EDIT: Well, I don't see it, but there could have been an accident...I'm sorry, I don't have any information about this...There must be a reasonable explanation though.

That would be MAJOR bullshit. You can delete posts if you're a mod who thinks nobody can argue, (which is also bullshit, free speech be damned let's delete all the arguments!) but to delete somebody's whole fucking tourney?
I'd rather have all the spam (I know you're all trying mods but it seems impossible to get rid of it all) than over moderation like this. Don't give me some "they're trying their best" speech either, I understood that with the piracy thing but this time it's just abuse of power. Or maybe the thread's still there and I'm jumping to a conclusion.

It truly could have been a mistake...It takes a while to get used to these tools...AMK made mistakes the ENTIRE time she was a mod...tried to take out posts and deleted whole threads, MULTIPLE times...That's where our original picture thread went...It was a HUGE thread.
I don't know what happened, but please give them the benefit of the doubt and allow them to explain.

Yes, could be a mistake. But it's getting to where we all feel as if any argument or thread with a semi-questionable subject, could get it erased or someone banned. It would possibly be tolerable and easier forgiven, if it weren't so often and nonsensical as of late. I mean seriously, how many of these "Where did it go?" threads have there been in this past week?
That's my two cents. Now, back to work on my site and organizing.

Hmmm. I'm not sure about this. Could be that they listened to Posher, or that they're testing out their new found power. Or a mistake. I don't know.
Maybe if the Mod who did it just says why. As Cheebs said in Bwind's thread, it's a lack of communication that causes problems.

I've been a mod on forums before, you don't fuck with something unless you know what it does. There was no need to move it out of general or change it at all so a mistake would have only happened if the mod was screwing with something they shouldn't have. I don't dislike ANY of the mods and I think you know that. :)

Oh God, do I dare even say this. Yes, I guess I will since I started typing.
In my opinion, the mods here do a pretty good job, but they do play favorites and they do get power hungry sometimes. I very often walk on eggshells when posting, or refraining from posting, here because I worry that if I say the wrong thing to the wrong person, I will once again get threatened with being banned. I appreciate that at least they have shown me the courtesy of warning me instead of just banning me, but I don't think my behaviour has ever even warranted a warning. Other people seem to be able to say and do whatever they want, and it's acceptable or funny. Which is fine with me, I love that, I just wish I was shown THAT courtesy and be able to do the same thing. Again, just my opinion, and my experience. No I'm not whining, it's just a sore spot with me, and with good reason.

Authority should always be questioned, even when they're doing a "good job". I wouldn't lose sleep over something of mine being deleted as most of the stuff I post here is trivial BS anyway. That said, I would still ask why it was deleted, even if I didn't expect an answer.
This is forum owned by one person, that person can do whatever he/she feels and those appointed to a position of power by said entity are granted similar privileges. Just remember that there isn't a good IP banning system and no matter how many people you piss off, you can always come back and continue to annoy people.

i've made a lifetime habit of questioning authority - when i think its abused.
and when it's over something important.
for me - this just isnt the place ... i think it runs pretty hands free anyway.
i guess (and no one likes to hear it) i just dont care enough about an internet forum to the point where ....where authority is even an issue - i dont see it.
authority is my boss, upper management, our CEO, my wife...
in school it was my teachers --or any kid big enough to hurt me.
i dont get the concept of authority here .... mods are just folks people trusted to see that a few rules that are already in place are followed. for the most part its just deleting spam.
if someone 'oversteps their bounds' here - i really dont care.
it doesnt touch my health, my wallet, or anything in my reality for that matter.
its not like i even care if i get banned - obviously :)
i just conduct myself in a manner where it wouldnt happen .. but if it did ...
meh...
i'm not saying others are like that or should be .. it's just where i'm personally coming from ...

I understand how you can look at it this way, but I couldn't ever see the forum that way myself.
This place doesn't dominate my life, I don't constantly think about it, but just because something isn't got published doesn't mean it didn't have value. Whether it's a pretty deep conversation or a post you may have put a lot of time into, i.e - something in the Battle Royale, or HDC Idol, if someone came along and just said to themselves "This is pointless" and deleted it forever, it gets on my nerves.
So what if you don't make money over it, putting any time into anything shows you care enough about it for one reason or another to spend a part of the small amount of time on this world to doing it.

I know this may not be my place to say anything, being a relatively new noobie, but here goes nothing......
I have been reading this thread and the 'Talk to the Moderation' thread for some time now, and I believe that what was done was the right thing to do. Now before somebody jumps my ass for saying this, let me elaborate a bit. The said 'deleted' thread did advertise a site indulging in piracy, streaming or downloading. I have been in other forums where such threads disappear as soon as they are made, without even an ounce of explanation offered. Of course, members cry foul and make a lot of hue and cry about freedom of speech and whatnots, but deep in their hearts they know exactly what they had posted and why it was deleted. The mods here are polite enough to come forward and explain their reasons at least, whereas in other forums they don't even bother - any sort of question results in a further warning. I would say the mods here are pretty straightforward, no-nonsense, down-to-earth people who are doing their best to keep this place hassle-free. As a member it is easy to log in, post a few here and there and log off back to normal lives or other forums whatever, but for a mod it is not an easy walk in the park once they have logged into a forum they are in-charge of. Not to mention all of them must have their own busy lives from which they are investing time and money to keep a watch over this place, bound by a sense of duty and loyalty. As a member in this forum, I empathise with all of them. The fact that the owner is never around to run this place smoothly, as I have read in several older threads, makes their presence in the forum all the more valuable.
My two cents for all it's worth............
