Horror Franchise GPA

This is not a game or a tournament, but it will require some group participation if it's to work effectively. I'd like to determine which horror franchise we here at HDC cumulatively think is the best, the worst and everywhere in between.

When all is said and done, we'll have cumulative grade point averages for every major horror franchise in existence (and probably a few less than major ones.)

We'll go 1 franchise at a time. Every HDC member is invited to assign grades A+ through F to each film in the franchise. Then I'll crunch all the numbers and we'll have an average grade for each franchise. Once this is finished, we'll have a comprehensive list of how all of these franchises stack up compared to each other.

If you haven't seen a film listed, please don't grade it.

I considered it but there's SO many Frankenstein & Dracula films that aren't connected to each other that I don't really consider them to be franchises (Actually there may be a few different franchises within each character), but maybe we could do a classic monster film GPA after we get through this. We could include Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, Mummy, etc...

You're right about the forgotten part, though. If BW2 had been released as a stand alone, no one would remember it. They went for quick money, and they got what they deserved. It's sad to me that some of these movies could be great hidden gems (like a later Hellraiser or Halloween III) had they not been blackballed by association.

From my personal experience (and judging from the grades rolling in, it looks like others would agree), you're not missing much.

For me, Leprechaun 3 is far and away the most entertaining of the franchise but that's not saying much when you look at it's competition.

All I've seen is a 5 minute clip that was on that Boogeymen compilation disc. I think it was the first one...he kills some dude with a pogo stick? Didn't exactly fill me with desire to watch this one.
