Wack is not an adjective.
Prolly is not a word.
Wut is not a word
ur is not a word.
u is not a word.
If you cant take less that one second out of your meaningless little life and put two more letters into a word, then you can't be a part of this forum. Just get the fuck out now.

You know how I first saw it?
. . . a foot away from a big screen t.v., alone, late at night.
It was great. I hadn't been scared in a long time. The scenes of the screaming girl just running the woods got a bit tiresome, but from when the girl busted in the back of the gas station on was just the living end. I could've busted for a different ending, though. I didn't like that she survived. I wanted Leatherface to cut her up so badly. And the girl on the meat hook. That would've been a classic gore scene had they had Leatherface slice open the girl while she was writhing on the meath1ook. Not cut up her stupid boyfriend. He's already dead!
Yeah. I cussed alot while watching it, though. Mostly alot of, "Run, bitch, run!" and "Stop screaming you fuckin' 'tard!"
Stupid girls are so easy to kill!

You people just dont understand.
If you had a maniac with a skin mask and a chainsaw chassing after you after he killer your brother would you just be running calmy and quitley, no you would be screaming your head off.
Leatherface was probaly saving Pam for later after he put her on a meathook and her boyfriend he was using for dinner or his 'art'.
Cereal Killer
04-17-2004, 11:33 AM
And you have been chased with a chainsaw after your sibling and friends were murdered?
I think I'd scream my head off for about the first ten minutes, but there were some scenes that she was just running and screaming for no reason. When she crashes out of the bedroom for instance. If I had done that, I wouldn't have immediately started screaming again. I would've been running for my life and not screamed. She knew that there wasn't alot of houses around, and if the killer just lost her for those five minutes, there was a chance he wouldn't have been able to relocate her again without her starting to scream. And another thing--why did the guy in the eighteen-wheeler get into the cab and then have the girl go out the other side? I don't get it. Why not just start up the big rig? The chainsaw wasn't going through the door. But it was all for a purpose and people get flustered with they're scared, but really.

The original TCM is one of, if not THE, best horror films of all time. If you think you are a horror fan, but thought this was 'suckass' then maybe you need to re-evaluate what genre of film you actually like. If you do this, and you still think it's horror, then I want you to list a few horror films that you thought were better than this. (And if you say Ghost Ship or Cabin Fever, I might reach through the computer and smack the shit out of ya.) ;)

Which for any true horror fan would have enjoyed the suttle resemblence to such films as The TCM, Last house on the left, and The Thing. As for the TCM (r) it was a good movie but it didnt do any justice to the original all it did was milk the name and its legacy.

The original TCM was simply a hick with down syndrome chasing after really bad actors with a chainsaw. It was better than the sequels yet to come, but the remake made a better image of leatherface and made the TCM story itself a lot better. The original TCM was really cheap unentertaining and had a horrible cast. Especially the guy in the wheelchair.

With both TCM, each has both it's ups-and-downs. The original was directed by Tobe Hooper, a genius of his time. The house was much scarier with the addition of the furniture made out of human bones. However, the editing was terrible. Also the movie just stops. She is in the back of the truck, and the film simply cuts to the credits. The family was much more enjoyable in this one, and it made sense for the sequel. In the new version, the film quality itself was much better obviously up to date film equipment. However, there was no furniture of bones. The family was simply created with no recognition of the brother in the opening. The action and the characters were much more enjoyable, with the absence of the boy in the wheel-chair. The biggest problem with the new version was the fact that they had Leatherface takes off his mask revealing a deformed face.
In the end, both are good and bad. I personally enjoyed the new version much more, but still appreciate the original for what it was for the time it was made.

TCM is one of the subgenre's of Horror..Slasher Films.
One doesn't have to like this type of film to be a fan of Horror.
Honestly its just not one of my favorite Horror movies since i perfer subtly tension building and suspence in my horror or Outright Fantastical horror.
I would agree that TCM is one of the most significant Slasher films of all time Up there with Friday the 13th and Halloween and would never deny its historical significance.
But if you don't like slasher films it certainly doesn't mean your not a fan of the horror genre.

Sally and, even moreso in my opinion, Franklin were memorable characters. After the first time I saw this movie, I was on my way back home and I saw a man in a wheelchair on the side of the road, and I thought to myself "Hey! It's Franklin!" And to this day, that character is still one of the reasons we love to watch TCM. I think the remake was lacking because they didn't have a character quite like him.
Obviously this is my favorite horror film. I think one thing that makes this film great is how low budget and bad the editing is. Also, the unknown actors make the whole thing believable. I couldn't care less if Mary Camden was slaughtered by Leatherface, but Sally was a different story entirely.
Movies like this are my favorite to watch - 70's low budget thrillers like TCM, The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left, Halloween... They're classics.

Heres a textbook definition for ya Chainsaw guy since you seem to think I'm so off base.
Slasher film
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
The slasher film is a sub-genre of the horror film, also referred to as a splatter film. Typically, a masked, psychotic person stalks and graphically kills teenagers who are away from adult supervision.
The origin of the form can be seen in a sequence in Mario Bava's Reazione a catena (1971, known by a dozen titles in English, including Carnage and Twitch of the Death Nerve) and Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974). However, the two prototypical examples of the genre were John Carpenter's Halloween (1978) and Sean Cunningham's Friday the 13th (1980), both of which spawned numerous sequels and even more imitators. Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) also generated an enduring series. The simple plots, minimal special effects and potent combination of sex and violence made it an easy choice for low-budget filmmaking in the 1980s.
Carol J. Clover, in her book Men, Women and Chain Saws: Gender in the Modern Horror Film, identified what she called the Final Girl trope, the heroic young woman who ultimately survives and defeats the Killer (at least until the sequel). The Final Girl almost invariably has an androgynous name (e.g. Teddy, Billie, Georgie, Sydney) and does not partake of the sex and drugs the other teenagers do. Often, she has shared history with the Killer.
The slasher genre resurfaced into the mainstream in the 1990s, being extensively parodied in Wes Craven's Scream trilogy and Keenen Ivory Wayans' Scary Movie series, but with also many "straight" imitators.

Im trying to convince my dad to let me see this movie (Blockbuster here is REALLY, REALLY strict on ratings, Plus I dont have any 18-or-up friends.....No chance I can get my hands on this without convincing him...) Anyway, he isnt much of a fan of horror movies, he wont let me see it cause "Theres no point in watching a movie with no plot, only a bunch of people getting killed".....Obviously, he doesnt like horror.
So what Im asking, does this movie have a storyline? He wont believe me, but He might believe a forum full of fans.
Also, do you think it deserves it "R" rating? Many movies from this time period dont...In some ways, I hope it does, it would be a better movie.....But in other ways, I hope it doesnt, cause then I could see it
I just dont feel like a real horror fan without seeing this movie.
