Anyone got any cool stories from visiting those "Haunted Houses" that are set up for Halloween? I was always jealous of those and they look so cool when I check them out online as we don't have them here. Was wondering if they were as creepy as they look?

hey...yea i have been to quite a few! many infact. some damn good ones and some plain out sucky ones. the big one around here is the haunted hoochie. thaey have a website. its pretty hardcore...that one is in the woods going from scene to scene, and u can cuss back and forth w/ the monsters there, as the saw each other up as strob lights go off. getting chased w/ chainsaws is always a plus. i just like the atmosphere chilly october and going threw one. damn, i wish i was going to one now. haha. laters.

Have you ever heard of the Nightmare Haunted houses? They're rated the best and I love em'. I never get scared too much anymore. Heh, in these though you have to agree not to hit the monsters even if they touch you. ^-^;. The effects or done wonderfully...Though one "monster" followed me out and offered me a job o.O...

That's cool stuff to hear, thanks to everyone who added something although I'm jealous big time! Gonna have to check some more out on the net again and live vicariously through others. :(

i live in san diego so theres a lot of crap here

ive only been to a couple though.

well the one i havent been to is the haunted hotel. its downtown which is one of the reasons i didnt go. crowded as hell down there AND u hafto sit there. im not sure what the set up is though, im assuming its just a regular hotel that they clear out for halloween every year and turn each room into something nasty. or maybe its just some floor

the first one i went to was called 'haunted trail' one of those outdoor ones. i mean its kinda cool that they chase u and stuff. but its lame as hell cuz its outside so you go through the set, walk this path to another set. so you see all the street lights and you see the backs of all the sets. also u see allt he people that are gonna try and scare you. well a lot of good that does i can see u from here mother fucker

the one i went to this halloween was pretty good. it was outside too, but a different set up. like it was a big ass building set up. so none of this walking around outside and seeing the backs of sets. they had all sorts of rooms, with nasty stuff. the one that really scared me was this kitchen scene with a head in the microwave, and a bathroom scene next to it and somethin in the shower. it was pretty cool though, i was surprised at how well it turned out. near the end they had some glow paint and black lights. and there were times where u couldnt see shit. also a mirror thing, and surprisingly i dint shit my pants ( i have a thing with mirrors)

i MAY try out the hotel, but being downtown with all those weirdos and standing outside in a line for 50 minutes or more isnt very appealing at all

The best 'Haunted House' was here in Edmonton. You go through a tour of an old building and they tell you this lame ass story about bankrobbers. There are very poorly executed 'skits' to scare you and the whole tour seems like the biggest piece of shit in the world.

They then take you to this computer geek and he wants to show you some pictures on his screen but they won't come up. The tour guide and the geek start arguing. They fight and the geek storms off. We then go into the elevator and it doesn't work. The tour guide gets pissed off and leaves to go get help. So we are all left standing there and we begin talking about how much the tour sucks. It's a good 5 minutes before the lights go out. The tour guide comes running back and ushers us through a back door. Then all HELL BREAKS LOOSE. I've never been so scared in my freakin' life. Everybody is screaming and freakin' out then we run through this door and we are out on the street. Tour over. Absolutely brilliant.

Heh, the Nightmare Haunted houses (what I was speaking of earlier) have no tour groups. At the door you sign a death certificate, they stamp it, and open a coffin lid to let you in. From there on you have to find your way out of rooms (I got stuck in one...had to ask the 'serial killer' for the way out...He stayed in character was surprised. You also have to crawl through cages and what not. It can take you up to an hour to get out.

This sounds like 'Alien War' that we had in London before they closed it down! It was even opened by Sigourney Weaver! It was one of the scariest things and far too realistic, I think they closed it down as it really was freaky as hell! You basically are escorted by a Marine and they gotta get you civilians to safety and you go down a lift and an alien grabs a kid and you are led through these dark corridoors with steam everywhere with this marine telling you theres aliens abiout and this place is all shadows and corners and you have to keep bundled together and then there's an alien behind you and this marine is firing and shouting at you to get out the way and everyone just panics big time and we are dragged into this life pod and strapped in and the power goes and the marine is takling to you in the dark and then you hear this hiss and the an emergency light screams on and there's an alien in there with you and I've NEVER heard a small group of people scream so loud! The amrine kills the alien and the pod lands and we go into more corridoors and then all hell breaks loose and there's aliens everywhere and the marine is trying to protect you and he is screaming at you and then other aliens come and you're basically fucked really and then you are shouted at to just RUN! And then you run and everyone just really wants to get out of there so everyone is pushing each other away to escape and then basically you run right outside into the people waiting in line!! Well funny! Boy was that great, it was only there a few months and it was supposed to be permanent at London's Trocadero centre.
