Had to think hard about this one. Usually stick with my about 80% of my new years reso's and I always try to do the really important ones first of course haha. But here goes. This is probably about a 1/4 of my list. I have decided to come up with a few big ones and lotsa small ones.

* Find a new hobby.
* Pay off all my little debts ( which is a few but they arn't too much so should be doable)
* Find a job ( this is definitely one of the harder ones ha)
* Buy a laptop by September when I start my uni course
* Drink more juice
* Lose a lil weight and tone up.
* Check out some volunteer work.
* Get over my fear of having a photo taken.

Do you guys usually stick with your reso's? I try and make mine a little harder each year ha just to challenge myself.

Stay focused on school work. I'm at an important stage and I'm starting to slack.

I don't really do the whole New Year's Resolutions thing, but I have a few in mind this year:

- Continue getting into better shape

- Get my drivers license ASAP

- Have all my university/college applications filled out and sent in ASAP

- Finish one of the scripts I've been working on, and get something on film.

I'm sure there should be more...but thats it for now.

*No soda/softdrink/artificially sweetened carbonated beverages AT ALL - This one's actually pretty scary, but I'm going to see it through.
*Actually JOIN a gym.
*Fastfood/home delivery junk, down to once a week.
*No smoking of anything, whatsoever.
*Complete my first animal studies course.
*Pay off a few remaining debts.
*Buy a current-gen console...I still don't have one...
*Start riding my (excellent) bike at least a couple times a week.
*Start a savings account.
*Eat more fresh fish.

That's me done, all quite manageable.

New Years Resolutions are for women who needs books to tell them how they feel.

Write that down.

I resolve to blog more often, even if it's just a "how things are going" post, or a work in progress art thing.

Seriously work on making my small business, with hopes of things getting off the ground before the art shows, and folk art festivals/markets this summer.

To go to the doctor when I am sick instead of letting my OCD keep me from getting better. I did go to the doctor today to follow up on those itchy spots. Turns out I may have Chron's Disease. So I am waiting for blood work to come back. If it is Chron's I go on meds, if it isn't I get to go to a dermatologist and figure out my allergy.

Lastly I reslove to not get so stressed over things. I will not live though the year if I can't learn to chill out.

I am going to get my weight down and get into shape. I'm tired of feeling like my heart is going to explode after a full minute of playing with my daughter. (I'm tracking my progess on my blog (http://popcultureobservations.today.com/))

I dont resolve to write more, i am writing a ton these days, so I'll just keep up with that.

I think cutting back on my yelling at inanimate objects would be a good idea too.

My major resolution is the cliched weight loss resolution...

I resolve to lose weight. LOTS of weight. Get back down to where I was a couple of years ago. My tactics:

Go to the gym at least three times a week
Eat better. Less carbohydrates. More veggies and protein.
Speak to my doctor about possibly going off Cymbalta, or cutting down to a lesser dosage. It slows down the metabolism (and weight gain seriously began when I started taking it).
Supplement diet with vitamins and natural mood stabilizers.

My secondary resolution is more abstract, but just as cliched...

I resolve to get my head straight and figure out what I want from my relationship; do I actually want him to ask me to marry him? Or do I want to skip this country and pursue the one whom I let go four years ago? Or maybe I don't want either of them and I just want to be alone? And once I figure out what I want... What next?

haha I'm with you there. Actually, I would like to cut back on yelling all together. I'm very short tempered. It sucks.

Quitting smoking- Going very well so far. Actually, I didn't even want to quit smoking for a resolution it just sort of happened. I'm broke so I cut down majorly last week went from like a pack a day to only 1 or 2 smokes so I figured might as well quit while I'm at it. Doing it cold turkey though. I'm getting cravings like crazy but the more I think about it the less satisfying I think the one cigarette would be. It would probably make me feel like shit.

but right now a smoke seems like gold.

1. drink less coffee
2. catch up with long-distance friends around the world more often
3. quit "social smoking" (yeah....right...)
4. read more books (any recommendations??)

Just to let you know that giving up soda and all that is hard at first but after the first week or two you will completely not even think about it anymore. That is what happened to me. I dropped out soda, iced tea, and all that and drink water with EVERYTHING now. It helps out a lot. It also helps to not eat late at night and try to eat things that are not fried. I go to the gym 3 times a week now and ride a stationary bike while I am there and it has been helping.

Cool to hear it's working out then.
I basically made the decision after having a discussion with a doc about what the best kind of things to do aside from dietary are, he pointed out the obvious, more excersize, asked if I drank beer (that's a definate "bad" but I drink it maybe once every few weeks m'self) then soda/softdrink.
Said that's just about the worst thing, high sugar concentration, your body draws on sugar reserves instead of fat (in a basic way of putting it) which it should be = more soda, massive sugar excess, no fat shedding.
Excersize I've still got to work into a solid routine too though.

I lost 47 pounds the last three months so it does indeed work but it is hard to get going at first. I recommend getting a teammate or someone to excersize with. It makes it a lot easier when you don't feel like going and doing it and the other person basically gets your motivated to do so. I have my brother Bob who basically knocks my door down to get my ass to the gym the days we need to go when I don't feel like getting up.

Proof for what reasoning?

I weighed 420 and am now down to 373. I am still a big dude but it helps being 6'4 and being proportioned. I still need to lose a lot of weight but I am trying my hardest even though having Sciatica doesn't help at all.

Jon, I have sciatica problems too, from injuring it while in the USAF. I've found through the years (I've been dealing with it for over 20) that yoga and stretching really help. Taking off the weight will help, too. I've noticed since I've gained so much weight that my sciatic has been acting up. You also need to pay attention to the weight of things you lift. Don't go going He-Man thinking you can lift all this weight - you can't now. Heat helps, too. If you don't have a heating pad or hot water bottle, invest in one. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or email me - you have my email still?

Perhaps I'm a party-pooper of sorts...but my new year's resolution is to stop making new year's resolutions because like many I either don't complete it, slowly decrease the amount of time doing it, or forget about it all together. I was watching some spoof on CBS's Up to the Minute news around 3:45 am or so and some guy said his New Year's resolution was to give out New Year's Resolutions to other people. Wow. What do you guys think of that. That makes me think if you guys had the power to literrally do that what would a list of HDC Resolutions be like for everyone on here. Maybe someone-like a mod or some-one with HDC seniority could make a master list giving out hdc resolutions....just a thought for shits and giggles...lol :D

Well, considering I was kicked out of the university I was attending cuz my gpa fell below their standards, my resolution is to get my ass back in gear and get focused on school again.. so I'm starting small, I'm going back to my community college at home and gonna get that nit-picky bullshit classes out of the way so I can get to what I really wanna do....

Got 1 and 2 in motion already. I got my w2 today! MONEY MONEY MONEY! I love the child tax credit:D
And I've been logging everything I eat all year so far, and it helps me to not over do it.
Number 3 will be doable when I move in a few weeks and have more access to the outside world.
