I don't know about everyone else but I have a hard time with people as far as this subject goes. I have two good friends who like horror almost as much as I do and some people will tolerate me talking about horror or related topics as long as it's not all I talk about (never is...as I'm obsessed with anime and videogames as well...not great conversation topics either though-) but the hardest time I have is finding a good date. I'm a girl (not sure it's made obvious by my ava) and every time a guy asks me out to the movies...well we run into a major problem...and I'm not sure I like being tougher than my date ::sigh::. Anyone else have this problem?

None of my friends are big horror fans which is why I come here. They watch the really commercial ones but that's kinda it.

Going to the movies, well I could watch anything so it wouldn't really bother me. I'd just go see the horror movie another time if the date wasn't interested. Their loss!

i agree. i tend to like scarier pics and those are the ones i get really geeked about seeing. my friends are kind of useless when it comes to that, so i end up going to the show by myself. to some it seems depressing but i get to determine what i want to watch and i don't have to compromise on something i don't want to see and there's no justification. it's nice to do what you want.

I go by myself mostly these days as my friends are crap and I was fed up of missing things waiting for them to get off their asses and go!

Not that Scream is bad but the mere idea that it rivals with any Evil Dead movie is laughable >.>;. Of course I was the one who made all my friends watch the trilogy and...well...most of em' left during the first one. I don't see how someone can hate movies that are soooo good. The Evil Dead movies are like my favorite movies of all time an my friends can hardly stand them ::cries::

I agree Shade. I do like the Scream triology and I own them but I don't really consider them true horror as they are far too commercial and basically just a little too silly to be taken seriously. At least Kevin Williamson helped out the horror comeback though.

Puhleeze, any guy that doesn't like horror is a pansy. And any guy that doesn't like video games is.. is.. uh.. hm.. a lame guy. Horror and video games are great :D As far as anime, I'm not really big into it, but there are some I like.

I'd play more games and watch more horror, but I'm a college student, so that comes first... Oh well. Don't worry, you'll find a guy out there that enjoys all three as much as you do. It may take some time, but he's out there. Plus you're only 16 :D Give it a while. Young'un :P

I am lucky to have friends that like horror, but I also have several that don't. Now and then I will go to a horror movie by myself... when I was in sixth grade I snuck into the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I think I'm still damaged.

For a while we were hosting horror theme movie marathons. We'd borrow an LCD projector and show the movies on a wall with the sound pumped through a big PA. Once we watched all three of Fulci's zombie trilogy, and served spaghetti and red wine. Most of the people there weren't really horrror fans but got into it just as a theme party. Once we had sushi and Japanese beer with Ringu and Dark Water. I could see serving barbecue while watching TCM, but I will skip the head cheese. Anyway... making horror movies more of an event makes it easier to drag friends in.

I have only a few friends actually into horror BUT not as much as I am.. Sometimes when I am at work I tend to get onto the subject of horror or something dealing with horror. And I usually get the question "DAMN, how long have you been into horror..?" and when I go out everyone that knows me knows that I will only go see a horror/sci-fi movie. NOTHING ELSE.. I do sometimes wish I could find someone that lives near me that is into horror like me and hang out.. But oh well... :)
But usually people that are not into horror comes to me for suggestions on horror to watch ...

i have one friend thats into horror more than i am. me and him often times go to a new horror movie that have come out. but the rest of my friends are kind of...eh...they watch horror movies but it'll be movies like jeepers creepers or scream or urban legends. some of them haven't even herd of the evil dead. one time one of my best friends asked me for a good horror movie. he wanted something besides a freddy movie or a michael movie. i mentioned evil dead and he was completely oblivious to that movie (he borrowed IT because his girlfriend is scared of clowns).

but my horror friend and i will often times discuss horror movies. we'll give each other trivia and give info on upcoming horror films. he's a big mike fan.

Thats exactly how my friends are. They have seen Cabin Fever and TCM 2003, but they've never seen Original TCM or Night of the Living Dead.

What would I do without a place to talk about my obsession?

yeah, i once had someone totally annoying say they loved great "classic" horrors like scream and house on haunted hill (the re-make) i wanted to hurt her. i do like scream and it did basically revive the genre but it's not classic-may be in a few years.
i've been watching horror for so long now. i just love it and i'm not into waiting around for anyone to join me either. I got tired of doing that! i just hate the presumption that if you like horror you're some how weird or you have some kind of mental defect or that you, yourself, are a pyschopath!! it gets old hearing that crap. i don't know why i like it, i just do. i don't question anyone who runs up hundreds of thousands of dollars on their credit card on crap they can't afford or tell the hockey fan that he's crazy for liking a sport that's so violent. what the hell? people SUCK! sorry about the rant....

I have no social life. Not because this site eats all my time but because music does. Its all i do anymore. But there comes a time when you either have to make things happen or let them happen to you. I chose to get my ass in gear.

Well I dont really have a social life eigther.. I mean I have friends and stuff but I dont really have anything in common with them so sometimes is it hard to relate with them. The people I do have shit in common with all are online and live really far away. However I am going to some old graveyards next weekend to take photos with a friend, which will be cool.... other than horror/metal/and my online groups that is as close to civilization I will get... I have anxiety problems just basically being around a lot of people really gets to me so I dont like to go to malls and places like that. BUT at concerts and places like that I feel just fine..

I used to live opposite a grave yard. Very very old graves there going back 100s of years. It was dead creepy at like 2am standing outside my house! Refused to walk through it at night when I was little even though it was a short cut!

Damn...You are definitely meeting the wrong girls...
As for me...If it's not horror, I'm not into it (with the exception of Bulletproof and Long Kiss Goodnight, for movies...Conker's Bad Fur Day, for games...Barbara Michaels, for books...and Simpsons, Futurama, King Of The Hill, and Family Guy,for tv shows...And everyone of these have their "horror" moments) :)

LOL that's funny I used to have a graveyard behind my house when I was a kid also, But I wasn't really afraid to go through it at night though. Me and other friends in my neighborhood used to sneak out late at night and play hide and seek in the graveyard. Ahhh the memories LOL.

As far as friends go I'm pretty much the same as most of you guys, my friends wouldn't know a good horror flick if it bit them in the ass. I've tried to get friends to watch like Evil Dead and other older flicks and they would be like Final Destination was so much better than that. Man I just wanted to smack the shit out of them for being so fucking dumb.

My parents still live there - my old bedroom window looked over onto the graveyard. The only reason I was chicken shit about going through it at night was that the graves and tombs there were so old they were crumbling and falling apart and the lids of some were broken and it was so creepy! I once neededto pee real bad so ran through it to get home quicker and I was running so fast as I thought Dracula was waiting behind one of the graves! FUNNY! Oh and the place was all full of these old gnarly twisted trees and rusting bars around tombs. The church there has this creepy as all hell secret room that is painted floor to ceiling with eyes!!!

How cool would that be? If only we all weren't so far away from each other! There should be like an annual get together in a big hotel somwhere - like a horror movie halloween party thing! That really would kick ass. And we have a lot of musicians here for the music. And I'm sure there's people who are handing with a knife for carving the pumpkin decortions!
