Another update on the Horror.com upgrades. :)

Some of the main site upgrades were completed early Tuesday morning, but we ran into a few unexpected issues. So, we will be getting back to work on this later this evening. For now, you can't see comments on articles - but that's just temporary.

If you find any bugs while browsing the main site:
http://www.horror.com/php/?m=browse&id=4

Please let me know in this thread and I'll add them to the list.

This is an example of a bug on the Article pages:
http://www.horror.com/php/article-2244-1.html

On the left side of the page, under "Related Articles", there are two bullet graphics before each related article. That will be fixed soon, but I just wanted to give you an example so you know what to look for. Pages that don't work, broken links, broken graphics, or anything else like that would also qualify. Post them if you find them.

Thanks! :)

Logging out, then re-logging back in seems to be broken. It shows as logged in, and still keeps the member out...unless the member opens a new window to log back in.

Also, after a member logs out...it shows a default screen of the main page. If you log in from there, it still doesnt show you in the forum. Even after repeated attempts at logging in.

Thanks for the info.

What browser are you seeing that on? IE/Firefox/Safari?

It seems to be working for me, but maybe I have different cookies as admin or something.

IE ver 8.0.

Let me check this problem on Firefox, Opera and Chrome.

Seems ok for Firefox and Chrome. Opera has the same problem as IE. Could be browser bugs clashing with the forum front page script.

not a bug, but a question or two.

still any thoughts on renaming the Japanese Horror section to Asian (or even just Foreign)?

also, what are the chances of another section for forum games or the such.....

we normally just move everything into Site Suggestions/Questions (http://www.horror.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=21) :o

Also, the "Search" button has been broken since the last upgrade. Nothing happens if one clicks on it.

For it to work, one has to right click on it and select "Open Link".

Calendar doesnt work either.

It does?

How come I cant see past December 2006 then? Either Public or Private, thats the last date on the Calendar.

Oh whoops...I just meant that it opens...Search doesn't even open for me unless I right click and open

I've been using Google search since the forum search no longer pulls anything up before the last upgrades.

The default for search is set to the last 500 posts or threads, thats why.

If that is disabled, you can pull up anything you want to see from 2003 onwards.

Horror, I have one more small request on behalf of HDC...

We currently have a "Minimum 10-character limit" for each post/reply to a thread. It is frustating to deal with, especially when someone has a very short reply to give.

For example, if someone wants to reply "U2" to a thread in the Music section, he has to either
A) post "U2" and eight dots (.s) after that, or
B) use the [COLOR="White"] option to hide the eight dots.

Its too much hassle for a single, short post, dont you think?

Please...can that option be disabled? It would be of immense help to our members in their daily posting.

Thank you in advance.

Anything about missing pms? this is the second time i've had this problem and it seems i'm the only one with this issue. A few times noe PMs I've sent have disappeared in the process of being sent or PMs from my inbox have vanished. Any news would be cool.
