View Full Version : 10 Worst bands/groups of all time

SFF

OK, everyone is doing the "best of" lists. So, I feel like doing a "worst of" list.

Worst bands or groups ever to sign a recording contract IMO:

1. Cannibal Corpse (The name of this group alone is reason enough to make the list. Their awful music confirms their eligibility)

2. Motorhead (As a rule, anybody who writes lyrics such as "Shetland pony, extra pepperoni, come on and bite my bone" should be euthanized)

3. NSYNC (Need I say more?)

4. Backstreet Boys (Same as above)

5. ICP (White horrorcore rappers who wear clown make-up and were declared "Worst group EVER" by Blender magazine. Once again, need I say more?)

6. Good Charlotte (From where did these freaks come?)

7. Smashmouth (I wish somebody would have smashed them in the mouth and then lynched them so they never would have had the chance to press an album)

8. Poison (OK, Brett Michaels was great eye candy, but he couldn't sing to save his life. The Flesh and Blood album was ok, but all the rest were dog shit)

9. Mr. Big (Anybody else remember these losers?)

10. Boys II Men (God, they were corny!)

Okay, I'll do this but no one should complain about my choices, as they are my opinions.

1) Kelly Osbourne - Cannot sing worth a shit

2) Macy Gray - What the fuck was stuck in her throat while she was TRYING to sing?

3) Dave Matthews Band - I really think the vocalist cannot sing.

4) Michael Jackson - Don't kill me for this choice.

5) Cher - I know I'm going to be murdered for this one, but sounds like she sings out of her nose.

6) Hanson - No explanation needed.

7) Clay Aiken - Should be singing broadway or something.

8) Zwan - Why the fuck was this band ever even put together?

9) Rod Stewart - I may get killed for this one too, but damn what a fucking screechy ass voice.

10) All Boy Bands (Nsync, Backstreet Boys, 98 degrees, etc.) - No explanation needed.

a question to the people who have ICP on their lists; what songs have you heard by them?

Oh, Blender is a music magazine which I subscribe to. They seem to be very knowledgable in their opinions, but in the end, I make my own decisions, and I think ICP sucks ass. Many people agree with me, some don't. I saw a few artist mentioned on some other person's list which I like but I DID NOT start whining about it. The whole point is that its an opinion based list. Oh, and another thing, seems like everyone has a problem understanding what WORST GROUP/BAND means. It DOES NOT mean solo acts or individual artists, which EVERYONE on here failed to understand. Geesh

Why don't you stop trying to knit pick over those stupid clown men. EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion.

I don't expect everyone to be perfect, just know how to read basic english. I'm not trying to be an ass, but I just don't see how Worst BAND/GROUP could be misinterprited.

Some people are tired and halfway asleep when they come to the forum, sometimes they're drunk or fucked up, so yeah...you often misread things or overlook certain things.

I'm just asking a question. It's a simple question, either answer it or don't but don't go starting shit again. You don't know because I don't care if people think like me.

First of all, its an ignorant question because why else would somebody put a group on their list unless they had heard them and hated them? As I recal, you were quick to jump somebody in the "7 best lyricist" thread over a insignificant matter.

Sam The Egg

it's not an ignorant question. I'm not disputing your opinion, I'm just asking what songs you'd heard. I fail to see the problem with it.

Actually, some people probably will add someone like Good Charlotte to their list because they've only heard one song by them, most likely being "Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous" or even haven't heard of them at all, but just want to "go along with the crowd". I've seen it done before on other forums.

Your the one trying to start something, not me, dude. I know why you asked that. I know you're all hung up on those idiots and that is why you said it. Look, there were a few on somebody elses list that I like, but I didn't start asking stupid questions like "Have you even listened to them?" That is a manipulation tactic. I don't play that.

I heard enough, lets just leave it at that. I'm not fond of their music style or their image.

the question was: What songs had you heard from them? I didn't dispute that you'd heard them, I was curious as to what the songs were. It seems as though you're the only person who has a problem with the question. Stop assuming that I'm starting an argument for asking a simple question. Watch this:

Hey, William, what songs have you heard by Rod Stewart?

Yeah, but that is not the point of the thread. It is simply for your idea of what the 10 worst Band or groups are. This is not a debating thread. Oh, and Rod Stewart isnt a band or group, he is a solo act. And I only like one song by him, the rest suck. But that is not the point of the topic, once again.

