I grew up watching this show. Looney Tunes is a Warner Bros. animated cartoon series which ran in many movie theatres from 1930 to 1969. The show is now sometimes on cartoon network. I caught a little marathon on yesterday, it was a total blast from the past. I went and bought the Looney Toons Golden Collection volume 1 for 50 bucks and it was totally worth it. My favorite looney toons were Bugs Bunny and Wile Cayote simply because i hated that damn road runner . Some of my favorite episodes are Baseball bugs, Boobs in the woods, Porky Chops, and of course Fast and Furry-ous.

Anyone else remember this show and the goofy little characters?

Well, yah- since, as you say, WB cartoons have been around since the 1930s, I remember them.

Unlike Disney, they took the route of making their cartoons interesting to adults as well as children. Bugs, Daffy, Porky, Foghorn Leghorn, Sylvester and a host of other characters were far more realized as characters than Mickey, Donald, Goofy and the gang ever were.

WB also turned out some of the raciest cartoons of the era- and at times some of the most racist. You don't see those around any more.

Yea also they edited out alot of the guns and explosives because people are to sensitive now. Also alot of the shorts from WWII arent even sold anywhere or on tv at all because of the racial stereotypes such as african americans, jews, germans, japanese, and chinese.

I love the Golden Collections and have 2 but plan to get more. The second one has What's Opera Doc on it I think and it's one of the best animated shorts ever. Even though you might not love Disney getting their Disney Treasure collections can be worthwhile. I have On The Frontlines which actually includes Der Fuehrer's Face and I have to tell, the collection as a whole is stellar.

I don't mean to come off as a Disney hater. What they did, they did brilliantly. WB just went in a different direction.

You didn't really, I just thought I'd mention that they had their share of "bad" cartoons as well. In these Treasure collections you have to go to a separate part of the dvd to see them and what's his name introduces them with a big spiel about things like mocking your enemy or political correctness not being part of the culture at the time... he's pretty much apologizing for what you're about to watch but I suppose it could open discussions with kids. Anyway, I stand by What's Opera Doc as one of the best cartoons ever. KILL DA WABBIT!
