winter? Because I'm reaching my breaking point in boston.

There are lots of strip clubs. I hear not much snow. I remember North Shore snow.

Strip clubs and little snow.

And a literary, art, and culture scene.

Both the intellectual and the base perv in me is intrigued.

TAKE ME WITH YOU :p

The Shakespeare festival is in Ashland- a couple hundred miles south, on the California border.

What Urge said. The insurance claim will cover for the car, but at least nobody on either side got hurt. Sad news though, Doc.

I very much hope you don't have to put up with too much crap as far as insurance and getting it repaired, etc.

The city was paralyzed by snow for three weeks this winter. Worst snowfall EVER. In recorded history. Nothing like what the midwest & East coast get though. Usually it may snow a handfull of times in a year. This year has been crazy. We had a dusting YESTERDAY.

Ahhh - OK. I always associated the festival with Portland.

Have you been to the festival, NE?

Well, I suppose I can deal with 3 weeks out of 52. So much better than our 12+

I don't think Oregonians have to trick-or-treat in the snow or celebrate Mother's Day in the snow.

Oddly enough, for someone who was heavily involved in theatre for over 30 years, I've never been.

Oh fuck..can I relate to this .

3 years ago , I reversed out of this shop car park and hit this dumb bitch who was illegally parked at the bus stop behind me.
On 1st glance, she wasn't there when I started to move..
anyways...i didnt do much damage..i actually just knocked off her indicator light...her fucken insurance charged me 1000$s for the replacement.
Of course I told them to go and get fucked, after reading her impact report.
I havent paid it to this day and em not going to.

1000$s for a 2.50 indicator light. puhlease.

Sorry to hear about the accident, Doc.

Be sure to keep on top of the insurance company, Ive known people wait a bastard of a long time for anything to be sorted out if you let them work at their own pace.

Hope it all works out

Portland is a pretty cool town. I like Seattle better, but to each his own. I hope you both move out here. The Pacific Northwest is an awesome place to live.
