hello,again.i'm trying to figure out the name of a movie that was pretty bloody,gory,spooky and maybe it was only scary because i was a kid when i saw it.i'm 31 and saw it in either '81 ,'82,or '83,i believe it was new when i saw it,and can't remember the name of this movie.i think i'll probably need an expert on the on the subject of obscure horror film history, to find out.i've tried the imdb.com and have had no luck,even w/google.what i remember about the movie is apparently too vague to get anything done myself.i remember some defining things about it but,that so far doesn't seem to have been enough.this is killing me.please help if ya can.thanks!!!

well, from what i think you were going to tell me about what you remember from the movie that you watched that we have no clue as to the name, i believe you're talking about a cancerous tumor. when all else fails, name an inanimate object. I apologize if i am of no help.

an old victorian style house in obvious need of repair, in i think a field.off to itself.a hairy,i think, kind of mutant,mongolidic type creature,who i think kills,who's father is alive and living there and has kept him locked up either in the basement or maybe just in the house for the majority of his life.there's a girl who's the unsuspecting innocent and i think it's her boyfriend who's the hero,if you will.it's pretty scetchy anymore but,i remember the hero finding a woman,an older woman,who was slain in her kitchen.Now i can't remember if the kitchen was in this spooky old house or not,but the good guy found her,dead on the kitchen floor,and was knocked out ,i think from behind,and fell down landing on the side of his head.the blood that had pooled in the kitchen was deep enough to come up to at least his lips from what i remember.it was a lot of blood.
the beast roamed through the house,basement and maybe the walls too.i remember shotgun blasts being fired through the side of the house in an attempt to kill the mutant fella.the name of the movie,i know not unlike many of it's grade,had a title that was pretty raw and straight forward.it was something like; "what lurks in the dark" or "what lurks in the night"or "something lurks in the night-(or dark)" something that would convey something about the night that you don't want any part of.sorry so vague.i don't really think the chances are really good that someone will be able to help me out too much w/this given the amount of info i'm able to recall but i'm desparate and won't stop until i learn the title of this movie and can find it and watch it again,and see as an adult what it was that made such an impression upon me.i've searched for and found other things that have taken me up to 4 yrs. to do so.i'm just really hoping that this doesn't take that long.sorry to be so long winded but MAN,i gots to know!thanks for the responses you all and any help at all would be greatly appreciated.greatly.maybe if anybody could think of a place where i could search every horror movie ever made between the yrs '81-'83 i'd search all that easily and for sure.it might be classified as a "monster" movie and not a "horror" movie.thanks again.

thanks to anyone who's shown any interest in giving me a helping hand.i know there's only so much that can be done about my search.if i've hit the wrong forum,i don't really feel a need to apologize.if i were a computer expert i probably would've been able to find this out on my own.that's pretty wild.for the first time i've been called a BITCH for absolutely no real reason at all in a chat line.guess there's a first time for everything.would just like to extend a very sarcastic "thank you" at the very least to the person who decided to make my beginning impression of this site as wonderful as he or she could concieve.yeah.i definitely know how to say more.oh,yeah,i do.it's a wonder i wasn't kicked out of kindergarten for my mouth.BUT,nah.thought you weren't supposed to talk to other people on a cha line or whatever, with such galloping undeserved disrespect.screw this place.this is ignorant and i'm outta this joke.no offense intendeed to anyone who's a real horror movie fan or buff or whatever.guess that's it.i'd LOVE to say more but i'm trying my best to be mature about the whole thing.guess i gotta short fuse with half- heads.there i go!adios!
