I probably would have seen this anyway, but I'm surprised it's been so well received by critics. Definitely gonna check it out.
But it's not in 3D in my area :(
From what I'm reading it's kind of a throwback to the movies from the 70s/80s.....good old fashioned scares and NOT the "torture porn" that seems to permeate most horror movies today.

No, not at all; I didn't read very far down the thread because of the spoiler warning. I haven't seen the film yet, although I plan on it, and didn't want to contribute to a thread that I wasn't going to read for fear of stumbling upon the spoilers.