I don't remember all of the names, but I remember listening to "Blind Prayer", "It's all Over Now", "Sailing Away (i think that's what it's called)", "Still Love You", "Tonight's the Night"...and a few others. My mother and aunt loves him, so they play his music non-stop. I've heard enough to know that he's not that great of a singer, in my opinion at least.

Sam The Egg

who's debating? I just wanted to know what songs you'd heard by a particular group. You're the one who turned it into a debate. If you'd just said "Oh, I heard *insert song title here* and *insert another song title her*", I'd have said "Oh, okay" if that much.

And okay, if solo artists don't count:
Huey Lewis and the News
NSync
Sha Na Na
Gwar
the group that did that song Brackish (or was Brackish their name?)
New Kids On The Block
(HED) P.E.
Genesis (Although Peter Gabriel's solo stuff is great)
American Hi-Fi
Hanson

Yeah, his voice can be a bit grating...to say the least. By the way, did Zwan do anything outside the Spun soundtrack? Cause that's the first I'd heard of them and I can't find anything they did outside of that.

I'm pretty sure they released their own CD, I could be wrong though. I didn't know they did anything on the Spun soundtrack though.

Edit: I looked it up and yeah, they did. The CD is called: "Mary Star of the Sea".

They did the cover of Number of the Beast that played over the opening credits (this is assuming that you've seen the movie). They collaberated some with Billy Corgan on it, too. The Spun soundtrack stuff may be a lot better than their regular stuff, though, I haven't heard it. I like the Spun stuff, though.

I haven't heard that. I've heard "Honestly" by them, which really is a bad song in my opinion, as well as "Come With Me" and "Endless Summer". I do like the Smashing Pumpkins though, I just think Zwan was a bad idea.

Well, in the case of Good Charlotte, one song is all it takes for me to hate them. Its not like I'm going to go out and get in line with a bunch of teenage girls, and waste 20 bucks on their shitty album just so I can hear more of what I don't like.

I'll have to check out the Spun stuff then. Well, my step-brother loves ICP, that's all he plays, so I get to hear them often. Although they aren't one of my favorite things to listen to, ICP isn't that bad of a group.

Oh and SFF, you said you disagreed with some of the other people's choices, what do you disagree with? I'd like to know. Just curious.

You'll never hear me say ICP is a great group, cause I really don't think they are. Most of their earlier stuff I can't stand. But the overall arc they did with their albums I think was done really well. They ended up with a nice narritive thing that I liked. Plus, some of their later stuff was good IMO.

Have you seen the movie Spun? If not, you should, it's really good.

It doesn't matter what I disagreed with. The point is for everyone to list what they feel are the 10 worst bands or groups of all time. If somebody lists something I do like, I don't care because that is their opinion and I respect it. There is no reason for me to question someone about why they don't like a particular group. It's none of my business, I'm sure they have their reasons, just as I have mine for not liking any of the ones on my list.

nobody questioned WHY. I just wanted to know what you'd heard of a particular group.

Spun is about a meth addict who gets a job as a driver for a guy who makes it ("The Cook"). It's kinda weird, like a comical version of Requiem for a Dream.

Spun has Mickey Rourke (his best work IMO), Jason Schwartzman, Mena Suvari, Britany Murphy, Patrick Fuqit (sp?) and John Leguazamo. So if you like/dislike any of those people then you'll have more to go on.

Mena Suvari was in the first two American Pie movies, and was the girl in American Beauty who wanted to have sex with Kevin Spacey. Jason Schwartzman was the kid in Rushmore.

Well, I wasn't making a big deal, I was just trying to make a 10 worst bands or groups of all time thread. That's it. I'm not going to say what I disagreed with because then it would become a "Why I like this group/band" thread, and that is getting off-topic.

True. But the discussion should be along the lines of how much they hate the artists they mentioned, or why they hate them. Not why they like one that was on somebody elses hate list. This thread is about HATE, not LIKE. Get it?

As for it going off topic by talking about why, that's what makes it interesting and fun. How boring would it be if..."Post your top 10 bands/groups" and everyone just posted their top 10 and that's it. No discussion. This is a DISCUSSION board.

EDIT: SFF, what you said is true...but all I wanted to know is who. Is it really that difficult?

I meant willingly offer the reasons why you dislike a group, which I did, not because somebody who likes them is pissed because you put them on your list and wants to argue over it. In my original post, I gave my reasons for putting them on the list, so there was no explination needed. You felt compelled to say "What does Blender have to do with anything?" That was argumenative.

And now, back to the topic. Everyone, please list your 10 worst bands or groups. Thank you.
