This is a redo of a fun thread started by Yellow Jacket quite some time ago. It didn't end up getting many replies, so I figured I'd try and give it another go.

The idea is this:
If you had your own theatre with 5 screens, what films would you play? They can be from any period, any genre, any anything. Just 5 films you would play in your theatre, films you'd love to see on the big screen.

Fortunato Theatre

Screen 1: Stalker (1979)

Screen 2: The Silence (1963)

Screen 3: I Drink Your Blood (1970)

Screen 4: The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928)

Screen 5: Apocalypse Now (1979)

Isn't this the same as asking whats your favorite movies?

I didn't view it that way although it's close to what I picked. Matrix probably isn't quite in my top 5, but I'd like to have it on hand to watch on the big screen whenever I choose.

No, no.
This is asking what movies you would love to see on the big screen, and what you'd love to have others see on the big screen as well.

1. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
2. Gladiator
3. Alien
4. House of Flying Daggers
5. A Bridge Too Far

I never saw these films on the big screen but believe they have the cinematography and scope to do justice to a large screen. Most films dont.

I can't imagine how that would look in a theater. I hope at some point to see some of those sci fi classics on a big screen. The Blob and Invaders from Mars come in close sixth and seventh.

These are the films that I grew up watching, all the great 50s sci fi, creature features and hammer horrors. You might need a theatre with twenty screens!

Screen 1. Taxi Driver
Screen 2. Beyond the valley of the dolls
Screen 3. A Clockwork Orange
Screen 4. The Boys
Screen 5. Dead Man.

And in the Horror Cinema

Screen 1. Last HOuse on Dead end Street
Screen 2. Friday the 13th pt 4, the Final Chapter
Screen 3. Night of the Living Dead
Screen 4. Frankenstein
Screen 5. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Those lists are what I came up with after presureing myself to think for 5 minutes.. there are probably some movies I might swap given more time.

Ah, I had the chance to see this at a theatre in Chicago, but I missed it. A bunch of my friends went and said it was a great time.

I think i'd do something like
1. The Good The Bad and The Ugly
2. Eraserhead
3. Toxic Avenger
4. The Evil Dead
5. Zombie Doom

most of which are my favorite movies, but Toxic Avenger and Zombie Doom are just ones i think would be a blast to see in the theaters.

1 - Night of the Living Dead
2 - The Wrestler
3 - Metropolis
4 - The Wizard of Oz
5 - Taken

Hopefully that would be a good start and with Taken and The Wrestler showing I should be able to draw enough of an audience to keep the little theater open.

So it all about the money for you... Is that why you have to movies from the past year or are there other reasons.............

Ah, nice idea Des. That's quite economic.

Some of it would have to be about money, you can't run a theater on 17 people watching some great cult flicks can you? The recent picks however were both moneymaking AND films I'm quite interested in, not just a couple quick blockbusters (obviously).

I think I'd have more than 17 people showing up to my screenings... though the two cinemas I go to mostly in Glasgow are quite small and never have I seen more than 30 people in one theatre , normally less than that, hell they don't hold much more than that.

I wasn't specifically talking about yours, just saying financial gain is good especially when you can make more money by adding newer movies you're interested in.
